I was afraid to go to the casinos last night after I finished searching for places and had dinner so I stopped at Border's and picked up the 3rd option. I almost finished it, and should be done by the time I land in Indy. It makes lots of references to the white house take over I obviously picked the wrong place to start, but I'm glad you made the reco. It's been a fun read!

How does it compare to Clancy or Ludlum? I used to love Clancy, but after reading Ludlum, Clancy feels like amateur hour. I might just have to find a book store and read a chapter or two...I could use a book for the flight home.

Wellllll...I'm out here and it's over 100 degrees. I was kinda nervous because it's been awhile since I've been out here, but over 100 degrees is actually comfortable compared to Indiana at 85!

I drove by the office and it is very nice, I go there tomorrow to meet everyone and all that. I'm flying back to Indiana sometime on Wednesday, and I have found an apartment that I am willing to move into if I don't find anything else.

Still wish it would have been a more instensive commando-based raid that might have had more casualities but would have gotten a lot more Hezbollah folks and alienated fewer Lebanese & other Arabs that already didn't like Hezbollah.

Hehe I was working on getting a job in Minneapolis, but I live in Indianapolis until I move to Las Vegas in a week or two. I'm flying out on Monday to find a place and meet everyone...so I'll probably be making the trip alone and by airplane (unless Moss flies out of vegas).

HP finally got back with me about the launch manager position for their printer business. Gotta be quicker if they want Chief on the intramural counter strike team. But I was hoping that I would move out there without anyone making me wonder if I made the best decision lol!

I am flying out Monday morning to go and meet everyone and look for housing. Thanks for everyone's support. It took less than one week to go from 1st call to getting the job, and I'm sure that everyone had a big part to play in making it happen.

Spooky fact:

It was almost exactly 7 days from my first post to the time that the HR lady called with the offer. 7 days and a few hours until I negotiated the final package.

Anybody with a 401k or pension fund that invests has a pretty good chance of having oil investments...they're blue chip stocks, so most people with a job that have retirement savings have oil investments...just not quite in the same way.

And I don't think the problem is so much a matter of removing Sadam as it was in not contuing to bolster the force with sufficient troop strength to provdie security from the inital looting to the ongoing border problems. It's been a game of "bop the weasel" because there weren't enough forces to plug all the wholes at once. That was shortsighted planning.

IMO the biggest failure has been on the administration's ability to work with people. Clinton or Reagan would have made friends with other Arabs like the Saudis to get them to go into the county and take a leading role in helping them solve their own problems.

With modern communication and travel, the oceans no longer isolate America from problems the rest of the world has had to deal with for a long long time. Terrorism is here, and we're going to have to figure out how to keep being American. A couple of years from now a new administration (rep or dem) will be a breath of fresh air and hopefully help our morale.
