  1. Maybe "..." should be in the filter list...not the first time I've mentioned this.

i've appended a "no being lame" clause to the rules list out west, which i think goes without saying in mayhem/recrud, and embraces sarcasm, ..., and things that make me go "..." in my head.

if this is an opinion poll, i'd rather give them a quick ride on the size 10 1/2 train than have to explain "..." being filtered. it's a much more lengthy discussion than ma_kick. if this isn't an opinion poll, then i'll give myself a ride on the train.

  2. i don't think it's worth the extra $70, imho.

    1. i'm jaded and tainted on abit boards--had really, really bad experiences.

    2. pc2100 266mhz ddr is about $30 for a 512mb upgrade, giving you 768...more than enough for web surfing/email/aim/hlsw

but, neither offer onboard video. for a web station, i don't need more than what onboard can offer. i'm going to look for something along those lines....once my boss stops hovering over my cube.

  3. (1) would you (the generic you), preaching openness and acceptance, want to tell him he's wrong?  Kind of a Catch-22 in there

i live about 10 minutes from berkeley, the epicenter of liberals....which of course embodies "open mindedness and acceptance." unfortunately, some people (on BOTH the left and the right) are so convinced in their divine superiority they forget the fundamental principle of spreading said qualities. this mildly spins off to a side topic, but people these days seldomly converse for the sake of understanding and comprehension. rather, it's to hear themselves talk.

what if he's not wrong. i don't know if i agree with "telling someone they're wrong" on a subjective issue, which of course faith is, but rather having a dialogue to understand both points. you can't change anyones mind. you can only give them evidence supporting your point/belief/lemonaide stand, but in the end, it's up to them to decide.

    (2) want to go there?  Like I said, I'd be out...whether by leaving because I didn't agree with the ministry or being kicked out, whatever.  If the congregation leaves or gets kicked out to the point where the church can't afford to stay open, well...Told ya so?

no no and no. my faith and religous beliefs are unique interpretation to me and myself. i like being challenged to them, but that seems to happen daily and without provocation. however, on the rare occurences i go to church, i go to a service that challenges me mentally by pulling me, not pushing me.

the whole idea of hierarchy and the figurative soapboxes figureheads of the church stand on was the entire reason for me leaving an assebled congregation years ago. stories like this only reaffirm that decision for me.

  4. so what is the tickrate?  and why can't it be 100?  it appears from what you all are saying that it should be set to 100...

i don't get it either. i just mudged my client side rates (thanks to strange's plagerized) post over here. you may need an abacus to do the math, but shizam, it works. a lot easier than getting a straight tickrate answer from barry @ xgs, or valve, or anyone else for that matter.

also, that video was dope. i'm pretty convinced that kid sat up a few nights thinking "i wonder how it would look to have a bot jump over me, shoot him in the head, and all in slow motion? better yet, lets have a perfect circle rock out in the background." i dunno if the problem is as exaggerated as the video makes it (what were his rates, btw), but worth turning the speakers up for.

  5. The only "push-ups" with which I am familiar are the frozen ones in our freezer that come in orange, lime and rasberry sherbert flavors!  :P  I can do several of those at one sitting .... but not very many in just one minute.....

    Cranky B)

i can do three orange pushups in about 90 seconds.

  6. Hi,

I am a real noob when it comes to file conversions and making custom sprays etc...

I am looking for some simple step by step instructions on how to convert some jpg/bmp pics I have into a spray I can use.  I have tried doing it on my own with no success.  In fact I think I have made things worse.

    Thanks

    Beavis.

i'll make a howto for you when i get home, unless someone beats me to the punch.

    welcome, too!

  7. wow.

how do professors enforce "required materials?" i have classes where students make photocopies of the section we're on....either because a used version is not available, they figured 100pgsx.10/pg is cheaper, etc. etc. even in a class where the professor wrote his own book, some students would either obtain a copy on reserve in the library or copy from students in class. the professor can not require you to have materials, but can base your grade off the completion of assignments.

so why can't you post an ad for your book on the bulletin board? also, your student council should be your better channel, not the president's office.
