  1. Not too sure then.

My initial problem with the 24" was my video card, 7800 GT.

FPS was good, always above 60, but I got mouse lag like you.

Did the DPI thing, got better. Switched to a different DVI cable, even better.

    Reformatted, went X1900XTX, flawless. :]

I've read tons of forums, some people have issues with mouse lag, some don't. Don't know what causes it, or how people fix it. Well, in Oblivion, they set render ahead from 3 to 0 and that fix's it for the one game.

  2. I went through this problem awhile ago Cujo.

You need to bump up to 1600 or 2000 DPI on your mouse.

Then lower your desktop or in-game mouse sensitivity to get things back to comfortable.

    It's an annoying process....

Option two, set the monitor to 1:1 and run at 1600x1200 with the black bars.

  3. I'M MORE BORED THAN ALL OF YOU PUT TOGETHER, THIS IS THE SLOWEST FRIDAY EVER.

I'm also hung over and spent 10 minutes staring at a pile of change on my desk...

    Any baseball fans here.

  4. He rushes every round and catches people off guard. There's a few .gc members that do the same thing every round with p90's and do very well KPD wise.

Not all 3:1 ratio players hold back for a minute and a half, bait teammates, play cleanup and pick people off with AK's and AWPS.

    :wiggle2:

Best way to catch a haqr is record the demo, and watch it in wireframe mode.

  5. I went with a Dell 2405.

Every few days there's a new summer sale. Hold off until you see the 15% off deal (always comes with free shipping!).

    OR

Go on EBay and try to find a %30 off Dell coupon (they go for around $30-50).

  6. http://slickdeals.net/#p7443

    Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW $999 - 30% - $60 VZ88CG$L8NQR0C = $639 + tax <--

    Sub-total $639.30

    Shipping & Handling $11.00

    Shipping & Handling Discount -$11.00

    Tax $38.36

    Total Price $677.66

Hell of a deal if anyone is looking for a new monitor.

:o ***Actually, I just checked and the 2405FPW is now $849.15!!! That makes the monitor $534?***

I know some people buy the 30% off coupons on eBay (they are usually around $20). If you click the comments link at 'http://slickdeals.net/#p7443'; it seems that people sign up for a Dell business login and get the coupons that way? One per customer I guess?

  7. I use, Sony MDR-EX71 and Shure e2c.

I like comfortable sound isolation buds with a little more oomph in the bass. These let you hear alot more at low volumes so you don't go deaf.

The Shure e3c, Etymotic ER-6i, Super Fi. 5 don't have the heavy bass I like, but dominate mid and high range.

Earmuff style bothers me after 5 minutes. Canal type, you don't even know your wearing them.

  8. "May I ask why you are selling after having it for all of 4 months?"

My 19" Lacie CRT died, so I ended up replacing it with some big screen LCD madness.

To run resolutions like 1920x1220 and 2560x1600 with all the bells and whistles, you need to either SLI or get a X1900XTX/7900GTX.

I went ATI because I got a REALLY good deal through a friend. :(

  9. Doh, didn't notice I had an extra hop.

" the more hops the better chance of something going wrong."

The extra hop is the edge router for dedicated servers. It's probably about 10 feet away from the gc server.

Like the Linksys router you've got plugged into your modem, maybe it adds a whole 0.1 onto your latency.

I'm gonna go do some more fraggin.

I don't know, I guess I'm the odd one of the bunch.

  11. I'm at work, so I'll post my traceroutes tonight.

I have Sympatico Ultra BTW. It does route differently than the regular and high speed packages.

Sometimes for worse, sometimes for better.

I remember on a few of the match servers we played on for CAL, you pinged 20 less than me. :P

  12. nice shot!

theres a weird halo around the buildings that makes it stick out from the sky.

do you have the original? i've been goofin off with my new mactel 20" at work :P i'd like to take a swing at it.

They've released about FIVE beta updates within the last month. Fix's alot of crashes yadda yadda.

I don't have the breakdown of what was fixed in each release.

Not sure when they will issue a full update to srcds, but the betas have never failed me.

BTW, I've gone from 10+ crashes per month, to 0.

  14. Yeah, the 24-70 is a BEAST. And it doesn't balance right with my XT. But it's the money shot lens for a reason! I bought it used for $900...

Since my post in Nov, I've picked up a new prime. I wanted a small and fast prime for daily walkaround use.

    Canon 35mm f/2.0 (sub $200)

(I didn't take these photos, but the guy beind the camera is using my lens :P)

  15. Adobe has created an alternative called 'Lightroom'. You can download the BETA for free. I hear there will be a PC version soon. Keep an eye on this software, as it will most likely provide some good PS CS2/CS3 features.

    As for Aperture...

On a Dual G5, an album with 100 RAW images at 12MP makes my computer unhappy. I just find the entire program sluggish. Other than that, I find that it doesn't have enough post processing capabilities. You end up having to do the majority of the work in PS CS2...

But, it is a sleek program, great UI. I choose quality and speed over fancy looks.

At home on my PC, I use Capture One and PS CS2.
