  1. A friend of mine has a sanyo pro 700 cell phone that he wants to hook up to his laptop via usb to charge. The problem is, is that vista recongnizes it as a external modem and won't charge, he not going to use it as an external modem. While plugging it in an XP machine it doesn't look for the external modem driver and charges. I've tried everything I could think of and couldn't get it to work on vista. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it.

    Thanks,

  2. Sounds like a lot of fun! I'd love to visit Japan sometime. The people would all yell: Goooooozzzzilllaaaaaa!!! since I'm 6'4 and Japanese people are tiny :)

You're thinking of the Chinese. But I'm sure its just a generality for most asians :)

I disagree, I've only spent one day in Japan but it reminded me of Shanghai which I lived at for over 1.5 years. I'm 6' on a good day and out of a 100 ppl I would come maybe one would be my height.

Enjoy the stay, the toilets rock... After a 24 hour flight from Detroit and having to stay the night in Tokyo on a somewhat cold October evening and have a warm toilet seat to sit on supprised me and was pretty cool at the same time, I felt I was sitting in Vaders sphere with all of the gadgets on it to play with.

The food rocks and one thing that the Japanese are not known for is steaks if your into that kind of thing. It may of been just were I ate but it was one of the better ones. The western food in general was a lot better than even some of the 4 star restaurant's I ate at in Shanghai.

  3. I don't think it's at all socialism under the circumstances. These companies are taking our money so they can survive...if they can afford multi million dollar salaries, they can save their own companies. The people simply will not stand for CEO's raking in millions after taking gov't help to survive, and rightly so.

I agree with you 100% but it is still Socialism.

  4. Why are the republicans against capping out CEO pay at $500,000 a year for the companies who borrow money from the government so they don't go bankrupt?

The logic with capping high executives pay make sense right now, but in principle it's Socialism. However I think that they should take a pay cut until things turn around. I just took a 14% pay cut just to keep my job.

  5. I have to add that Qwest is awesome. I get 5 down and a little over 1 up. And I don't pay crap for it, not like Michigan that is. $30 bucks or something like that. Acs is offering 30 down and I'm not sure the deal is, but it's cable for the same price. But I had a lot of problems with them in the past, I live in a 100 unit condo so the connection kind of sucked, and I always preferred DSL over cable. I get pretty much no choke on Retro with DSL, with cable i would run in the 30's. In Michigan with AT&T dsl I was under 15ms to Retro but i still had choke problems, and it wasn't my configuration.

reason for edit is that I can't type well. Normally I can but I've had six beers..

  6. Pretty much everything that SJ said. I currently have Qwest up here in the hinterland. I only called in one time for a tech problem and the first thing she ask me how would I rate my computer skillz beginner, moderate, or advanced. I told her and she said ok so I take it you restarted your modem, and router.

So they automaticaly think you don't know anything about technology? Or were they just rude?.

I think his point is not that they were rude or assumed anything, his point was that they wanted to know what level of experience the customer has so they dont have to talk down or dumb to them because they dont know anything, at which point people like us get mad because we are being treated like we are dumb. They want to be able to talk at a certain level with the customers own understanding of the problem i think. I'd rather them ask me my computer skills right away every time than assume I know nothing and be like, "Ok now can you locate you modem? It should be a little plastic box that your internet cable goes into, you know what the internet cable looks like?" At which point i rage and go, "AHHHH I'M NOT dumb!!"

    what he said...

  8. HBD ZD!!

This day is similar to 911 which I will never forget. I was watching it live on TV in my 6th grade class. I remember my teacher going "Oh no!" when it blew up, they didn't send us home early though. They talked to us about the tragety for the rest of the day.

  9. I don't know if they come with the inputs I need to plug in a guitar cable, etc. or if I need to mod the Mac, but I'm still trying to learn about this now.

I think your going to want to get a mixing board. An 8 channel should be sufficient for what you are looking at doing. I don't know a whole lot about this stuff, but my old roommate had a nice set-up. He had some sort of module that he interfaced his computer (via usb) and his mixing board I think with 1/4" jacks.

  10. No.. no one squeeled or spun anything. I was in my hometown which consists of about 2-3 stoplights. I have to give my truck quite a bit of gas and get the engine up to some RPMS just to pull out into traffic down here in the city without causing a wreck. So the engine does sound like I'm trying to take off, but in reality, it's just working very hard to pull itself along.

Anyway, he pulled me over for this and since I wasn't really doing anything wrong, he just claims I was spinning tires..

The problem is much more than just this because the gimmick they have going on back in this small town is this.. They only have about 2 or 3 bars there, so the cops just sit outside the bars and wait to pull people over as they leave... I wasn't that much over the limit either, but alcohol was fresh on my breath so it made the initial test seem really high..

Sucks to live by yourself and lose your license for a year. I won't be able to travel home to see my family for a year. I also work for a division in florida and I travel down there. What am I supposed to do with that? Good possibility I could lose my job, then I won't have a license to go find another. Then I get to foreclose on the house because I won't have a job and then I get to move back into my parents basement.

thank you sir, may I have another? *bends over*

Man Nofx you have had the worst luck this year, three instances i the last few months.. Crazy! I think it will all work out in the end. And off the record I drove for 2 years on a suspended license for a similar charge 10 years ago.

  11. Check out my new avatar 'Mo!

    MMMMMMMM....... steamin brains! :P

Let's see one with you sucking on a chicken foot!

Guess it is Bush FTW... :)

    NEVA......

A guy has to draw the line somewhere. I stopped at the chicken feet. Anything that steps in poo (that you eat) all day is not going in my mouth.. I got sick and ended up in the hospital enough times while I was over there with food poisoning..

Now I want to comment on Beijing and Guanzhou.

    1) Beijing Sucks. I hate that place. The taxi's suck and try to 'f you when ever they can. Tienanmen Square, The Forbidden City, and the Wall are cool but that is about it.. They (taxi's will take advantage of you). Outside our 4 star hotel they wanted to charge us 4 times as much for a taxi fare

.. One of the things I could not tolerate while I was over there was the discrimination that took place with me being a "round eye".

    2) Guanzhou sucks as well Dingy. That town stinks and is full of criminals.. Man I wished you would of contacted me before you went over..

  12. i deal with mustangs more than you can imagine, its the clutch sensor, not the actual clutch, look under the dash behind the pedal, there will be a switch that the clutch pedal touches when pushed to the floor, check your connection, if connected fine then replace the switch. not a big deal.

What this guy said, he's right on!
