  1. Right, and it's also coincidence that you put Tirtul, who has over 4x as much game time in L4D2 than CS:GO and ,coincidentally, over a hundred hours logged on Rust, on your team.

Learned anything more? No, I don't think so, but hours logged in Rust is a clear indicator of general activity. This is a gathering/building/crafting game, and those who play the most have a clear advantage in this war. Imagine if those hours were logged during a war; there would be no question who would win.

  2. As if 7v4 isn't laughable enough, some fun facts:

CS:GO Team - 635 hours in Rust, not including Chick OR Slim

L4D2 Team: 101 hours in Rust, not including Talpa.

Yes, I'm aware that TBT has a ridiculous amount of Rust time, but removing the most active player from each team yields:

    CS - 313 hours + Chick + Slim

    L4D - 56 Hours + Talpa

(Those three omitted because I can't access their stats).

The majority of individual players on your team have as many if not more hours than 75% of our team put together.

Not a single player on our team has more hours logged than any single player on your team.

I have no interest in helping satisfy anyone's need for a one-sided massacre. Enjoy your stacked team.

  3. In my opinion the teams seem a bit (really) unbalanced. No only is it 4v2 in terms of confirmation, but you have the most active players in general on CS:GO.

Why not pick two captains and do a draft or let people pick their team, so long as the teams remain fairly even?

  4. As this got revived, I might as well toss in my two cents.

This really depends on what you want to end up doing down the road. Ultimately, I chose to go to a lower-caliber school where I got a full ride (University of Minnesota) instead of my much more expensive first choice school (Stanford); however, I only chose this route because I intend to go to graduate school once I have completed my undergraduate studies. If your bachelors will be your terminal degree, take the school with the best program. If you intend to continue your education, minimize your debt.

Contrary to other people, I advise going to Rutgers and transferring. If you want to go to graduate school, you should really pick who you want to write you references and work with them as much as possible all 3-4 years you're there.

TL;DR - Best program if terminal degree, cheapest program if grad. school.

  5. Valen, your comparisons are terrible, and I mean really truly awful, because you're making a bunch of comparisons about skill and individual contribution. Spitting and dying does not require skill, and it's not about their aim or relative badness. Spitting and dying is about teamwork and not preventing your teammates from doing what they need to. None of your comparisons are comparable because spitters actually HURTS the team, unlike your examples. This is about teamwork.

In case you still don't get it, here's a case by case of why your comparisons are bad.

Why not Slay a Hunter who misses their Pounce - There isn't a recharge on pouncing, so you can pounce again faster than respawning.

Same for Charger to(o) - 1) The recharge isn't longer than respawning, similar to hunters.

Instant Slay for Jockey because they're bad always - 1) Wrong, jockeys are awesomely useful, 2) They don't hurt the team by holding jockeys.

Slay Smokers who got behind and cant despawn - What does this even mean? Seriously, wat?

Slay Boomers not in the right position to boom the whole team - Your examples are just going downhill... again, this doesn't hurt the team. A spitter who is just waiting for a recharge isn't doing anything to help the team, this boomer is still helping.

I think you're basically ignoring that the respawn timer is lower than the spit recharge timer, meaning there is NO reason not to spit and die.

The list goes on, but basically you're listing non-ideal play examples based on skill. These are fundamentally different because spitting and dying a) Does not require skill and B) prevents the team from doing what it needs to, unlike your examples. Maybe you need to reread. This isn't about people needing to not play spitters if their aim is bad, it's about giving other people a turn to spit once they've had their chance.

  6. I just told you where I've been Turbo - staying away! It's true what you say though - why in the world would anyone listen to you? ;)

Anyways, proto, my issues probably went back to well before you were an admin, and you shouldn't feel like I meant my last post to disrespect you in any way. Considering Turbo actually vouched for admins (wat) perhaps I'll come back and give L4D2 another shot here soon.

  7. Either way no one can be an admin until they've spent sufficient time on our servers. Your friend is welcome to be a member here, and I'm sure they'd take your reference into consideration when he was eligible to apply, but first he has to come here and demonstrate the character the board members look for in administrators.

Nevertheless, thank you for your suggestion as we do appreciate any attempts to improve our community, and I hope you give our servers a shot sometime. Maybe you'll like it here and stick around!

    Best,

    Leon

  8. While I'm sure some members left because they grew tired of the game, others, like myself, left because of the way we were treated. I don't intend to come back until I feel like admin abuse is actually taken seriously rather than the default response being "oh well ban is expired now anyways kbai."

  9. I like this idea and would gladly join. I think that in addition to the base, though, teams should be allowed to build an outer fortification as well, just not enclosed. Thus we can prevent people from building stairs and whatnot next to the wood base.

Also, why bother limiting the size of the wood base if you'll allow any size metal base? I say let all bases be however big the team wants or limit the size of all bases equally.
