  1. Most people are able to name the good teachers they had very quickly, and after that many of them end up leaving to do something else.

i have to disagree strongly with you on that one

all of my best teachers have been my favorite becuase they were there to teach. they wanted to be teaching and they loved every minute of it. the satifaction they got from teaching out-weighed whatever other money was offered to them

i had one english teacher junior year in high school that was one of my best teachers. he bounced around from being a chef to a writer and never liked his job. when he became a teacher he told us it was the best thing he had ever done in his life besides his 2 year old girl (he was only like 27). i have never learned so much from any other teacher and i have never seen a teacher have so much fun teaching to his students. he made To Kill A Mockingbird one of my favorite books and i dispise books like that.

The best teachers are the teachers that want to be there, not that are only there till other oppurities open up.

  2. The problem with tenure is that public schoos also have it. Teaching degrees are fairly easy to get and many people shoot for them. So you get a lot of people who want to do it, a lot of people who aren't good at it, and a lot of people can't get fired. There needs to be protections to help teachers keep their jobs, a sense of job security, but having them protected to practically all ends of the world is not a good idea.

it usually takes a couple of years for teachers to get tenure here in connecticut

if the school cannot figure out the teacher is bad or not in that amount of time it is their own fault, tenure is a much needed thing to attract teachers

we cant take even more benefits away from teachers, there already is shortages

  3. Wrong.  The burden of proof is on the person making the claim.  If those quotes exist, then he needs to post credible sources of the above quotes, not left wing extremist websites.

    :(

    anything i post is uncredible

    anything you post is godsend

this forum is starting to depress me at the hipyrocy

soul doesnt even agree with you ZD

you cannot have it both ways...several of the quotes i posted orginally were from blogs, then i reposted them from more credible sites

  4. why was the other thread closed?

This is where the score wont reflect the game. I think the pats will pretty much have a good offensive game as long as brady doesn't throw any interecptions. That would really hurt them. The pats defense will dominate but pitt will put togather around two very long drives running the ball and making small passes with ben. The defense though will get 1-2 interceptions and one will be a big return. If the pats could control the colts offense they can control the steelers wide recivers (who are good but a just a step down from the big three in indy). Corey dillion must have a good game and will. this will open up the deadly short passing game of the pats that not only eats up time but also eats up yards/field position. The snow wont make to much of a difference since the pats thrive on it and pitt shouldnt be to affected but it could effect the kicking game. And we all know who the best clutch kicker in the game is...not to mention also in the snow.

    pats 27 steelers 17

Now the game that really matters. If philly doesnt win, their fans could come out of the stands and start beating up the players. Since i hate mcnabb so much and i hate the eagles i am rather biased in this game. The falcons will get their sack on and get to mcnabb at least 3 times during this game (including on in the crucial fourth quarter drive to tie). The eagles recievers are nothing without TO and westbrook is the only guy that i can see that can making plays with his feet to beat the falcons. Mcnabb will only have a medicore game and the falcons will score a touchdown on defense or special teams and be put inside the eagles 30 at least once on a interception or kick return. Vick and the falcons wont have an easy time on offense. Vick needs to not turn the ball over. Their high powered running attack will benefit them in the snow. Warrick dunn and duckett will need to control the ball (i love dunn, one of my favorite running backs [woo woo fsu]). This game really comes down to if vick can get 100+ yards running and ducket/dunn combined get another 100 yards or

vick gets his passing game on. THe eagles will put 8+ men in the box to stop the run so vick needs to be passing. Watch for crumpler to have a huge game but i think that one wide reciever may need to step up also.

falcons 31 eagles 20 (this score is inflated...if eagles win it will be a lower scoring game)

    edit

sorry for that being so long :freak:

  5. Keep in mind that Huhuh could not list credible sources in the least in that tread so I do not know the full extent of her comments there.  Take it with a grain of salt.

keep in mind that ZD continually uses blogs for source then tries to slander mine

    (double standard?)

i posted several very credible ones and even found a few where she had apologized for making some of her horrible comments

  6. I'm going to stay right here in the most powerful country in the world and try to make change rather than running away.  How I'm going to make that change I don't know yet but I'm young and angry and I feel like doing something about it.  Leaving the country is not the answer.

    quoted for importance and truth

  8. was that after you hit the curb?

it was the day after i hit the curb...actually no different thing

i hit the curb once and really screwed up my wheel but this one was in the winter when i was sliding on ice...instead of hitting the car in front of me i chose the curb...the next day my tire was flat

:= how does SaN know that about me

    ==========

o and when i said the flat was underinflated i meant my spare tire was underinflated

  9. Whats wrong with Coulter?  Im not being sarcastic, someone fill me in on whats wrong with her..  All i know about her is she writes books and newpaper articles, and people throw pies at her..  I believe she was mugged in Washington D.C. and was ticked cause she couldnt carry a firearm but the mugger could, something like that..  Is that the same person your all talking about??

And i know you guys (mainly speaking to Ish, who enjoyed killing me in doh's server yesterday) dont see Michael Moore as the Democrats spokesman, but you gotta admit he is welcomed and is being seen with the leaders of the democrat party..  NOW the democrat party didnt warm up to Larry Flint during Clintons impeachment like they are to Moore, but Moore doesnt have a dirty magazine either..
