  1. Hey, no problem at all. Congrats to Bub on his promotoion (I think) :-)

Thanks for the update Pavid! I know maintaining stats can be quite cumbersome...I've got some friends that do it. So, like I said, I'm not worried 'bout it at all, was just curious.

Also tell Bub thanks for all the hard work!

Kick butt and take names! :erm:

  2. I gotta ask, since I can't see where other people have: any word on the stats? The funny thing is, I don't really care that much about them, I just like to go on and see which gun I'm best with. :-)

It's usually the p228 and the m4....but who knows, that could change. Anyway, I'm just curious. What happened that made the crash anyway?

  3. GG guys, lots of fun, definately! :freak3:

Wish I could handle that map as a CT though...lol...I can't wait to play a map I like! :-)

  4. You know, I thought I should add one more thing: thanks for keeping the servers going for so long. I'd be depressed if I had to go and find another server after playing on .gc for so long. I mean...I came over with guys from SAB, which was a LOOOONG time ago, and have since lost track of how long I've played on GC. So keep up the good work, and consider making me an admin for free! (j/k)

    :peace:

  5. Ok, so here's my idea:

I played in a server the other day where you could actually MOVE objects around without bouncing off them like some half-drunk monkey. It was easy to set up effective barriers because you weren't tossing a grenade in a corner and HOPING that the filing cabinets land correctly, or shooting a barrel into a doorway and hoping it stops where you wanted to. You just push the stuff around, and, like in real life, the more stuff you put in the way, the harder it is to remove it. In other words, if you put one barrel in a doorway in real life, someone will kick it out of the way or step over it. However, if you put three barrels stacked against one another in the same doorway the person trying to get through will have a hard time about it.

My idea is simple. From what I've heard you can achieve these more realistic objects through simply changing a setting. For me, actually being able to build barricades and not bouncing off of inanimate objects that shouldn't be able to push me around makes the game 10 times better.

So what do you guys think? Could we institute more realistic objects? :bang:

  6. So yeah...I didn't realize signups were going on (my computer was down for WAY too long) but I've heard a lot of people have dropped, or there have been AFK's, so if any teams need me, let me know. My xfire name is cslsMaverick, my AIM name is Lax Beast 25 (yeah, that takes some explaining), and my e-mail is qlawman@sssnet.com. I'll start idling on xfire when I'm home, so let me know if you guys need an extra man or a ringer.

I really wanted to play this year too... :bang:

  7. Thanks for participating in that pole guys. You made my project a lot better, and I appreciate you guys taking the time to help me out!

Just wanted to post up and say thanks!

Back to work for me! :bang:

  8. I figured that I would "whip up" this other post so that we could talk of the actual particulars in building gaming PC's in here. :D

Six, I do the same thing, and that's sorta where this idea for a class project came from. I've built a few for people for some cash, and they work better than most store bought PC's (including alienware)

The trick is www.pricewatch.com cheap parts, just make sure you stick to the companies with good standing.

I built my computer at home like this:

Intel Pentium 4 3.0 ghz 800mhz FSB (I can overclock to about 3.5 if I ever need to)

ASUS P4p800s motherboard (it is VITAL to get a good motherboard!)

1 GB Kingston Hyper X PC3200 ram (faster than all get out)

19" Viewsonic moniter (nice, but I want a bigger one soon)

Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum ZS (beautiful sound card)

ATI 9600xt (my weakest point, but I'll upgrade some-time this year)

all in all, I run CS at an average of about 50 to 80 fps, bottoming out at 34 or so, and topping off at 120.

Halflife 2 runs beautifully, and with that kingston RAM, the load times are actually pretty quick

I can still play anything on the shelf, even with my slightly out-dated graphics card, which just goes to show, buying the best just delays the length of time before you need to upgrade!

If anyone is interested in building a PC or having a PC built for them (cheaper than buying one from any company by a LOT) then let me know!

  9. Thanks for creating that poll for me, I appreciate it! :-)

Also, think of it this way: instead of price not mattering, think of each one costing the same amount of money

    That makes more sense

and, like the post says, this is for gaming!

    Thanks for participating guys!

You know I love the GC!
