  1. I try to not watch trailers for films I really want to see. Tends to spoil them for me.

    +1

I'm going to see District 9 tonight, and have only seen the teaser trailer (w/o the blurred alien face) and a few of the viral marketing things. From a spoiler-free review I read, this is the best way to go into a first viewing of this movie.

Yeah, after watching some commercials from District 9, you can already tell some of the story elements are taken from current international politics. Heard a lot of good things about District 9 though; hope you enjoy it.

EDIT: Forgot to comment on that Iron Man 2 teaser: I liked that ending. :boing:

  2. I use a cross between the 2 grip types like bushwack. My palm rests on the mouse, but my fingers aren't flush against it. My fingers are raised like the claw, but they are not that high off of the mouse like in that picture dweezil posted. I use a Logitech MX518 like some of the other guys here.

  3. I've used Comodo Firewall on my old computer before. It's an advanced firewall that you have to take the time and set rules for and modify to your liking. I'm still getting used to it because it can be rather intrusive. For example, I usually have to switch modes constantly when I am installing a new program or something. If I don't, I get several warning popups about whether or not to block the program being executed. It's a very secure firewall from what I've read and experienced, but it's almost too secure if that makes sense.

I dunno if anyone here has experience in making it easier to use; you might want to talk to them first.

  4.

They are. Microsoft can't stand anything that's free for people.

Besides, the campaign is only 2 maps long. Pretty skimpy for 9 months.

...Oh wait, they're making the sequel. Leaves me to think, "what's the point?"

L4D1: 9 months to release Survival Mode, add Versus Mode to 2 of the campaigns, and now a 2 map campaign that lasts a projected 30 minutes according to several articles.

L4D2: 11 months to make 5 campaigns with Co-op, Versus, and Survival Modes, new weapons and playable characters, improved AI Director, and new Special Infected.

    :biglaugha:

I like and play L4D as much as the next guy, but this is kind of silly.

  5. Didn't hear about this game until now. Thanks for the heads up.

Looks like it combines some pretty cool elements. I might buy this if it's good; I call Mordecai or Roland. :smillie_smilling:

  6. No. Just wait for L4D 2 if you want to give it a shot

Agreed. I'd wait a couple months (assuming L4D 2 is released as scheduled in November) and see what effect, if any, L4D 2 has on the L4D community before choosing one.

Whether or not you decide to get L4D 1 now, don't buy it full price; I'd wait for it to go to half price (~$24.99 or lower). Don't get the Game of the Year Edition either; I don't recall any significant advantage you'll get for paying extra for it.

  7. Just put my 12 year old son on an international flight to Vienna, Austria. He is competing in an international swim meet against the best 12 - 16 year olds in the world. However, watching him board that flight made my body so cold. I'm sure nothing ...bad... will happen. Like a fireball in the sky, crashing into a mountain, crashing into the sea, hijacking, giant bird in the engine. Sigh. The worst thing that would probably happen is that Anthony will 'misplace' his wallet, passport, or his tickets. I'm sure he will be able to survive 12 days with those dirty dirty German girls... hoping he finds a cute French girl that can cook instead. I'll fly out next weekend and watch him compete, should be a blast. Maybe I can find some dirty dirty German girls heh :P.

    Shaftiel

Lol, I'm sure he'll be okay.

Maybe he'll find a half-German, half-French girl. Oh, yes... :biglaugha:
