  1. As of today I am leaving GamersCoalition. As a lead admin for a short period of time, I got to see how GC is really run behind the scenes, and it's not pretty.

However, this post is not here to be a complaint, the people "high up" know who they are. After my resignation from Admin, I voiced my opinion straight up and told it how it was. This rained on the "higher ups'" parade because they're use to the sucking up, and my GC membership was revoked. It's funny how some people can dish it out but not take it in.

It was very pleasurable playing with a lot of you on the GamersCoalition servers - I've met a lot of great people and it's sad that a few bad apples that no longer consider GC a "gaming community" but rather a "business" had to ruin it.

I will continue to play Counter Strike on our new clan server (no, this is not a cheap plug, just a place where people can find me, so don't get the panties in a twist), so make sure you stop in.

    It's been fun - goodbye!

  2. I've had a wired netgear router for about 2 years and loved it. However, I went out and bought the Netgear wireless router when my laptop arrived and had to return it. It made the internet run slow (56k speed) on all of the computers, even the computers that have a wired connection. I exchanged it for a D-Link and now have no problems.

  3. I upgraded to a 9-cell Lithium Ion battery, which gets about 5 hours of battery life. Speaking of Dell desktops - yes, they are very expensive. When I bought my Dell XPS about 2 years ago, I paid $2500 for the following:

    1 GB RAM

    120 GB HD

    17" CRT Monitor

    ATI 9800 128MB Video Card

    Pentium 3.0 GHZ Processor

I have now since upgraded to an ATI X800XL 256MB card and the computer still runs every game to it's highest settings. However, I look at their new XPSs now, and they start at half the price, lol.

  4. I just purchased a new Inspiron 9300 from Dell, for $1700. Here are the specs:

    Pentium M 760 Processor (2GHz/533MHz FSB)

17 inch UltraSharp Wide ScreenXGA+ Display

    1GB, DDR2, 533MHz RAM

256MB NVIDIA 6800 GO Video Card

    80GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive

Does anyone have this laptop or has had experience with it - if so, what do you think? Also, for you computer techies out there, did I make a good purchase in your opinion?

  6. Big Bones,

It is obvious by your post that you have not the slightest clue what you're talking about. So, if you would like for me to give you some facts, which would maybe lead to a coherent response, feel free to private message me.

In the meantime, do not come into this topic and spew garbage and degrade myself and Pagan's character. You were not there, it’s obvious you’re not familiar with DOD, and it’s also obvious that you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Let me explain to you what an “e-thug is as you so eloquently put it. It’s someone who hacks, cheats, spams voice chat, swears, team kills, or does other illegal acts. Key word there is illegal; put that in your mind for a few seconds.

What Pagan and I did was boost into spawn to hold back the enemy at spawn, which is NOT illegal. Being that it’s not illegal, that totally voids the argument of us being an e-thug, right?

So before you try to add your two cents next time, make sure it’s not complete garbage that I can completely refute and make void.

  7. It was myself and Pagan that he is referring to, and no - it was not a GC server. We were just trying out to see if we could be boosted into different areas and I think he forgot to mention the profanity he threw our way while we were doing it.

    Think before you post, please.

  8. Zero - don't let the oil companies off the hook that fast. There is a number of things they can do to lower the gas price, don't fool yourself. For one, they could cut about 20% of their total income VOLUNTARILY, not mandatory, for a short period of time unitl the pipe lines are up to full power once again - however, they have thus far chose not to.

Just for a little info - it costs a little over $4.00 per barrel of oil - they are being sold at $69.00 - that's a HUGE percentage increase - so I don't believe for one minute they can cut at the LEAST 20% of that income for the poor folks in the South and for the better of the country.

The oil companies know exactly what they're doing.

  9. Cheapest here in Southeastern lower Michigan is $3.39. It would take approximately $75.00 to fill up my truck, which has a 22 gallon tank. Yup, I'm gonna' be poor.

By the way, that picture of the $5.87 is from Atlanta, Georgia, which has been the hardest hit from the aftereffects of Katrina as far as gas goes, 87% of their gas came from pipelines that ran through Louisiana.

Gas is expected to be near $5.00 EVERYWHERE by the middle of next week.
