  1. I did get my non-smoking room, which also has a huge mini fridge and a nice micro! And yes there are not too many stairs to go up, but opening doors by myself and having 8 heavy trips makes it quite the workout, especially after doing an hour and 15 minute workout this morning already, and I'm just so used to being on the first floor every year. Just a little crazy, I still have a few more trips to make, but I'm going to wait until I pick up Jackie so he can open the door for me with the stuff I have to bring in yet.

I brought my whole room with me!

  2. So it took me about a half hour of huffing and puffing(about 8 trips) to get all my luggage into my room on the second floor. Dunno if it's because I'm super early or because they are putting us all on the second floor this year, but I hope the rest of you early birds get to be on the first floor. Although I enjoyed the nice little exercise after being in the car for 5 and a half hours, still will suck to have to do it all again on Thursday or Friday, bringing my stuff to the gaming room.

Wish you all a safe trip and I'll be seeing you all soon!

  3. There will be no thunderstorms! Of course if there are we will have to play board games and card games at the hotel I suppose. Although I am not expecting any t-storms, every day(for pre event stuff) is going to be awesome and sunny as every year before has been...

Way to be the bearer of possible bad news Jackie. :D

  4. For those of you have come to frag fest early before, do you just leave your computers in your hotel room until Friday? Last year I had a laptop as opposed to a desktop I am bringing this year and didn't arrive early so just wondering...

Yeah Jibba, I just bring all my stuff to my room, they have wireless so you can get online and everything also. If you're worried about housekeeping just put a Do Not Disturb sign on the knob, although I'm sure everything would be fine.

Also we will probably be leaving earlier now on Wednesday to go to Cedar Point, I'm thinking we should meet around 9am Wednesday morning in the hotel lobby.

  5. Well, it depends on how many people are coming in a little later on Wednesday. Ebil is telling us to leave early since she'll be flying in around Noon, but if there is a few people coming in late, we could leave around 1:30 or so. And the park is open until 10pm so we'd have plenty of time, plus on a weekday I'm sure it won't be very busy.

  6. Are there any other nearby hotels besides the Clarion?

There aren't really any close by, but that's not the way to go anyway. Booking at the Clarion helps the price of the rooms we reserve for the event. So either way I'm booking at the Clarion, just a little bummed that my room has to be smokey.

  7. I booked a two bed room on Thursday June 3rd non-smoking. Then again I am arriving Tuesday June 22nd so maybe that is why I was able to get a non-smoking room for the week. There must be some other event going on to have run out of non-smoking rooms already.

What time did you book on the 3rd???? I called around 9am and booked my room on the 3rd. I'm so jealous if you took the last non smoking room...hehe... I'm also arriving on the 22nd so that's definitely not the issue. Must be some event going on other than ours.

  8. Sucks they only have 2 beds in smoking rooms. Oh well, I'll just bring a bottle of febreze lol. Reserved.

Yeah, same here Nightling... Will have to make do.

  9. If you really wanted to go to Cedar Point this year Ebil, we can wait until later, missing one cookout never hurt anyone, and who knows they might still be partying when we get back. It doesn't really bother me. If the park closes at 10pm we would have plenty of time to enjoy everything even if we got there late afternoonish. That would also mean Lousiest would probably be able to make it.

  10. I'm guessing 2pm is our leave time. Park closes at 10pm... suppose to be 1.5 hrs drive from the hotel.

I had the impression that we were going to try to leave early Wednesday morning for Cedar Point so we could be at the cookout later that evening. You're already booked though Bunny? Not going to hang out with Jackie and me Tuesday night? Hmmm...I suppose that works also if more people are arriving throughout the day on Wednesday. Just might have to miss out on the cookout for once. Either way I want to make it to Cedar Point for sure.

Another thing we could do is anyone who's around early Wednesday could go to the park when it opens, then meet up with others later on. Just need to make sure people flying in all have rides.

We have a little more time to plan, so I'm sure we'll figure it all out before the Pre-party week begins.

  11. We need a definitive answer to when this is going to happen. I think if we left Wednesday, that should work just fine. I'm not sure how long it takes to get to Cedar point from the hotel, but I do remember it being a ways out, so we'd leave early Wednesday morning. We would have plenty of time to enjoy rides and such, and still make it back to the cookout later in the evening.

So about 2 hours to get there from the hotel? Cedar Point opens at 10am, so I say we should leave by around 7:30am to make sure we have everything set. If we leave Cedar Point by 4:30 -5:00pm we should make it back to the cookout in no time, and would have spent 6-7 hours at the park.

What do you guys think about this plan? Is 6-7 hours enough time to spend at Cedar Point?
