    Shattered Horizons

    Was watching the videos thru steam tonight. I get the impression that its a 3-Dimensional CSS. Can anyone confirm/refute this? I cant tell for sure if its co-op, open MP, or XvX. But I have to admit, it looks really interesting.

     

    What is ANYones experience with it?

    Can it be run on a pub server?

    Its CHEAP!

    WOAH!!!! didnt realize it was DX10 only.

    That cuts the numbers for sure.

    But then again, it may NOT be a bad thing to try out?

    I also noticed #3 on an anonymous visit to the server.

    I didnt act on it at that time for the simple reason that I try to avoid using admin menus when my evening's diet was largely liquid.

     

    Trying to get active in the server again is something I have has a short term goal as well. Ive been missing it, and have decided that my odd ping issues arent going to get me down :) ( Still 100+ to the server here, even though I can ping LA etc. at 80). Also, Im starting to get my school/work/ new baby life under control.

     

    Good post Stutters. I agree with the 3 (+/-?) day rule. Even though I havent been playing as much, Im still a regular forums visitor. That should be the norm for admins on up.

     

    I agree with Flitter about events. Unless someone can REALLY take those on, its a little redundant to push for them.

     

    And YES, we obviously need to maintain a community run server. Not just for CSS, but also for games that may be forth coming.

    read about claptrap getting stuck sometimes in the forums (same forums I linked above- different thread sets I think)

     

    I mightve read about a workaround..cant remember. Worth a look anyway.

    Heh...I read Norgs, then forgot that I had read it. I believe alcohol ( a lot! ) was involved in that event. I was wondering what you were talking about, so I scrolled up and as soon as I saw it, I remembered it :)

    Hhhahahah wow. (oh - at 1920x1080)

    With the turbo OFF, and the GPU 100% stock (I never run it that way...was for fun), and running the CPU at 2.8 (never happens, I have to actively disable the turbo to make it hold that slow at stock).....

    I got 285.96 fps in css.....that is just .... wow.

    I wonder what Q3 Arena will get me :)

    Someday, Ill drink too much, and run the same test OCd....

    Skill points will improve your sniping, as well as better guns. Its an accuracy rating. ( Cone of Fire)

     

    Levels will matter because of Hit points, skill points etc, and the quality of weapons and armor (can you give a friend a better shield or gun in this game?)

     

    Or you can probably grab better equip when playing with higher level others'.

     

    But levels only help with some things, its still and FPS in that regard.

    Seriously, Im still looking for a game that can meet the bar that FO3 set. There was plenty that could be improved on it sure, but for scenery and atmosphere, it set the new bar.

    Running Vista 64 till my 7 gets here:

    I have 2 640 gigs from sig below. One is C: one is E:

    C is showing 113 Gig used, NTFS formatting.

     

    I dont have 113 gig on it...

    Even if I manually check each folder...Im looking at about 30 gig used total, and 10 more reserved for recycle

    When I pull up the properties for both C: and E: I notice that, as the only differences, I do not have indexing selected for C: and I have another tab called customize for E:

     

    So my questions are:

    Whered all my space go? Is it a windows thing? Is it because I didnt index?

    Why do I have a diff tab on E?
