I have made my views on this apparent prior to this thread.  I think the combination of being able to "jump off of nothing but sky" and the big points provided by the pounce is out of balance.  Since no one wants to upset anyone and say that pouncing off of invisible walls is an exploit, then we are left with talking about the points.

 

We had that discussion before. I think its bogus. other people say its part of the game. one problem with it is there are no equivalents to jumping off invisible walls for other classes. You can't master being a spitter or jockie or even boomer. Like really what is the point of being anything other than a hunter (besides you know, actually being able to win a round)

Quite a few people actually. I deal with elitism all day. annoys the heck out of me and just makes me look down on people

If its not about the points why does it matter if we reduce them?

I don't understand why people place self worth on an arbitrary unscientific points system

all i'm getting from this conversation is that we should nerf the hunter because it discourages teamplay and encourages arrogance.

IMO we should do what csgo does. Add db metrics to the points system to see:

- version of buy plugin

- the number of spawns a si has

- number of 0 point spawns

- total points awarded

etc, then we just need to decide on what is fair and what the ratios should be. ie: (csgo) don't make the autosniper $2500 and give it a $800 kill reward

Well great discussion. It's crazy how deadlock can access killz' computer to defend himself. Basically we have come to the same points as the last 4 conversations as I outline in my last post. If you need more clarification I'd be happy to write an official note and get it signed by all the board members in person. Just give me a year

this has been fun. really. The logic in play here is:

admins: We have (live) video evidence of deadlock cheating. we have multiple months of demos we have argued over, disproved, and continued to argue over until I saw something indisputable and put an end to it

kills/deadlock: but wait! you haven't watched him play live! you guys suck!

In all seriousness dudes. No matter what you say he won't be unbanned. The only thing that will get him unbanned is me reviewing the evidence and coming to a different conclusion OR - admins / other board members giving enough of a poop to continue the discussion on it. So as I mentioned before - I am busy - and I won't have time to look at evidence if people keep bringin up idiotic points

@zero, have you ever watched the movie 12 angry men? 1 person out of 12 believed that a person was innocent, the other 11 were ready to say that the person was guilty, only through constant talking and persuasion and bringing in logical evidence and facts, did they all end up agreeing that LOGICALLY, the person was not guilty. Sentencing someone for a murder he did not commit. that was greater than 90% of people that wanted to convict the kid.

Now you say 90% is enough for a ban? no. I want 100%, if you truly feel that he hacks, give 100% that is your job as an admin. Not to simply shrug it off, and say meh, 90% is good enough lets ban him. Well, im 90% through your heart surgery, we can end it here. You'll be alright. Slavery is 90% removed, that's good enough. right? NO. 

 

You say there needs to be someone standing over his shoulder? HELLLOOOOOOO, has he not offered to LITERALLY PUT A VIDEO CAMERA OVER HIS SHOULDER TO SEE EVERYTHING.

just to reiterate or clarify without even reading what he posted. We have had multiple demos taken that have been questionable. None of them have been conclusive, albeit fishy. there was one taken recently that showed, to me, some level of aim assistance.

saturday night i'm just trying to unwind. I work as hard as I can during the week and just  last thursday spent the night tending to my girlfriend in the ER where she was screaming in pain. the last thing i want to deal with right now is a cheater bugging me about all the details about their ban.

and for the record there are multiple discussions about the pro players in our l4d2 server. The only bans that have come about are murderin and deadlock. we have fbi files on all of you, and I love you all.

but really as it stands now. Multiple admins call hax. Multiple say no hax. I am on the hax side. And I''d love to review the demos when I have time. but really, deadlock, if you are some insane kennys level player - don't waste your time on l4d2.

Also just to add. I am aware of how vac works and how overwatch works. I am also aware of how cheats work and i could make one myself, albeit a basic one. This is not a community input overwatch situation. End of story

this is getting out of hand. If you have anything to discuss amongst  members please do over steam or pm's. 

as far as i am concerned he has been found to be cheating. If you have any objections or proof he is not hacking please pm me directly

this is not a democracy. there is no voting on our admins or voting on bans. there is no voting to change our rules. We do our best to listen to user input and we support our admins in their findings. We are aware admins make mistakes and that they are human. We are aware players are human and they make mistakes. We are aware board admins are the antichrist and the best ever.

in this case we have reviewed multiple pieces of evidence with caution and have come to the conclusion he is using assistance. I would love to review the evidence again, but unfortunately  I literally have 1 hour a day for gc.. and so far that hour has been wasted reading this thread which has no bearing on our final decisions.

So please, keep posting stuff for me to read. Because I really love not fixing server 2, and not upgrading to the new sourcemod version, and not reviewing the evidence in this case

Good point. at this point its more a question of did we make a mistake. The demo had a couple blatant things which triggered the ban. Now we are combing through it to make sure it's not just a fluke that can be explained

Does deleting the client registry blob help? You call it a temporary fix so if it helps that's a good path to investigate

We are having ongoing discussions about this internally and reviewing demos and proof. A demo was recently shared that to me shows 2 instances characteristic of cheating. At this point it's not a matter of you proving you are good, I have no doubt that you are a talented player. It is more a question of does the demo prove you are using assistance on our servers.

What have you tried? I'm not an expert with this stuff but a friend I had once used to make me adjust packet and frame sizes.

What is your ping normally?

Do you get any errors in conosle?
