    Freeze problem

    when you have to hard boot it, go into the bios and check the temps immediatly, see what your hitting temp wise

     

    After you brought up the temp issue I checked my cpu fans and found one completely clogged with dust, cleaned it out and the core temps dropped 10 degrees C (monitoring temps with SpeedFan), I will see how this works out.

     

    My core temps were idling at 45 C, now they are sitting at 31-33 C.

    added obvious solution

    Every once in a while my PC will just freeze up:

     

    1. Mouse pointer freezes

     

    2. Ctrl-Alt-Del will not work.

     

    3. You have to shut down power to get it to restart.

     

    This is a Intel (QX6700) quad core machine running Vista 64 bit.

     

    Can anything be done about this? (other than buying a Mac).

    I think the orbs are a nice addition, it takes some skill to be a good orb runner, every person on the opposing team is out to stop you.

     

    On the other hand its fun to try and stop a orb runner who is approaching your sacked node.

    There are a lot of new players and weekend warriors out there, its hard to find a competitive game more now than before the Titan pack was released,

     

    But I take it that between the new pack and the Steam thingy there will be a lot of noobz in the servers, they are fun to watch though (as long as that are not on your team).

     

    I still have a lot of fun playing.

    The last IP address if Sayunkle's extreme UT3 server. Everything is berzerk mode and you will get the Unkimbo mod that gives you double weapons. It actually makes for some interesting game play.

    So did it fix the weapons and vehicles so they play more like ut2k4 or all the weapons still slugish. I wasn't impressed with the guns, the shots were off with the flakcannon and you just couldn't line up the shock balls like you could in 2k4. I most definatley did not like what they did with the hellbender but thats just me. I don't know, is the patch and the pack worth another try with it?

     

    I never had a problem with the weapons but your opponents are using the same ones so that kinda evens out.

     

     

    There is a large influx of new players out there.

    Moar than in 2k4 now?

     

    Well with the new pack/patch and Epic throwing out the freebies it has a lot of noobs, a few of the noob do have good DM skills, they just need to learn the basics of Warfare.

     

    I still have a lot of fun with UT3, I have liked the game since day one.

    Ruff, you've been playing this pretty steady. Any server suggestions?

     

    I hang out at the MOB, T5K, and UMG servers for stiffer competition but there is a little server called EpicServer2 that is a lot of fun.

     

    You will find a lot of noobs in UT3.
