Hmmmm, need to install the demo, and see if I like it better than BFV, which I hated. :/

I may have had an experience with something similar. My wife is using my old 2800+ with a 9600xt to play SWG. The computer had 512 RAM. She said she was getting some frame rate drops in heavy firefights, and when she was in a large hunting party. I dropped an additional 512 meg in, and since then she has had no more issues with framerates dropping.
Just my personal experience.

Yeah, we played a lot, but I also had to miss a lot of the events on Sarurday for a funeral so that cut down on my socializing time too.
Stayed and played as late as my body would allow, but after being up for 22 hours, and being on the road for nearly 5 of those, I had to call it quits at 3:30 sunday morn. Had a wonderful time at FF, and will be there next year.

However, why would I be more scared of a white guy with a rucksack?
Because what would be the chances of seeing that?!
Well, I suppose you have a point there.

Thanks to everyone for an awesome time. Special thanks to Fatty, HPD, and the Coalition for all the logistical work that went into this.
Thanks to Bigshaw, Comma, Zester, Acid, Bear, m0m, and everybody else I hung out, and laughed with during the abbreviated time I was there. Batman, sorry we didn't hook up, but there's always GW, and next years FF!
Everyone was super nice and made me feel like I'd known you guys for years.
Bigshaw, I'll definitely spend more time on stock so you'll have another head to target.

I agree with that. All you need to do is look at who the vast majority of those who commit these crimes are. They aren't white college age kids. Not saying muslims are terrorists, of course, but the majority of the terrorists who plant the bombs, fly planes into buildings, and detonate themselves around women and children just happen to be muslims...

Yeah, I did hear about that. My thinking is, dude, if an officer of the law, with a gun tells you to stop running toward a train, especially after there have been bombings there, you BETTER stop. It's sad that he got shot, but he should have obeyed the officer. If he had done so, he would be alive and well today.
In my opinion, the cops did the only thing they could do in that instance. Stop him at all costs.

Everyone in my group got up @ 4 A.M. We managed to get on the road by 5 A.M.
Took us a good 8.5 hours to get here.
The Ohio Turnpike was insane, we had to go 20 mph OVER the speed limit just to keep up with normal traffic.
Heh, yeah, around these parts, it's more like a "suggested speed", and less of a limit. At least we treat it as such.
Just don't use that as an excuse if you get pulled over. "Honest Officer, Wolfsblood said we could."

whos got next pool game?
I don't know, but Fatty reportedly won 12 in a row at TP's earlier tonight....
-
"but why go to Ohio to play a game?" x 100 times!!! luckly my wife was not one of those people.
But what else is there to do here? lol!

Acid is right on the money. Marriage is a legal contract, and each party IS responsible for the other's debt. At least in Ohio that is the case. Please check to see if that is the case in Maryland as well.
I know you don't want to make your (soon-to-be) ex-wife's life any harder than it is right now, and that is comendable (I couldn't do that) but it is more than reasonable for a judge to conclude that she helped run up those debts.
It truely doesn't matter whose name the cards, or debt is in, if you're married, the debt is both parties debt.
God Bless you man, we'll keep you in our prayers.
Wolfsblood.

With this work with my US Robotics 28.8 modem?
Is it ISA, PCI or external? That *might* make a differance, although I doubt it.
-
Well, new board in and running. Was able to connect to various css servers, and ran ut2k4 with no probs. .
-
Absolutely. The first thing my boss said when I told him there was no way I could work this weekend, was "Why?, Going to a Star Trek Convention?" I said, "No, even better! A computer LAN party! I get to pack up all my equipment and go to a hotel to set it all up again, and play games with the same people I play css with over the internet."
I think the point where I started mentioning the numbers of people regestered and that "Corsair, and Muskin RAM were sponsoring us" was the point where he was like "ummm, who are they?" lol
My wife thinks it's cool, but then again, she's a gamer, currently completely addicted to SWG, so she understands the whole gamer mentality. My brother was way more confused when I told him I couldn't play softball. I didn't even bother to give him the detailed explanation, as I think the last computer games he played were on a 80286, although he does play some console games now and then.
ummm, yeah, most people think I'm uber geek for this.

Next time my computer needs a fix up, I'll remember to park the car in my bedroom so I can get enough light.... or I'll just turn the light on
lol, I have. well, not so good eyes. The headlamp was definitely helpful when building my system. I was able to read the itty bitty wrtiting on the board with the help of the light.
Oh, and the "headlamps" I'm referring to, are not the ones on the car, but rather a lamp that you wear on your head, kinda like a minor's lamp.

Hey Roomie. Looks like I should be able to game Friday night, just won't be staying. Will be driving to Southern OH for 11 am funeral. Will be back Sat late afternoon/ early evening, and will be staying the night, if the room is available. If not, it won't be the first time I slept in front of my comp, lol.
Just got the computer re-built (another case of me being stoopid. ), and was able to connect to the stock servers, so all is good for gaming.
Be safe in the drive in, and I'll see ya tomorrow at TP's.

I'm still going to try to make it to TP's on Thursday, and yeah, Sat night isn't totally out of the question, so we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers guys.

Well not sure who read my post in Hardware about killing my mobo. Today, I got news that makes that rather irrelevant. Got a call from my dad today to let me know that my Grandma passed away today, and that the calling hours will prolly be Friday night, with the funeral Saturday.
It will take place either in Cincinatti (4 hours away) or in Woodsfield, OH (2 1/2 hours away just North of Marietta)
Kinda put a damper on the already un-fun task of dismantling my computer.
Everyone have fun, and depending on how things go this week, I may still be able to make an apperance, although I kinda doubt it.
Later,
Wolfsblood.

Heh, the way i drive, Chi-town is only about 5 hours from Hudson, OH. Slowpoke. j/k, be safe and make sure you and your comp arrives safely.

uhhh. what's a ccfl?
Sorry, cold cathode flouride lamp. Like the one Fatty was auctioning off in the trailer from last year, but mine are blacklight, not "cherry red cold cathode lamps, man",

Always one for good timing, my mobo has apparently died. The Computer crashed while playing Guild Wars, and when I went to re-boot, it just came up to the ASUS A8n-SLi Deluxe splash screen.
Worse than that is the fact that I may have had a hand in killing it. I had taken the side window off to clean it out, and when I re-connected my ccfl's, I pluged them into the wrong pass-through connector. Turns out, they were being powered by a mobo fan connector.
Now the race to re-build the system begins.
Any other ideas as to why it now doesn't boot? System itself isn't the problem, psu is solid, and it's been cruising along fine since built it in January....
New mobo ordered, should be here tuesday... Might have to miss the night out at TP on thursday depending on how the re-build goes......
-
I'll be there, it remains to be seen if my comp makes it..... it went kablooey today...
I'll guess 95 gamers.
