  1. Needs a good thinking upon but a small thing could always happen.

For as large as the community is now there aren't enough members clamoring for big meetup. Just the usual suspects. And when you are talking about 30 people not much needs to be planned.

If we knew we would (not could, would) get 90+ it gets super easy to do. Last few years, at peak L4D2, we got bupkis - outside of the usuals.

  2. Then yeah - works like this.

Wednesday: All players are free agents minus those that had claims put in for them earlier (which are claimed and stuck on whoever's team claimed them)

Thursday: Players still free agents. Once the Thrs night game begins all players on those two teams flip over to waivers and will stay there until Tuesday 11:59pm whatever timezone.

Friday: Everyone else still free agents.

Saturday: Everyone else still free agents. When the Saturday games start up the players on those teams will flip over to waivers until Tuesday 11:59pm after gametime.

Sunday: Rinse/repeat just like above. Once a game starts, the players involved flip over to waivers until Tuesday 11:59pm

Monday: Same thing for Monday night dudes.

Tuesday. Everyone should be on waivers.

    EXCEPTIONS:

You drop someone. They go on waivers for two days no matter when you drop them. For example. It's Wednesday, and you make a waiver claim for some dude. If you are successful you get your guy and whoever you marked to drop on your team is then dropped. Even though it's free agent Wednesday your just dropped guy hits waivers for two days and won't be a free agent until Friday. I imagine you can hit situations where a guy that is dropped on a Saturday and would normally be a free agent on Monday has their team playing on Sunday so they stay on waivers until Wednesday. Not sure if that's the case but wouldn't surprise me.

Also teams that are on a bye week are different.

  3. ...got around to getting the long-gone authenticator off my account today (phone broke two years back it seems...)

Just waiting on Amazon for Reaper now. I could have spent the same at Gamestop for a digital but that seemed wrong on all accounts.

  4. The first entered PC will be my 2007 build :(

The build thread is still here in the forums...

Auto-populate. Now you actually want me to work. But I have thought about it...

  5. So, there's gonna be some changes around here in a month or so. Forums moving from the circa late-2000's era up into the now times with content streams and responsive things and all that.

One thing I've always wanted to get around to doing was Rig Fight! We all have computers, some better than others. Occasionally someone will drop a build thread as they create their latest monster gaming machine.  But alas, we have no community record of who's gaming with what, how fast (slow) it is, and so on.

I could have done this a year or two ago but now, it's kinda easy peasy to pull off. So, as part of the community refresh inbound I figure this can come along for the ride. Hell, can even give out prizes on a yearly basis and so on. You get the idea.

So, what would you want for community DB of this nature? Out of the gate I got this:

    Type (Desktop/Laptop/Other)

    Operating System

    CPU Make

    CPU Model

    CPU Stock Speed

CPU Operating Speed (Current speed for overclockers)

    Memory Size (GBs)

    Primary Storage (HD/SSD/Memory)

    Primary HD/SSD Make

    Primary HD/SSD Size

Standard text box for you to blither about in about how great your PC is.

Image upload pile for you to dump all the glorious pictures of your special snowflake.

After that, well, sky's the limit. I imagine we'll want fields PCMark 7 and 8, 3D Marks of various flavors.

    Monitor Make/Model

    Standard screen res.

Gets a bit tricky with dual card people but otherwise video card make and model, video card memory (total?), shader count?

    Case make. Uhh...

Cost too. Will be interesting to see how people do value wise. Also to laugh years later after spending $xxxx only to see some $30 part from China two years later equal it in performance :)

Naturally all this is browsable, sortable, etc.

    Have at it!
