  1. It could be empty because it's a Monday. I always assumed the workload or schoolwork begins heavy in the beginning of the week, so maybe people don't have time today to play. :shrug03:

  2. I think Undercover said it was his 46th birthday this past Friday. Happy Birthday, Undercover! :smillie_smilling:

EDIT: I just saw Lazerus' birthday at the bottom. Happy Birthday to you too, Lazerus.

  3. Cool game, ThruX. :smiling2:

What did you buy, ThruX? I stopped playing after Level 10 maybe (I had stuff to do). I bought assistant, fortify, builder, scavenger (2 levels), Deagle with upgrades to damage (1) and clip size (1) (for fun).

EDIT: I got to Level 51, then got bored. :biglaugha:

I found the above link for installing a heatsink fan (stock Intel). The installation of the fan starts around 3:37 and ends around 5:42.

The manual for my Intel fan for my q6600 advised a certain order when pushing in pins. For example, if I pushed in one pin, the next pin to push in would be the one diagonal from it, not the ones located on either side of it. So when I pushed in the one in the lower right corner, I pushed in the upper left corner next (something like that). I dunno if that's the correct way to do it (the diagonal order), but that's what the manual outlined for me. :shrug03: Maybe that's why your pins keep pushing up. What does your manual say?

I'm sure other guys here know better though. I've only installed a fan once.

  5. I did the same thing Nightling did; I upgraded from an MX310 (used for over 3.5 years; still works, but it's getting a bit old) to an MX518 recently. It feels fine for now. The side buttons and top buttons don't get in my way, and I don't really use them a lot. I was considering buying the G5 when I was looking for a new mouse, but it was more expensive than the MX518 at the time, and I didn't think I'd use the weights that much. Haven't used the G5 before, so I don't know much about its use or feel. :shrug03:

  6. was that from a real show? my head just almost asploded.

Lol, I don't think so. It's too cheesy, and that whole bit with the Comedian wanting a kiss from Silk Spectre II is too creepy (for those who have read the comic book). I think the people who made this were making fun of the book's dark premise by using a "Super Friends" type cartoon. :biglaugha:

  7. Is anyone able to complete the campaigns in single player on expert?

Shaftiel, Chen, Monk, and I to name a few. We all have the "What are you trying to prove?" achievement.

Are you asking whether or not someone can complete a campaign with 3 other bots on Expert? That would be a little hard but not impossible. The bots don't take commands, so they can't take defensive positions where you want them to, which can make it frustrating, especially in the finale. A lot of us have the "What are you trying to prove?" achievement like Jackie said, but mine were done with other human teammates.

  8. Rotate blue ribbon status for each round, not each map. Blue ribbon status for an entire map is a bit demoralizing. I'm not talking about who gets it; I'm talking about how they get it. People who know what I'm talking about will disagree with me, but that's just my opinion. Rotating will make it more challenging for both sides.

  9. Firmware updated. Thanks monk for showing me that. Lets hope no future problems arise now!

No problem. You (and others) helped me out when I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my computer. :smillie_smilling:

I am hoping that the updated firmware protects my drive as well, although I'll be backing my stuff up periodically just in case. We'll see... :twitch:

  10. Sorry if this topic has been posted before. I tried the search option in the forums, but I think I'm typing something wrong because nothing really shows up for my search. :shrug03:

I have Windows Vista 64 Bit as my OS right now. One or two older games (not built for Vista for either the 32 or 64 bit versions) that I am trying to install request that I install Direct X 9.0c, even though Vista comes with Direct X 10 (I checked mine with dxdiag to make sure.) I've tried searching on the web for a solution, and some posts say that I should have no problem if I install Direct X 9.0c along with my existing DX10; in other words, they can exist together even though I get a message saying that "DX 9.0c will install over the latest version of DX (that I have)." I tried installing an older game without installing DX 9.0c, and the game wouldn't run, so I know that it needs to be installed, or I have to run it in compatibility mode. Or both of those options.

I wanted to check with you guys since I'm sure some of you probably ran into the same problem before and solved it. Btw, I always install programs and games with administrator rights, so that's not an issue. Thanks for any help.

  11. I was going to post the video here, but the rules prohibit excessive swearing in the videos posted. I thought the video was pretty funny. You can watch it if you google "Whitest Kids U Know" (it's the name of a comedy troupe) and "Call of Duty;" you'll probably get a couple links.

Again, there's swearing, so I'll leave the decision to watch it up to you guys instead of posting it here. Hope some people enjoy it. :smillie_smilling:

  12. 1. I play CS: Source and Left 4 Dead mostly. I have the Orange Box, but I've never played any of the games on it except for Team Fortress 2 (I stopped playing before they released Goldrush).

    2. I don't own any consoles.

    3. I don't know much about upcoming games except for Diablo 3, which you mentioned. I try reading previews of games on IGN.com, but there's always a lot. I don't really read them all since it's hard to tell which of them seem promising.

    4. Of those games that you listed, I have a little interest in Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto 4, Dawn of War 2, and FEAR 2. I'm waiting for the price to drop on Fallout 3, waiting for Grand Theft Auto 4 to get patched adequately (or Saint's Row 2 to get patched adequately first), and looking for more information on Dawn of War 2 and FEAR 2. I was going to get Mass Effect a while back, but I am a bit wary of the DRM debate surrounding it.

Out of those 4, Fallout 3 is not multiplayer, so I guess it's not a game we can play together. <_< I don't think people will play GTA4 (have to sign up for Windows Live account for PC or something, and it's a bit old for console people) or FEAR 2 (multiplayer is said to be an average shooter) in groups. I don't know how people feel about Dawn of War 2; I probably won't jump into it right away since I'm bad at RTS. Currently, I try not to spend a lot on games, so I don't know what I'll be playing in the near future. :shrug03:

  13. Is your hard drive the same as mine? Seagate 500GB 7200.11? If so, it could be a firmware problem.

    http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/self...sp?DocId=207951

Mine was one of the hard drives that are known to have this problem, ST 3500320AS with SD15 firmware. I upgraded the firmware a day or two ago. I don't know if this is what's wrong with your computer, but it's worth a look; some customers have reported "clicking" sounds coming from their hard drives before they failed. :shrug03: Here's one or two other links to look at:

    http://www.virtual-hideout.net/articles/Se...ues/index.shtml

    http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php...9266&page=3

You can find a lot more links on this stuff on the Internet if you google "seagate 7200.11 + firmware + whatever" or a combination of those terms. Hope your problem isn't your hard drive. :(

  14. avira is pretty good on the CPU usage i believe; the only bad thing about it is that every night when it updates, if you have the trial version, it will pop up a window asking you to upgrade to the full version

Yeah, I used to use Mcafee on my last computer, but I am currently using Avira for my new one. Much less CPU usage in comparison. The reason could have been that my computer was older (it's about 2 and a half years old now), but the updating and scanning was really heavy for some reason.

  15.

I'm just going to stay here. Canadians are too nice to ever become zombies... except the french.

"I want Brian. Sorry, must have read the script wrong...moaning." "Moooaaannninngggg." :biglaugha:

My plan is to start the zombie uprising and leverage the cure I've already developed for world domination.

    Ring

Wasn't that the plot of Resident Evil: Degeneration? ;)

  16. Bonus points to anyone who posts up the RC sketches with George Bush imagining himself as a superhero and a jedi.

perhaps among my current favorites of RC.

    Jedi one- http://www.robotchicken.org/index.php?titl...Master_George_W.

    Superhero one- http://www.robotchicken.org/index.php?titl...Texas_is_Coming

I've never watched the superhero one before, so thanks for letting me know. :smillie_smilling: I haven't watched Robot Chicken in a long time; I should probably catch up on it soon.

I was also going to post a small paper I wrote about Robot Chicken about a year and a half ago in my spare time, but I think it's too long to post here.

EDIT: The period at the end of the first link wasn't included in the URL, so I had to edit it in.

2nd EDIT: Meh, let me try to fix it again. If this doesn't work, you may have to put a period in yourself.
