    I don't see anything wrong with giving my old stuff away for free to my lil bro. :twitch: He currently has an athlon xp 3200 socket 939 with 512mb and an agp video card so he's due for an upgrade. :P

    Ok. I Tweaked my vid card a lil more from factory overclock and got a 3dmark06 score of 17522. 3dmark06 Score :smiling2:

     

    I will probably overclock my CPU to 3.8 or 4Ghz later on, but I don't want to deal with anything else above 40C right now. My video card already hits 60C on load and I'm probably going to get an aftermarket heatsink like the thermalright vga cooler for the gtx.

    I have the OCZ vendetta as well, the cooler isn't that heavy... so you shouldn't need to put a bracket on the back of the MOBO.

     

    I'm not a morning person so I was thinking something else but meant to say another thing. heh The reason I suggested he use a retention bracket is because the push-pin style on the OCZ Vendetta 2 will cause the motherboard to bow. I didn't want him to end up breaking the motherboard. When I installed it on my Evga 680i, I could see the motherboard was bent and also caused one of the heatsinks to lift up slightly and not make contact with the transistor located above the CPU. I never liked the push-pins either because there wasn't enough pressure between the base of the cooler and my cpu. After I used the retention bracket, my temps dropped a little more than 5 degrees so I didn't mind taking my motherboard out of the case and installing the bracket. :)

    CPU Cooler

    I used to have the ocz vendetta 2 cooler on my Q6600 overclocked to 3.2 and temps never rose above 55C on full load on all cores. I recently bought a Q9550 and a True 120 extreme which is lapped. My Q9550 is overclocked to a mild 3.4 @ 1.26V and temps don't go above 40C on load. The True 120 is expensive so if you want to stay on the low end on cost, the OCZ Vendetta 2 is around $50 bucks but the egg has a rebate making it 39.99

    I'd recommend using retention bracket so your motherboard won't bow using the push pin clips since the heatsink is slightly heavy.

    Wait, who was aliasing? I was dragonfly, and besides you and bush and one other guy, the competition was not much to talk about. Skallys I would have noticed right away, because he would have consistently had top score...

     

    Oh, If that person sucked, it was probably Flitter. *cough* :crazy:

     

    Yeah, I know you were dragonfly because that's why I commented on swatting flies when I was on the opposing team. :D

    Hey! I like that server because it gives me enough time to shoot 3 feet in front of dark so by the time he realizes what happened he get's hit! :biglaugha: j/k Yeah, I got lag spikes on that server too unless the number of ppl is down to 18 it's all good.

    I use the EVGA precision software and it allows me to independently manage core, shaders, and mem clock. I used to have problems with ntune where it would lockup because I could not control the shaders. If you don't have an EVGA 8800GT, I don't know if it will work though. Right now I have mine set at 700Mhz core, 1750Mhz shaders, & 1000Mhz mem clock up from a bone stock setup. I'm also using a Thermalright HR-03 GT cooler so my VGA temps don't go above 45 C and I don't have SLI or rivatuner, but I hope this info helps. :smillie_smilling:

    I have two factory overclocked 8800 GTs...their stock settings are 650 core/1900 memory.

    Cujo doesn't understand SLI? Well, let me put it like this: Crossfire copied it...now does it make sense? :smiling2: I figured once I put it in AMD/ATI terms you would get it!

    Ah. If you already tried the degaussing, the shop won't be able to fix it either. Guess the picture tube did get really banged up during shipment. I get those TV's like that and the only real solution when I don't have the tube in stock is to get a few strong magnets and move it around until the color isn't washed out and glue it on, but you have to take the cover off and do it while the monitor is on. I wouldn't suggest you do it because you could get electrocuted. Even then the color doesn't line up correctly and I have to wait for a tube replacement. The shop may be willing to do that for you but I don't know how much they will charge.

    Nope. I have the 6meg d/l and 512Kb u/l from Bellsouth...ermm AT&T They are barely rolling out the u-verse in my neighborhood and will be done in 3 months. WOOHOOO!!!! Until they upgrade the lines to fiber I can't go any faster. :(

    Next time get your aim back when you're on my team and loose it when your on the opposing side. :erm: heheh

    We are talking about this Saturday correct. I'm in for sure. Time sounds good too. However, are we going to give this a long kiss goodnight or are we all just going to pop in for an hour or two and call it a day. I for one would like to gear up for the long haul on this one.

     

    4 or 5 hours sounds good with about 2 boxes of hot pockets, a package of chew chips ahoy, with milk to wash that down and then some chips and salsa with plenty of beer!!! Ok, I'm good so are we all going to be there, ahem... HWarrior for starters, maybe you should make this a big GC outing and broadcast it. Just a thought.

     

    See you guys tomorrow night!!! By the way, perhaps we should all get on Vent for the night. I can post up the server IP or help with setup for those who would be new to Vent. Would be a lot of fun I think.

    I played with the 1-legged horse last night and I think it was the_wench? :P I play tam/freon but the soc server kinda lags for me so my hitscan is way off. I've been playing ons on the umgleague servers. I ran into 8th, pbrskallys, yerfdog and others who weren't noobs last night so I played til 2am like old times. :spin2:
