Some guy from Russia named Low was griefing round 4 of the Parish by jumping up and down in front of the second story window that smokers can pull survivors from in the street.  He was pulled around 2 or 3 times and even stood and ran circles in the spit in front of that window.  Jose.gc can back me up on this.

I actually bought a tank last night, and ran out of time before I spawned in as one.  Where does the tank go after that?  Does someone else get it instead?

Try building ground up on a highly populated vanilla server by yourself or even with a small group and you will see its a major challenge and not really boring. It can be pretty intense and not for a casual gamer at all. You have to be dedicated and able to accept setbacks and failure. If you cannot do this you'll never survive or better yet thrive in rust. That's the real challenge. For me on my own in these conditions have had 2 or 3 steady bases but I've only thrived with large groups on PVP. The challenge can be unreal and feel impossible at times. A feeling I've rarely felt in other games.

What's the point when the game keeps resetting? Every time an update comes out everything gets erased anyways. May as well wait till beta or full release before attempting this sorry excuse for a survival game. Sorry to be so negative but this game really let me down. DayZ was a beta mod and it was amazing, even with it's many glitches. The realism is what attracted me. The fight for food and water and bullets made it worth playing. The only thing that made me quit were the numerous hackers that plagued the game back in the day.

I'm not waiting for crap...the game was incredibly boring.

I've been playing again, and the grear drops are finally set just right. I'm on Torment 1 or 2 right now, but wanna progress further, but with friends. If anyone from GC wants to join in with me, let me know, add me on steam. I'm just doing adventure mode right now, but waiting to start any rifts until I play with a group. I have nearly all legendary pieces except for like 4 items, plus a green weapon. Base DPS is around 460-500k....oh and I play a Monk. I don't have my wizard quite leveled up yet.

So... isn't worth it yet? I know many of you are from the US and don't have high latency or lag but is latency an important factor in the game like in PvP?

Depends on the server rules. I know in DayZ if you have a high ping, you're automatically kicked. There's a lot of servers that have that built-in function. So it just depends on what server you're connecting to.

Even if we were to populate the server with 20 people in one night...it won't stick. All the updates done to the server erasing everything will cause people to migrate to other servers. And we don't even have 20 people within our community to even get on this game...let alone at the same time.

What mods?

Figured. I just hope Rust turns out to be an OK game once it goes through a final release....if that ever happens. I would have to say this game was pretty boring though. I'm more into survival than building. The reason I liked DayZ (Arma 2 version) so much was the survival aspect of the game, as well as the variety of weapons and vehicles in the game. There's not as much weapons or any vehicles in the standalone version, but it's still a fun game.

So does this mean you're shutting down the server?

So as you can see, starting up an alpha server was a bad idea huh? Why didn't we just stick with something solid like DayZ or another established steam game? I can tell you that what pushed me away from the server were the updates that constantly erased all my hard work. So is this server gonna go somewhere, or are we gonna let it die a quiet death?

Did someone update again without warning? I know our characters keep what we have on us, but we lose all our buildings and stashes. Could somebody please warn us before you do that? I would at least like to start the game with some building materials. It's bad enough I spent a ton of time building a metal building and now it's gone.

Told Marvin this the other day. He didn't believe me. All of his tweaks basically destroyed the whole point of the game, which is to start off with nothing and work your way up. Imagine if we did that with minecraft and gave everyone creative mode....oh wait ya that did happen for a bit....then look what happened. People started quitting because you ruin the basic premise of the game.

Saturday night works for me. I have reserves until 4pm Pacific time. Don't get home till 5pm.
