  1. 1.) If all 4 parties in the matter are "adults," then I'm sure they want to be treated like adults. If not, this may be a legitimate factor to why no one wants Dave over. If adults, confront the issue. Dave and Janet need to have a face to face chat with Steve and Michelle.

2.) Rules are set for a reason too. Steve and Michelle need to ask Janet and Dave why they are not following the rules of the household. Is it perhaps because it's not Steve and Michelle's house (technically)?

Conclusion: Confront the issue with all four parties present to resolve the dilemma.

  2. I remember Duma! Tell him to get back on the forums at the very least! I almost never play CS:S these days either, but it's still nice to check the forums to see what everyone's up to :)

  3. do the ring et al before buying a house together. trust me ;)

Really? I was always thinking about doing it the other way around or at the same time. Hmm...

Congratz on the ring before Xmas idea, Samurai~! If I had some more job security I would be thinking about that as well. Oh well, we'll see how this whole job thing works out over the next several months. I guess it wouldn't hurt to continue saving for it :)

  4. Heh thanks guys, and stutters, i already made a topic back in May when i bought my new (new) car. I bought it knowing i was almost done and had a job lined up with them already. Its a 2010 Mazda3 s Sport. Look for the topic in the cars section for pictures! The payments really aren't too bad, about $300 a month. I got a decent interest rate, i think it was like 4.9% if i remember, and i put $2500 down on it. The moving out is what i have yet to do. I'm trying to save up for a down payment on a house within the next year hopefully.

    Within a year?

I'm thinking it'll take me 2 years to save up for a down payment. Then again I'm looking to save around $40k and I spend like crazy (Just bought a Gibson Les Paul Studio electric guitar and a Yamaha drum set). I wish my job was as secure as yours. I'm in "sales" at the moment, so my job security is next to nothing. I had 2 good months in a row, but this month I'm not producing, so who knows how much longer I'll have a job :)

By the way, it sounds like you're doing something similar to what my girlfriend is doing because she works in a laboratory in a hospital and she also has all the job security you could ask for.

  5. I try to not watch trailers for films I really want to see. Tends to spoil them for me.

    +1

I'm going to see District 9 tonight, and have only seen the teaser trailer (w/o the blurred alien face) and a few of the viral marketing things. From a spoiler-free review I read, this is the best way to go into a first viewing of this movie.

Yeah, after watching some commercials from District 9, you can already tell some of the story elements are taken from current international politics. Heard a lot of good things about District 9 though; hope you enjoy it.

EDIT: Forgot to comment on that Iron Man 2 teaser: I liked that ending. :boing:

I saw the midnight screening for District 9. It was a very well done movie. My only problem with the movie was that there were FAR too many moments where a character would be "saved" at the LAST SECOND by a 3rd party. It was almost becoming ridiculous.

  6. As tomatoes said, avoid the Red Line areas. Housing over there extends into the south side aka the ghetto. I'm still in the 'burbs, but my girlfriend was looking into moving downtown. Personally, I'd rather have a bigger place and a car in the burbs rather than a tiny apartment and no car in the city.

P.S. anywhere on the northside is nice, but expensive.

  7.

Here's a video recorded of me and a few friends playing Careless Whisper last Thursday. I'm on the guitar. I know I missed the distortion pedal near the middle of the song. I wear big shoes haha. But, please leave comments if you'd like.

P.S. we need a bassist if anyone in the Chicago area is interested. I have all the gear, we just need a person to play the gear.

  8. I believe this just opened on Thursday. Who knows if or when I'll check it out. Whenever I go downtown I'm not usually that far west on foot.
