  L4D2 - the game Valve forgot... at least one new official map would have been nice..?

   Yup, work lots and kids. Also lack of any new maps or updates made L4D2 get stale for me.

   Im still around on the forums, reading more than I post. good to know youre doing well though!

  Ahh ok, if the server was being discontinued thered be an announcement of some type I guess...

   So is it dead? The server is offline so Im assuming so.

   Also, I agree with Leon. Even though my build was ported over and everything, it just wasnt the same. People have differing opinions on the server wipe, but I think the results speak for themselves.

  I dont get on L4D2 much anymore, running around in circles on the same maps got boring. Still get on MC sometimes, hoping this new server mod help get the server hopping again.

   I vote for anything that makes the server better so yes this sounds like a good idea.

   I just got tired of the same maps over and over, yes I know theres community maps but a lot of those are unbalanced and its a hassle to set up.

   Maybe one day L4D3...?

  I still come on now and then, usually whenever I see people on the server. I try talking to people, but they never respond, either theyre AFK farming or theyre shy I guess.

  If there were people on a bit more I think Id be on a bit more, its just no fun by yourself, even if youre not doing anything with the other players.

  And yes, I miss the old world Leon. Even though my base was ported over, its just not the same. Also I finally found an ancient forest in the old world and was starting work on a new project there.

   Its not just the lighthouse, but both mountains and everything under them. If you can rip that whole section out and port it over then Im ok with this.

To reiterate: You arent on the ban history which means you were votekicked, meaning the other people on your team voted you off. I wasnt there for the previous round but people were saying you were rushing then, so i guess it was a delayed reaction. A five minute ban on a votekick is coded into the game itself, not the server.

I was on the server not long after this, people were saying you were rushing beforehand. I dont see you on the ban list so I can only assume you were votekicked, which results in a five minute ban.

Try to not get too far ahead of the group, and try to help your teammates.

I was exploring new area last night so I dont know how the server handles that, maybe caused a bit of lag...

Yeah, I was on it for a little bit then i got booted with that message.

I am going to release a dependency-free version of the rushing guard plugin that I wrote. It simply teleports (based on config) players who are too far from their team and fully configurable. If used on the server, it should greatly help with the rushing issues.

Yeah, we went over an idea like this before. Seems like a bit too much brute force to fix the issue. Forcing people to do something generally ends up with resentment and annoyance from players. Admins already have access to a teleport/anti rush command but its rarely used.

Thing is, even with 100 admins there are going to be times there arent any on and people are going to misbehave. If someone is consistently being a nuisance, take a screenshot, record a demo, and post it here so we can review it and take appropriate action.

Its been having issues all night, Tirtul was working on it but i dont know if he went off for the evening. Hopefully hes still around to straighten it out.

Back when all this first started, I had no idea it would become this huge. Everyone involved has done an incredible job, especially Jackie, who took his own time and with no formal coding training to rebuild the server and buy system after the Sacrifice update broke everything.

Hi there! Ive been waiting for you. I banned you after watching my console feed, that night. Ive actually had my eye on you for some time now.

Ive been running game servers for a long time, so trust me when I say what you do is nothing new. The blank name with the private profile, the excuses that your "sound doesnt work" and your "key is broken", Ive seen it all before. The fact that you checked if Meng was still on the server before all this, as well as your continued history of incidents on our server, show me exactly what youre about.

So I think its safe to say at this point that youre no longer welcome on our servers. Im sure there are many other, far less moderated servers you can join and have your fun on.

Hilarious, but is this making the game unplayable? It keeps spawning me in the floor then disconnecting me.

Bit of a problem with the minecart track in the nether: it keeps spawning pigmen in the tunnel and they get caught up in the carts and killing everyone. I did my best to clear them out but they were all over the place, so maybe need an idea how to prevent this.
