  1. I should just remove the class altogether.  No more headaches and "valid" complaints about that class anymore.

    make it so it gives 0 points. that way i wont worry about buying stuff lol

  3. by pouncing around the map, i have kept skeeters distracted long enough for others to get good booms on them.

     

    also piggy backing pounces is teamwork, gota wait till they almost get the incaps up so others have time to spawn.

    seeing the vid i realized tanks would need to be nerfed to hell for it to work on 10 vs 10... or maybe turn it into something like 15 vs 5 tanks

    its hella fun in 4 vs 4 tho

    Don't really see the skill behind death charging someone obliviously walking front of you or charging a Smoker's victim off a pier.

    the former almost never happens to me(unless we are playing the bridge) the later requires teamwork to position the smoker just right, this does not always pays off for the charger and it is cerytainly not paying off for the smoker ...aniway thats my reasoning behind it, but its ok man.

    I dont understand why does a hunter get some many points for  a pounce when  you only get 5 for a death charge

    i guess because in the hope of keeping it vanilla, the points system is trying to copy the damage the infected deals, and the hunter is designed as big risk big reward class already.

    and it works, but the system doesnt take into acount the 10 players thing, that we can pick which infected we wana be or invisible wall pounces.

     

    the first two arent going to change obviously and the third its unfixable, i guess...

    (jackie, can you put invisible props in the walls of the map to stop ceiling pouncing? or maybe normal props, at that distance they wouldnt render for survivors aniway)

     

    while on the topic, death charges should be rawarded 3 or 2 more points. they also require a lot of skill, teamwork or dumb luck.

    That comment is for players who don't belong in this community.

    what i mean to say is that if they leave because they dont know how to stop the hunter from killing them, they cant be that good of a player.

    or they just have bad luck and an awfull team, in which case they should be asking for a scramble/swap.

     

    and i agree the best games are those whit comebacks or nail biting scores, but nerfing the hunter to hell to get more games to be like that feels like the server is giving the midle finger to people that are good at pouncing.(not me, i suck at it)

     

    yesterday we were playing hard rain whit just 10-6 people, this guy called ZZZzzz or something like that was asking what was whit the nerf, when i explained to him that it was to keep the games from being stacked whit early tanks he said that he was thinking of buying a menbership but he didnt like the changes. (the nerf and the change to the !teams menu)

    im not trying to guilttrip people into undoing the nerf (for all i know he could had been lying), my points is that it IS a huge bummer to people that dedicate themselves to learning to pounce, and further nerfing will just drive those people away.

     

    also, something that i dont think has been mentioned in the thread yet, what about nerfing the hunter achivements.

    by the time you get enough good pounces to buy tank you are pretty much getting reawarded 10 extra points for the achievements, right?

     

     

     

    Smoker's and Jockey's points per damage tick was increased as well.

    come on, you cant posibly blame that on the infected lol

     

    lordbaby's idea isnt that bad actualy, this would also give the survivors further incentive to move up faster.

  10. Clony's post made me remenber that i should just play hunter, and how cool it is to land 25hp pounces.

     

    and zero's posts made me realize that making the other team rage using hunters is as good as beating them.

    Some prefer the quick kill off the survivors and others prefer a good evenly matched game that is more of a nail biter
     

    good point, i do enjoy the strugle to win against good teamwork.

    Nerfing the hunter in terms of points allocated for a given action does not render a hunter useless

    i know helping the team is a priority, but at least for me getting enough points for witches and tanks is the fastest way to kill the other team and help mine. even though i suck at tanking...

    and i meant pointless in the sense that it would be more profitable to use any other infected even when in places that the hunter would be ideal for, in the point making sense that is

    i mean teamwork is great and all but i feel like 100% of the beatings a team gives to an equaly good (or even better team) is because of the buy system. i feel like whithout it most maps would end up whit all 10 survivors making it to the saferoom (except for those in which we get new people that get absolubtly destroyed lol)

     

    maybe thats why there are so many conflicting opinions in this thread? you guys dont need to rely so much on the buy system while for some of us IT IS the 'game maker'

    it would certainly be interesting to see a 10 vs 10 match whithout it... aniway, im just rambling.

    i think he meant to say that nerfing it any further would pretty much make the hunters pointless.

  14. Yes, Smokers/Jockeys are still the gimped point earners, but they are also the most vulnerable

    maybe give them more hp and speed? faster reloading for the smoker too. 

     

    they need longer tongues and they need to move

    plz no, when aiming at a group there would be a greater chance of picking up the people in front instead of the last one.

    also, depending on the lenthg of the tounge it could be abused in areas where the smoker has to be sneaky to drag down survivors.

    The intially hunter deserves the 12.5 any other hunter hitting the target in animation deserve less

     

     

    As far as I'm concerned animation pounces could be worth just as much as an incap pounce maybe a small fraction more

    all i'm getting from this conversation is that we should nerf the hunter because it discourages teamplay and encourages arrogance.

    piggybacking as hunters requires teamwork, hunters are good to quickly kill other people's incaps, getting easy 25hp pounces requires comunication betwen teammates (hold him there for me). hell, truly abusing the ladder in dead air requires half the team putting all their spawns on hunters to keep survivors from advancing.

     

    either way, if theres not a compromise topic might need to be locked.

    there seems to be some comunication noise betwen pro-nerf and anti-nerf people, because people are starting to repeat the same arguments over and over.

    if people think the system is in that big of a need for an adjustment, it may just need one.

    putting up a poll for that might be a good idea.

     

    also, i propose (if it can be done at all) to reduce the points obtained from a piggy back pounce by 1/3 (6.6 points instead of 10 for 25hp pounces)
    or to considerably shorten up the getup animation from pounces.
