    That map is good, idk why people don't like it. It's short and pretty even for both sides. Also, the finale is kind of long, but fun. One of the better finales because you aren't just camping around a generator the whole time.. you actually have to make it there which can be difficult some times.

  2. I guess you're lucky you don't go the same route as me then? The 10th hop that I mentioned earlier is the one that has the highest latency, and I know it's not my internet that's the problem because 1) its so far along the tracert amd 2) i dont even have att.

    And so the servers don't need an upgrade, they aren't being ddos'd, it's not my connection... So I guess the lag will remain. Thanks for trying to help anyways.. At least I learned about trace routes.

  3. IIRC you guys said you are loyal to NFO right? I don't think you guys are going to consider moving the server, but is there anyway to upgrade the servers? Or are they the best available? Would upgrading tick rate help?

    I am willing to donate for lag free servers. 

  4. I used the trace route command to both servers and it's the same, the ping increases once it gets to the 10th hop which is "cr1.cgcil.ip.att.net ". Idk what that is but I feel like it's not really my problem. Considering it only took 16 hops to get to the server, so that's pretty far along. I googled "cr1.cgcil.ip.att.net " and saw some people on wow/diablo forums complaining about a Chicago server.. I'm new to tracerouting but could that just mean there's a bad router on the way to Chicago? 

  5. So for the past couple months I have been noticing a lot of lag on the L4D2 servers and it's getting very frustrating. High ping is not a big deal, I could play with 200 ping(if it was consistent).. the problem is that I should have around 50-70 ping and sometimes I do, but most of the time it's spiking up to over 100. You might be thinking "100 ping, big deal", but like I said it's different when it is spiking. I experience rubber banding a lot and it makes simple movements impossible in the game. I'm not here just to whine about it, rather to discuss what the problem is and if there is a possible solution. Does anyone else experience lag spike like this? I've tried everything I can think of at this point. I've verified game cache, reinstalled the game, upgraded PC'S, messed with NAT type(it's Open now), reset my modem and router a few times and done speed tests to ensure it's not my internet. 

    Does anybody have an idea what the problem could be? I really doubt I'm being DDOS'd as it has been happening for over a month now and nobody would waste their time doing that. Could I just have a bad route to the server or something? I don't know how it all works. Or is it something on the host's end? 

    And no, it's not just my connection. I actually have decent internet, almost always 100 down and 20 up with around 10 ping according to speed tests. 

    So what could this be then? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks -Logan

    Autoheal for Tanks through the menu does not have quick buy protection on it.

    do you mean chargers? and if you do, then yes there is a timer because I have 2 heal binds. 1 for infected(used to spam charger heals) and another for survivor heals. But the infected bind now says you can't buy that right now, while the survivor heal says accidental buy protection if you press it too fast I think

    I think it's the accidental rebuy protection not allowing you to !heal again until three seconds have passed. JC would have to confirm. 

     

    that's for the general "!heal" bind. If you have an infected heal bind(the one that autoheals tank) then there used to not be buy protection on this. That's how most people spammed charger heals. Now it says you cannot buy this right now. 

  8. I don't really like the idea, I think for 20 points it's kind of cheap as well. If there are 2 tanks then everyone will focus on the one with lower hp. I find it already difficult enough to tank in a full server with biles being so cheap. I'd like to see bile cost more, maybe 8-10 points instead of 6.

  10. I've seen that happen, when a survivor spawns in the bugged spot I was talking about and the round starts for infected. I've seen it happen on dark carn map2 a lot. But even on other maps that I mentioned you can bump into the door even before the lock is off and start the round

  11. I've been playing in fragshack dm servers and I can really tell I'm improving. You run into pro players quite often in there. The skill gap between those servers and regular valve dm servers is huge. Yeah getting rekt isn't necessarily fun, but I'm improving every time I play. If anyone wants to mm with me go ahead and invite me, I'm MGE but with only 19 wins cuz I'm still new to the game.

    I might join the pub server one of these days when there's people in it

  12. This is kind of random, but is there any way to fix the bug when people touch certain saferoom doors the game starts? Even when its not even open or unlocked. A couple maps that come to mind are Dark Carnival maps 2+3 and the finale on The Passing. It's actually really annoying when people who don't know about this run into the door and nobody is ready to go out. The infected always get a head start with rocket spawns and such.

    u can go to option -> audio -> game volume (turn it off). save your pts. 

     

    He meant so when you are playing infected the survivors can't hear you, and you're obviously not going to force the other team to turn off sound. 

    I think it's an interesting idea but doesn't belong in this server in my opinion. It's just part of l4d2. Don't spawn in so early and they won't hear you around corners and through walls.

  15. I usually heal myself at the start of matches when I'm hurt, teammates are usually too slow or you have to take time to ask. Also, if someone is healing themself then maybe try to pull out your gun and cover them instead of smacking them with a med kit :D

    There is always somebody who doesnt like the map Deal with it Play  or Leave , dont care either way

     I said it empties the server, not sure what that has to do with me using a hunter. And like Brandon said, Chapter 1 and the finale are ok, but the rest is boring. Yeah that's my opinion but obviously a lot of others share it since the server dies when the map is played.

    Nothing wrong with Swamp Fever,

    Obviously there is since it clears the server almost every time. One of the main problems in my opinion is the invisible walls and low ceilings. There's hardly anywhere to launch spawn from.
