It has been a very long time since I've made a post. I've had a lot of really screwed up things happen in my life recently. Honestly, I kinda feel hopeless at my situation but i always keep trying to fight through any problems. At the end of July 2009 my wife left me for an older man. He is around 25 years older than her and I both. I can't really understand the reasons why, because I make more money than he, and he is a raging alcoholic. I've even heard from her family that he beats her. At any rate I am going to lose the house I was buying because she liked paying the bills, stopped paying them and hid it for so long i couldn't ever catch it up. we have a 3 year old daughter together and it scares me that this guy could be touching her because of the age difference of my ex. Whats 20 more years huh?? She isn't even my ex. yet, i filed for divorce in like October and we haven't even been to court. I just feel like my life is in ruins. I have an 89k dollar loan on a house with only 1 year of payments, and its 1 year behind. I don't know what to do... honestly. I'm so confused at life but I just keep walking forward. I just can't help but think that my life is going to be screwed up because I gave my heart, my hopes, and all my dreams to someone... And they just stomped on them.

So how do you get on a leader board, do we have to play against each other?

Hey everyone. Its been a while. I've dropped in a few times on the forums here and there. I've even stopped in on the server to see what was up. I actually was waiting to come back to the community until I got another computer since I just got a job making 17.18 an hour. Well, seeing as how my wife likes to spend money and I like to save it.... I never got around to building a new computer. After arguing with her, and threatening her with uber l33t counter-strike skills(And alot of laughter on her end.) She decided to give me money to buy a new pc. She doesn't get it till the end of this month so you might actually see me around! YAY.

Figured i'd post this because it happened to my buddy fohacidal here. So people know.

I liked the demo...but the aiming is a little too loose for my liking, I'll definitely pick it up eventually but it's not something I'm eager to get (especially with DMC4 this week and Lost Odyssey next week)

Since I've got the 360, I've averaged a game a week. I got it on Christmas and now have 8 games. I got dead rising as well, which isn't a bad game, but isn't a great game ether. I got assassins creed and thats a game thats only good in moderation. I honestly don't care too much about game play, I figure at some point this year I'll probably have every game for my 360. I just need the 62 inch TV. I'd like to slow down on the 360 games and focus on building a new PC, but my wife thinks I need every 360 game for some reason. Personally 2 games every 2 months is just fine. Guitar hero 3, and Naruto Rise of a ninja still keep my interest even though I've beat them.

Turok is pretty cool. I like it a lot better than the Nintendo 64 version. So far its pretty fun. I've had my copy since the first thanks to the "not so smart" people at Wal-Mart released it early. But, got my copy anyway.Now all I needs is my 62 inch HD-TV!!

The tech cut and re-made the coax connections to the splitter, and that seems to have resolved the issue. All this time, and it was a bad connection coming into the apt...

It happens

Help! Ever since I got back to my apartment 2 weeks ago, the internet has been unbearably slow. Pings to websites are literally hit or miss -- about 50% of the time there's a normal ping, but the other 50% is a timeout. Going to websites takes forever (3-5 minutes to load up a site like fastmail.net). Just for kicks I attempted to connect to our COD4 server, but I get an in-game message saying "this server is for low ping players only" or something to that effect. The same thing is happening on two computers.

 

Also, I've monitored the network activity through Windows Vista's utility, and see network activity like clockwork once every 5 seconds or so. It makes the graph look like this:

Here's what I've tried:

1. Restarting the computer

2. Restarting the cable modem

3. Restarting the wireless router

4. Closed all unnecessary processes

5. Connecting the computer directly to the cable modem

6. Waiting a few days to see if the issue would resolve itself

7. Having a Comcast tech come out to visit -- the lines are clean, the cable tv is working, and they can ping comcast's website. Plus no one else in the building has complained. So now they want to charge me because there's "nothing wrong with the internet connection".

 

I'm at a loss for what else to try. Anyone have any other ideas?

So for the past couple months my vid card has been giving me ANNOYING things in games. I dont konw the technical term, but it'll take a texture from a point and stretch it all the way accross the map in ut, so it looks like there's a huge streched wall in front of me. Makes it hard to shoot guys sometimes when I cant see them behind this imaginary wall.

 

Well, i loaded up cod4 a couple days ago, and it's fun. Good frames for the most part too. Anyway, it'll take shadows and stretch them to my crosshair as thick black lines, sometimes only display a huge wall of blue/brown infront of me, but it all depends on where I am pointing my gun. Like, if I move it, they might go away, move back, they're still not there, take a step, they're back.

 

I used to think it was heat, so when it started i cleaned out my card with air, still no go. Last night i monitored temps too and it never broke 70, which is good afaik. Is this my vid card slowly dying on me? It's a 7900gtx not overclocked at all. I already tried 5+different drivers for it, including beta drivers. Game doesnt matter either - does it for all of them - hl2, cod, ut, etc.

The term is artifact I believe.

You know... I've oced alot of my machines... and I can tell you right now you can EXTREMELY OC any PC and run zCPU and get an insane mark. I want to see actual 3dmarks on it. There arn't any probably because when he tries to play video games/benchmarks the system locks up or reboots. Sure, at idle it'll be 4.8ghz stable... but what at 100% cpu usage? The only way that it would even be stable would be to have some insanely expensive cooling device.

Ok..I have a Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI motherboard...I switched the motherboard setting to sli mode, there are no BIOS options pertaining to sli. I installed my second evga 7900 GT KO..exact models and version numbers.

 

The main problem is that when I go into the nVidia Control Panel...the option to enable sli multi gpu is not there. I updated the graphics and chipset drivers....no dice.

 

Anyone had this issue?

Are both video cards showing up in your Device manager? If not what I'd do is make sure you have the install file for the drivers on your desktop. Go into your Device manager and uninstall the graphics card. If it asks you to reboot click no. Then go to add/remove programs and uninstall the drivers and reboot. This actually happened to a friend of mine when he bought another card so he could use sli. This helped him get it running.

Wonder if Microsoft will be pressured by users to make a Windows XP version of DX-10. I doubt they will but, it would be nice if *cough* a third party(legal issues will probably apply) directX 10 driver was released for XP.

Woo. Today is the day I start my 30 year prison sentence. Wish me luck. 8 hours of orientation for 5 days this week. I get my name badge and uniforms today. Then after this week I go for my Officer training which is 4 weeks. BAH thats going to suck because I have to travel to orient ohio (i live in mansfield) and stay there for the whole 4 weeks. That really sucks when you have a 6 month old baby. I hope I didn't scare anyone into thinking I was actually going to be a prisoner. lol. Alright, its time to get ready for w3rk. Cya in 5 weeks.
