  1. Awesome. I'm Malechai (I think that's how I spelled it in game--will check when I get home. Slaughter is Gimshaw, and I will find out Bilbo's name later. My other brother might be getting in on the fun too, so we could have a GC kinship! :boing:

  2. It has a feature where, if you don't play for a while, you get a rather decent bonus to experience point gain, so keeping up with the hardcore gamers is EASIER, but you know, you just can't outpaced those unemployed super-nerds. :)

That being said, all of us guys that are playing are employed and busy as all get-out. It's a good game--might be worth a shot!

  3. Slaughter, Bilbo (my brother, whom you may remember), and I are playing LotRO (when we have time), and it is now free to play. You can, of course, buy stuff with real money for the game, but so far that doesn't seem overly necessary.

Anyone interested in playing? Oh, LotRO = Lord of the Rings Online, by the way. :peace:

  4. I maintain 6 computers personally running Win 7 64 and I know people that constitute several more (3 I can think of that I talk to regularly), and I've never had this problem.

Now, I remember a long time ago (I was running XP at the time) I started to randomly lose data. Sometimes I'd reboot and the files would be back, and sometimes they wouldn't.

I bought a new hard drive, and the problem went away.

Your login problem almost seemed to specific to be an HDD problem, but the fact that your computer failed to even recognize Windows was installed at one point leads me to believe it may be--something could be screwed up in the boot-sector, but I'd have to do more research to be sure. My advice, to be safe, would be to buy a new hard drive (they are crazy cheap--NewEgg sometimes sells 1GB drives for $40 on sale!).

Worst case scenario: you upgrade your storage capacity and are down $40 to $60 and it turns out to simply be a Windows 7 bug. I would at least try a fresh install if nothing else. :peace:

  5. Hrmm.

Your mediocre attempt to generate activity has met with some marginal success.

    Hiya!

You've ruined the magic now. :bang:

  6. I would say, if you're planning on running another 100k miles on that car to start using synthetic.

Synthetic doesn't just run cleaner, it is significantly more efficient. The REASON it runs cleaner is because there is less wear on your engine--the metal doesn't scrape as hard against other metal causing less bits and pieces of metal in your engine. Because of the uniformity of molecules in the synthetic oil, it also doesn't run nearly as hot, causing less stress on the metals in your engine.

Once you start on Synthetic, you can't go back, however. It's what you should always use from now on, but I think it's worth it, especially if you're wanting to keep the car that long. :peace:

  7. If you do research on synthetic, it is waaay better than traditional oil--but at 180k + miles, the benefits will be negligible unless you're planning on keeping the car to 280k miles. I put synthetic in both of our cars, but we've been doing that from 6k miles and 30k miles. It's extremely good for the engine, but the earlier you start, the better.

I'd say, if you're changing the oil yourself, buy synthetic (it's not THAT much more expensive). If you're getting it changed, just go to Valvoline and get their high mileage stuff, because the price difference for synthetic vs traditional is not proportional to the difference you'd pay at Autozone.

    That's Mav's 2-cents. :peace:

  8. We have several ASUS monitors floating around the office that we really like. We had a Hanns-G that went bad and one that is still good--I have Viewsonic at home that I really like, and Samsung makes a good LCD panel.

Uumm...in other words, I think they're all good choices--pick the one you like the best. :-)

  9. I've been back into Mass Effect 2...what a sweet game--I bought the downloadable content and am in the process of saving the universe from the Collectors/Reapers again.

  10. Most of us in Haze are waiting for this game. We are so sick of the cheaters in MW2 that a good 75% of are not even playing the game any more or only in competitive play. A good number of us are currently playing HoN or LoL.

Good thing they killed dedicated servers to cut down on the cheating . . . :peace:
