  1. Dude, RBI baseball is still the best sports game ever, right in front of Blades of Steel! :biglaugha: I still have mine as well, and still works just fine. Still have the powerpad too. You want a good workout? Forget the DDR pad. Get an NES and a powerpad. A friend and I broke the pad out about 2 years ago and about died after 10 minutes.

  2. Nice looking ride. TA's are pretty quick. White is actually an easier color to keep clean believe it or not. As long as you aren't going mudding in that thing. := Dirt and grime doesn't show up as badly as, say, on a black car or dark color. Scratches don't show up as noticeably either. As with any car, you will have to wash it very regularly to keep her shining. Have fun with her as long as you can! My truck has gone by the wayside since that little thing called "starting a family" happened. :D

As far as my personal opinion on the pontiac situation. I would never own one. Maybe a WS6, but nothing less. Fit and finish on anything lower (body lines, door lines, hatch/trunk, hood) is a disgrace. TA's aren't as bad, but don't get me started on the Firebirds...

That being said, drive that car like it was meant to be driven. It is a speed machine. But at 16 years old, with a newly acquired license, I question how much experience you have with getting yourself out of sticky driving situations. I had a buddy who wrecked his automatic v-6 firebird after sliding a slightly wet corner. We had been driving together for a few years, and had done similar antics with ease for a long while. He just over compensated and lost the back end completely. Don't let that be you! With the manual, once you master it, you will have 100x the control over the car that you would with a computer making shifting decisions. Just be careful out there!

PS: Don't get too cocky about displacement! HP/weight ratio is what it's all about! ;)

  3. GPL... That is the Koenigsegg.. and yes the Bugatti has tested faster. 253 mph top speed. Fastest production car made, albeit most expensive! Koenigsegg is pretty amazing still. Can't say I would not take one if someone offered!

  4. Just got home from the hospital for the night. Hated to leave Catriona there by herself, but she needed to sleep, and I need to get a goodnight sleep so that I can do most of the caretaking tomorrow and let her rest.

We had the nurses take Jack to the nursery so she could sleep. But, when I was leaving, he was up at the nurses station with 3 of em standing around him. He is starting early... :D Had to get a receiving blanket to take home for the cat to get used to the smell. The crazy cat just sniffed it and looked at me with the following feline facial expressions : :unsure::erm::= He is in for the shock of his life tomorrow. :lol2:

But, without further ado. Here is what you all came to see. He is not looking too bad for being born less than 24 hours ago! Yes, his little nose is bruised, along with his ear lobe. But that's what happens when you come out facing up!

  5. := Last night, at 11:13 p.m., Jackson Alan Pace was delivered to extremely proud and happy parents, Josh and Catriona Pace! He weighs 8.6lbs and is 22 inches long. It's almost 12 hours later and I am still in shock from the amazing gift of life. Mother and baby are doing great. Mom is in a bit of pain from the 16+hours of labor and slightly difficult delivery, but will recover just fine.

Pictures will follow soon. I forgot the camera in my hurry to get home, shower, and get back to the hospital! :smillie_smilling: I still can't believe he is actually here, and I am a father! :erm:

  6. Oh, I can gun with the best most any day! :D But, you have to have the Blackhawk to really do much damage at all. I will have to get IP's for the servers I play in. I have 3 that I frequent in my favorites. AGE (Adult Gamers), BlackOps, and I can't think of the other one. I need to get a joystick so I can actually fly the jets with ease. Mouse and keyboard works for heli's, but not so well for jets.

  7. I am pretty addicted. Still have my good days and bad days with flying, but I am getting a lot better. :D Hard to go back and play CS after playing BF2 though!

I actually ran into a community member I hadn't seen around in a long time on a random server the other day. If anyone sees Adambomb, tell him to PM me!

  8. The skyline is only around 25 grand if you actualy buy it in japan. i know this because a person i know is stationed in japan and is sending a skyline home. he gets free shiping too! since he is in the ARMY he gets 2 free car transports and he already brought his geo there now he's bringing his new skyline home.

It's nice to ship it home free... But you still have to do some major work to get them licensed properly here. The government likes to control things such as vehicle emissions and safety regulations pretty tightly. Still very, very cool since it means one more over here. Also gives Nissan the message that we want the next gen's released here as well.

And comparing the price of the cars is very much relevant. No, that test was not equal. Yes, I am impressed by the cars ability, but not because of this video's test.

For starters, that is a normal R33 model Skyline. Not even a GT-R or even the newer model R34. Of course a $1,000,000 supercar is going to smoke it.

This test is about as relevant as most of the " 'X' Car smokes 'Y' bike!!!!!!" videos on the net. These people take the cheapest model 600cc sport-touring bike (mostly a Suzuki Katana 600) with their cousin/brother/friend who has been riding for a week. Then they pit it against a Mustang GT/Camaro/Firebird with some Flowmaster mufflers on it and run em. The rider misses atleast 1 gear, and the car walks him. And anyone who knows what is going on is laughing at the fools who wasted their time trying to make their car look faster by "smoking a bike."

*Disclaimer - Yes, some cars can beat even the fastest bikes. But, from what I have seen and read, it is estimated that it would take about 700+HP to beat a stock 1300cc Suzuki Hayabusa with a skilled rider. It is hard to match something with 140+HP that weighs less than 600 lbs with a rider.

  9. :D Chief, I noticed that and the 410,000 lbs limit reminder 1st thing. Then I noticed the 8 inch piston travel. := Too bad the engine bay of my truck is too small to fit that engine in.
  10. :( Sad to hear about the loss of a loved one. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I have not had to deal with the loss of a very close grandparent yet, or a close loved one. I dread that day very much.

Make sure you remind yourself each day how much each person in your life means to you, and make sure they know as well.

  11. Let me begin this rant by saying that I can be super cheap. But, I have to be. I am 20, married, welcoming a son to the world soon, and buying a house. I forgot to mention that I don't like nibbling.... I apparently like to bite off just about as much as I can chew. :D I recently received a promotion at work, and switched back to night shift (7 pm - 4:30 a.m. for you lucky 9-5ers). So my income is pretty good at this point. Things are tight. But at the end of the month, we end up ahead, somehow.

Now the point of this rant, for whoever reads this far, is about the cost of entertainment. Not the "stick a $20 in the nice ladies undergarments" entertainment, but good old family entertainment. 5 adults went to the movie the other night (one of us was only 14, but didn't have a student ID on them).

    Tickets to movie = $8.50 X 5 = $42.50

    1 Medium soda, 2 Large sodas, and a Large popcorn = ~$22.50

For those non-math types, that brings a grand total of about $65 for 2 hours worth of entertainment. Luckily, everyone was fairily entertained with the movie. For that price, you can't afford to make the mistake of choosing a bad movie.

Movie rentals are slightly better. But by the time a movie is available to rent, everyone and their grandmother has told you about every funny/cool/scary moment. The sad thing is, this does not only apply to movies.

Any experienced parents on a budget have some insight into affordable entertainment? Luckily, St. Louis has a lot of free places to go such as their zoo, science center, art museum. Without those, I think my parents would have gone broke!

  12. I personally thought it was a good movie. I heard that it was leaning towards the anti-war crowd, which almost made me think twice about seeing it. Totally different movie than what I was expecting. I was looking forward to a Blackhawk Down type action flick. Definitely some good thoughts and feelings expressed though.

A couple of guys on a bike forum I frequent discussed the author that wrote the main storyline as being quite a whiner. They said the movie had cut a lot of the whining out.

It was an eye opening movie for anyone that thinks of war as the glorious/john wayne/shoot em up action cliche. I am sure some of the plot was stretched quite a bit, but on the same note I am sure most of it is pretty close to reality.

  13. Flitter, you seem to be going for a pattern of decent speed and great handling. Why not an 05 Civic Si. Supposedly the best yet. And pretty affordable compared to even the cheapest used TT. Mini Cooper (S)? Ford Focus SVT (newer model... the older model Focus had some problems, I would guess with changing from a European exhaust to our "cleaner" exhaust system.)

Just a few ideas to think over as well. Good luck finding a nice ride!

  14. Your dream cars have too many wheels for my taste :D

    Triumph Daytona 675 Triple.

    DAYTONA_GRAPHITE.jpg

I do want a quick car with amazing handling, but it has to be family friendly as well. I am thinking a Mini Cooper S.

For (someday) affordable - Ford Shelby Cobra GT500intro.jpg

  15. First of all, let me say, that is a nice looking ride! I am all about the clean look. Only problem I have with the Accord is the Rear end. More specifically the exhaust and rear bumper combo. It looks like the V6 mustangs that people try to put "dual" outlet exhaust on, and it just sits under the bumper. They could have made it look like the exhaust was meant for the car... Cut out or mold some area so that the pipes sit even with the rest of the car.

Sorry, not a specific complaint against your car. Just my $0.02. Love the look of yours though! Very nice choice of wheels with that car too.

You my friend, are a very confused man. But to each's own.

Im done posting in this thread...

I am guessing he was referring to not buying a domestic V8. If he checks back he can verify that. To which I have to respond. Ford has a nice package in the new Mustang GT. Chevy is... well... Chevy is uncertain with what is going to happen tomorrow and won't take a chance on anything. Will they go anywhere in the next 3-4 (general warranty coverage... ) years? Probably not. 5-10 years? Might want to start on that coffin just in case. The problem I have with domestic is that they seem scared to try new things. Want more horsepower? Increase displacement. 6.0 Liter too small, build a 7. When you have a 3.5L V-6 (Nissan) making the same amount of power as a 4.6L V-8 (Ford), you question what is going on here. Sadly, the only thing I have been pleasantly suprised about lately is the SRT4. <_<

  16. := I love the Bush Bashers and there "speak-before-they-think" stance. Not saying all of them (ex. Kirin's statement), but most just want to push their propaganda right in everyones face at any given opportunity (enter Sheehan and followers..). I'm tired of it. The man is doing what he can. There are cities under 15 feet of water at the moment, people wading or swimming out, walking down highways aimlessly to unknown destinations. People are looting, raping, murdering. Shots have been fired at rescue helicopters, and at hospitals. Rescue efforts, of all things, are being halted because idiots with guns have decided, for whatever reason, that they need to shoot at them. What good is shooting down a chinook helicopter carrying sick and injured going to do? Raise morale with fireworks?

Now think about that, and then ask yourself why the President isn't there. Why isn't the states own governor there? Right, it isn't contained or safe. When police men are admitting that they don't want to be caught out alone with only a handgun, you think it is a good idea to have a presidential visit? Maybe some of these "What is Bush doing that he can't be there" types need to take a visit down there. Set up a nice national address in the heart of New Orleans.

Think before you criticize please. Give me a LEGITIMATE way that you could ACTUALLY help to remedy the situation from the president's shoes, and then post it. I would love to read that. But I am tired of hearing reasons why Bush is to blame, or why he isn't doing enough at the moment. My wife makes me turn off the TV when I see things like that. <_<

As far as the Global Warming issue goes: If this was caused by global warming, what happened with Camille in 1969? Global warming then too? If this was really caused by global warming, wouldn't each year since Camille (or whenever we first thought up the theory of global warming) have brought stronger and stronger hurricanes? Like I always say when the global warming topic comes up, "Maybe we should have plugged a few volcanoes to stop the pollutants..." The situation might be reality, but it sure isn't solely brought on by cars or businesses. It is the ever changing earth. Since some years bring colder temps, and others bring warmer temps, I will still refuse to buy into the global warming scheme.

  17. Oh well my 4 year old HIS 9600XT Platinum 256mb card still rocks every game available, so I'll upgrade when the software catches up :)

This says it all. I understand that development takes some money, and marketing takes some pocket change. But seriously. $400 for a freaking video card that is middle of the road in a few months is insane. Make a card and market it for your average target's ( Younger gamers, for the most part) budget. In a world where I can barely afford to fuel up my truck each week, how the heck do you think I am going to be able to put money towards a card so that your company makes money? Hell, cut down the package to a static free cover, and a cheap plastic case. Get rid of the graphical cardboard box that requires more packaging because the thing is 5X bigger than the card. := <Rant over>

  18. Nice car for a small Asian kid or a woman, but of course real men drive trucks ;)

Real men don't make enough money to fill up a truck...

Or they die trying... :bang: WOOHOO for $3 a gallon! So, who wants to take bets on $3.50 or $4? I have got to get my bike back up and running this week. $60 a fill up :boo: That's for about a week and a half too. My trucks monthly gas consumption blows away our original gas budget we did about 2-3 months ago, and that was for 2 vehicles!

Anywho, Nice car Brillow. Manual? 6 or 4 cylinder? Looks like a fun ride!
