  1. Thats the brainiac that will most likely take my job next year?

Course I can't even ride no handed...let alone laying back with my feet up...that is nuts.

    Can't spel either

  2. That sucks...but very interesting.

The fact that your car was hit 2 times makes one wonder if it could be the same person/people. They always say a thief will strike multiple times cause they know the insurance will replace exactly what they stole.

If that were true it seems maybe it was someone who knew you had the detector and where you live. Maybe someone who "thinks she heard a noise" yet conveniently didn't check it out?

Yes, I believe what we have here is the answer "The Aunt, in the Driveway, with the lead pipe". Elementary my dear YoMamma.

oh, and I'd vote for the motion sensor light. Used to have a spotlight on my garage (was easy to replace) that was motion sensor. Since it was a replacement the wiring was easy & it only cost like 30 bucks. Now I leave my lights on but have CFL's out there to save cost.

  3. Gimme an electric car and a solar panel and I'll be happy:)

The volt is an interesting deal. I read they picked 40 miles because that is under the daily commute of most Americans. Me, I drive 50 a day for work but with the gas charger that volt would be great for me...I just wish I could get one tomorrow instead of in 2 years!!!

And I am a tree hugging Republican. I like to break the mold:)

Saw a guy in California who converted a GEO to electric & mounted a solar panel on the roof. Doesn't keep it charged but it gives it a little more distance. Imaging being in a store knowing your car is "filling up" in the parking lot. I want to get a pickup truck converted to electric & put a solar array as the bed cover. Too bad I'm inept when it comes to vehicles.

And I do agree that 100% electric cars aren't the end all savior but they sure are a good stop gap. If they help for the next 10 years (which is the expected life of the batteries) you still make up for the trash with the savings in oil. Heck, most people throw their cars away after 10 years.

  4. I still find this guy interesting

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/08/14/bec...rgia/index.html

I don't quite understand the part about

Back in the 1980s, Ronald Reagan led the effort to bring down the Soviet Union, partly by spending them into oblivion. We had the resources, we unleashed our economy, and we won (at least temporarily). We won by using the same principles that Saakashvilli talked to me about.

but then back in 80 I was more worried about the cheerleaders than politics & the world. I didn't think there was a world beyond the walls of the school...LOL

  5. I actually...oh my...watched some of Obama's speach today!!! (I'm either getting old or very very very bored with TV)

I see where he is coming from...trying to drive home the point that drilling offshore is a 10 year plan, not a plan that we need in the next year or two. He also stated that there are thousands of acres of land that can be drilled but the oil companies have not done that. He'd like to see that done before expanding where we can drill.

All in all he made some sence. Look for more drilling but try to find better alternatives. Some good points about alternative energy creating jobs here. The only thing I didn't like is that everything was "funded by the government". Fund the auto industry to retool...fund new companies to develop alternative energy...fun engineering to develop better batteries...

The one thing I'm not seeing from any of the candidates is the fact that we simply need to reduce our use. Sure, alternative energy and new oil drilling will feed our appetite but that just opens new messes that will have to be dealt with 50 years from now. We need to educate on how to reduce the appetite. Go on an energy diet as it were. Course that doesn't make the mobs happy like tax refund talk & new job talk.

I was laughing the other day at Americans...(sure, not a perfect example) but we invented an electric device to notify us when someone is knocking at the door.

    <rips doorbell out of house>

    Now I'm saving energy;)

  6. So, I'm not an oil expert but at one time I heard that oil (and I won't say this right) is a world commodity...so my thinking is that any oil we produce would be put into the global oil stocks and every country would benefit from it. If we start drilling and saying "This is OUR oil" then other oil countries could say "This is everyone else but your oil" and we'd be 2 steps back on the supply and demand curve.

Not that I'm opposed to drilling here...if nothing else we could keep a TON of money in the US...so, on the economic side it seems it would help (cept all our industry being owned by foreign corporations...hehe) but would it add much more to the US dependency.

Course I may be way off base with my interpretation of what I heard.

  7. Yea, I got burned twice in the same instance by my bank...first because they do withdrawl before deposit so I overdrafted...then because when I signed up they said the "overdraft protection was free"...then the commercial kicked in..."unless you use it".

So, I took my lumps & cancelled the overdraft...stupid thing is that had I not had overdraft they would have simply retried to send the check the next day and it would have gone...

Does not appear to be what happened in your case...they just burned you plain & simple.

  8. The sheiks and Mullahs just sit back in their plush homes and temples telling the poor it's their duty to kill themselves and others. They hide in their churches while they dictate chaos at the expense of their people.

And this differs them from us in what way;-) I had to say it before NOFX did...hehe

Seriously, the only difference is how it's carried out. We send in tanks...they send in a bomb. Right or wrong, justified or not, the net effect is a bunch of dead people.

This is the reason we seperated church and state...this is why I cringe every single time a politician brings up his faith.

  9. Changes:

    1. Remove all government programs that deal with things the consumer should control.

    2. Reduce corporate taxes for US companies that employ US citizins.

    3. Work with other countries to create a world "police force". Yea, it ain't easy but it's the only way to go.

    4. Implement yearly vehicle emisions/safety testing and tax the heck out of innefficient cars.

    Goals:

    1. Reduce government spending and allow the free market economy to better control corporations.

    2. Bring the jobs home.

    3. Improve the world view of the US.

    4. Reduce emissions and encourage consumers to purchase more environmentally friendly vehicles.

Poke away...I ain't gonna win no elections:)

  10. I don't know why everyone says oil is not a renewable resource...all we need is a bunch of dinosaurs, a lot of water & some really frigid temperatures and a few thousand years...whamm-o...all the oil you can ask for.

Actually read an article the other day that said the gas price is causing some jobs to come back to the US. It's getting to where shipping costs more than having things made right here. Just a little positive spin on the gas price.

I am all for alternative fuels. I so want to put solar panels on my house but have the cost and the look issue (or at least my wifes aversion to the panels being seen). I'd also like to convert an old car to an electric motor...the only place I've located thus far (no, I am no mechanic) will take a new Saturn Ski (think thats right) and replace the motor with electric...problem? The car costs $25 grand and the conversion is another $25 grand.

  11. Ok, need to test out that sound setting cause the stupid crowd clapping off beat (morons need a video game to learn to clap) messes me up every time. I did make it up to the battle with Joe, though the jerk keeps death draining me...I kick his rear the whole way through & then lose it...gotta store up those powerups better eh?

Anyway...did it on medium so far and pretty much stayed in the 98+% with 2 songs at 100%. I just wanted to unlock it all before I attempt much on hard. I've done a few co-op songs on hard & some battles...but on the easy songs.

All in all I like it but I would have liked more Aerosmith songs that what I've seen thus far. Might be more but I'm assuming this battle is the end.

  12. First 3 sets done on medium...starting to pick up in difficulty which is nice. I agree that the lack of co-op career is a drag...don't know why you would remove it from the game but the multi-player does track the co-op it appears.

I've not hit any battles yet so I don't know if they exist. All in all it was just nice to get some new songs to try.

  13. Oh, could you imagine the riots against population control...

Something to consider there bush...(hopefully) you and your wife will be alive when your 2 kids each have 2 kids and possibly all of you will be alive when their kids have 2 kids...so, now your 2 is actually...ummm...damn...math on a Sunday morning...thats 16 people living and breathing which started from 2. Kinda like rabbits cept ya can't eat em...LOL

Course 40 or 50 years ago and you'd likely have died before your kids had children...then it would even out.

Our only hope is education...that and getting people to start having kids later in life so we don't have 3 or 4 generations living at one time...but then this is all just thinking by my sick mind and in general should be ignored.

  14. Ok, I really like Glen Beck. I found this very interesting.

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/06/25/beck.cons...ives/index.html

    I like these points.

A conservative believes that our inalienable rights do not include housing, healthcare or Hummers.

A conservative believes that our inalienable rights DO include the pursuit of happiness. That means it is guaranteed to no one.

A conservative believes that those who pursue happiness and find it have a right to not be penalized for that success.

A conservative believes that there are no protections against the hardship and heartache of failure. We believe that the right to fail is just as important as the chance to succeed and that those who do fail learn essential lessons that will help them the next time around.

A conservative believes in personal responsibility and accepts the consequences for his or her words and actions.

A conservative believes that real compassion can't be found in any government program.

A conservative believes that each of us has a duty to take care of our neighbors. It was private individuals, companies and congregations that sent water, blankets and supplies to New Orleans far before the government ever set foot there.

A conservative believes that family is the cornerstone of our society and that people have a right to manage their family any way they see fit, so long as it's not criminal. We are far more attuned to our family's needs than some faceless, soulless government program.

A conservative believes that people have a right to worship the God of their understanding. We also believe that people do not have the right to jam their version of God (or no God) down anybody else's throat.

A conservative believes that people go to the movies to be entertained and to church to be preached to, not the other way around.

A conservative believes that debt creates unhealthy relationships. Everyone, from the government on down, should live within their means and strive for financial independence.

A conservative believes that a child's education is the responsibility of the parents, not the government.

A conservative believes that every human being has a right to life, from conception to death.

A conservative believes in the smallest government you can get without anarchy. We know our history: The larger a government gets, the harder it will fall.

Though I don't fully agree with all of them I'd say enough fit me. Course I think quite a few of these cross over to the liberal side. Guess the point is that just cause your a conservative doesn't make you a republican eh?

  15. I don't mind people changing their minds...heck I kinda hope they are capable of that. What I'd like to see is the guy say "I changed my mind and this is why.". Then I can determine if it was an intelligent decision.

Regarding this...sounds like he is opening up for just what NoFx said is the problem. Private donations swaying the policy...maybe it won't happen but it does open the door.

  16. On topic...thats a very strange situation...course I was never aware of this campaign funding. From what I read it opens him up to the possibility of more funding for his campaign. Is that where you would get corporate funding? Going public? Quite a bit confusing but McCain will probably jump off that bridge too.

  17. Depends on your spend limit. I've been very happy with my hoover wind tunnels (on my 2nd now) but then I've never owned a dyson. I think my sister has one...the pet hair model...and they swear by it with the dog they had...course the thing was like 500 bucks :o

  18. Wow...that took my breath away reading that article. My thoughts certainly go out to you and their families. I can't even imagine.

  19. I found an article online referencing the fact that Bush used to e-mail people all the time as governor but had to give it up when he became president due to security concerns and the fact that there isn't a computer in the oval office (I'm guessing those two reasons are connected).

This explains why the secret service has been responding to my emails to Bush instead of him...and here I thought he just didn't like me and my ideas :peace:
