  1. I wanted to announce the Bigfoot Networks ISP... Because we got tired of not being able to fix all of the Internet!

But apparently we think that would just be an epic thing to do one day, so why jinx it? ;-)

  2. So, my router is aging, and I want to get a newer one that will better handle larger media files (for when I actually get around to doing a kick arse media center type thingy) and since I do seem to have many problems with CS registration and lag in a very intermittent and unpredictable fashion...i'm thinking maybe a new router that can prioritize traffic might help...even if only a little.

What suggestions do you guys have? I would be especially interested in first hand experience. Do these new "gaming" routers actually work?

    Let's hear it!

    *cough*

What? You also get a deal with our product with a purchase of that? Not at all why I suggest it! :-D

Anyway, I'm also a fan of Tomato on a WRT54gl. It makes for a surprisingly powerful router. So what Stutters said.

  3. You'll never guess!

Well, I am the Community Manager for Bigfoot Networks, and since you're partnered up with us, I'm occasionally lurking around your forums, because I can. ;-)

Basically, I do the whole social media thing, some web development, community interaction, and put together and run fun programs and contests, among a few other responsibilities. In the past, I've done some work as a game reviewer over at MMORPG.com, I ran some sites for the WarCry Network - and also was a Network reporter there for a while. Game journalism was basically my stepping stone into where I am now - which is a brighter, happier place.

Also, I'm giving props to [LaW]Maverick for being a Technical Writer. I majored in Scientific and Technical Communications in college, which focused a lot on Technical Writing.

  4. So aside from sponsoring GC because it is awesome... what games are the hot ones right now for sponsorship? I am just curious what games cyber athletes should be playing to be staying prevalent in the PC gaming scene.

Like, what is big in the eSports world these days?

I see an awful lot for Counter Strike (more for 1.6 than CS:S), Quake Live, CoD4 (I don't expect MW2 will overtake it without dedicated servers), and Trackmania. I've also seen a bunch of WoW-based teams/competitions too.

At least that's pretty big in the ESL currently.
