    cs_office2008 is still the same layout, different textures. It looks nice, much better than the cs_office. It's set in the big city at night. Also, it has some new camp spots, like in the back trucks and the like.

     

    de_aztec_extended is just that, extended. When I played it seemed to have more balance, T's can more easily rush B, or just pick em off from there, the bridge has multiple path ways. Just overall fun.

     

    I don't know if this is the right place for this thread, and I don't quite think people really want to play maps so similar to stock maps on custom night, but I'd like to see these two in rotation. (FYI: There is a cs_office_lego)

    It'll suck when they start streaming commercials inbetween maps and on television models :(

     

    So... does this just effect VALVe servers or what about privately owned servers? 'cause I do not think they can do that on private servers.

    This tends to create a poverty line between the two teams. 1 team who can afford the minimal basics, and the other who can barely afford anything--seemingly stuck in the pistol round. Now this is fine for whomever wins and is able to afford real weaponry and equipment, the other team however is being raped. This can continue for an entire map with scores like 10-1, 10-2 or it can go a few rounds every which way.

    i'm quite familar with the p180 and i believe you have the best set up now though i'd still leave the hard drives with a fan on them.

     

    btw, your monitor will not affect your fps what-so-ever. any performance increase you saw would be probably a lack of ghosting.

     

    i re-read through your settings at the top of the page. i would turn your aa to 4 and af to 16. max your water as well. none of those settings should affect your fps at all with that card and that resolution.

     

    again, if you're looking for a performance increase then ditch that old p4 and get a new core 2. you'll see fps gains in the area of at least 50%.

    Wow, thats quite a gain.

     

    I may check out compat. with my MoBo and consider it or just wait till I build a new computer. Thx for all the advice. ;p

    snowblind, nothing wrong at all with those numbers. you're cpu limited. those p4s suck the big one.

     

    btw, you didn't average 101 if your result came back as 96. you averaged 96. that's what the test gives. the average.

    I got the 101 from a few numbers I took down off net graph. Though the test is probably more accurate

     

    But I switched heatsinks to the sonic tower, it has a 120 mm fan on it, blowing up and out, and I moved my HDDs down to the bottom part of the case (look up antec p180 and you'll understand) so now I just have a 120 MM fan there intaking air and room temp air enters the case vs air heated by HDDs.

     

    I've seen a considerable temp drop, as I'm typing this (just finished playing GWs a few minutes ago too) it dropped to ~37C, as for gaming it is between ~44-48C So I'm satisfied there.

     

    For the FPS, I switched to my CRT for a bit but I couldn't get used to it, but I noticed a performance increase in overall, didn't reflect in the tests but reflected in gameplay. But we'll see after I play a bit with the LCD again.

    kk, I wasn't sure on the temp thing--it started spiking up to 60C recently. Tomorrow I'm going to switch it out with a sonic tower heatsink I have, and as for the cold air I haven't really away to do that, unless I switch the back fans to intake and the front to exhaust. Not ready to do that though, I'm trying to dust proof my case .

     

    512 on the vid card, LCD Monitor is at 75Hz atm, I'll try my CRT tomorrow.

    HDDs: Maxtor 160 GBs (main) and Western Digi. 240 GBs

    Vid Card: nVidia (MSI) 7900 GTX - running monitor at 1280x1024

    Mem: 2 Gigs Corsair DDR2

    Case: Antec P180

    kk, my idle temperature is ~44C and on CSS Load it is ~55C--Is this to hot? I think it is, I have two 120mm fans exhasting near it--1 above the heatsing and 1 behind it (blowing out the back of the case). And on the front I have two intaking, I'm unsure of the heatsink and video cards heatsing direction.

     

    For my FPS, the video stress test gave me 96 FPS, I was running net_graph and I'd say it averaged 101ish..

    In game, though, I'd estimate ~55-85 It obviously pretty low for my rig, any thoughts?

    Hacker speculation

    Demos are great, but I'd be really cautious to ban someone unless the hacking was painfully obvious. It can actually drive away great competition. I get called a hacker 2-3 times a day on non-GC servers, and I'm not even that good compared to some of the other regs on GC servers! It gets really frustrating when an admin thinks the same thing. Just yesterday I was kicked from the "o clan" server for "obvious botting". It's very hard for someone to admit that there are people out there that are just plain better than they are.[/rant]

     

    So some questions to ask: does the crosshair jump to a player perfectly every time? Does the person only use high-accuracy, high-damage weapons? Does the crosshair suddenly start following a wall, and miraculously fire right as someone turns the corner? Does the player NEVER miss?

     

    Luckily, it's a lot easier to tell when someone is botting in UT - they can shoot through fog with 100% accuracy, hit people with hitscans with 100% accuracy, etc. And most of the time, their footwork sucks. :)

    To your rant: This is the first person I've actually accused(seriously) of hacking that hasn't made it terribly obvious. But I know where you're coming from.

     

    And to your methods of looking for a hacker are kinda flawed--they work, but are flawwed. As I said "a toggle hacker." Hacks can be configured to quite an extent. Auto-aim on fire, auto aim enemy in sight, etc.

     

    But before I further accuse him I will get a demo of him.

    I suspect this player to be a toggle hacker. It's hard to prove, but after specing him some I've noticed discrepancies in his shots. And another accusation is his constant high score, I know the score is possible with out hacks--though you'd have to be a top player to get (AWP whore?). He has scores around 30:10. And I think these two things cuppled together can really prove he is. But since I am not for sure and I don't want to get an innocent person banned, I want to see what others have to argue or support/add, etc. to these accusations.

    I have founded a new organization within Scopeless server, it is known as the Pistol Activist Group.

     

    We advocate the use of only pistols or predominate pistol use. If you want to use your primary more, then take the tag off and when you're ready for your weapon use to be pistols only slap it back on.

    That glitch is a lil' annoying. I literaly just came here to start a thread about it.

     

    Maybe something like a vote kick or voteslay? Or could you set it so that when the time runs out the round actually restarts? I mean like, I like to go in there and play either when the other servers are empty or they are full.

    Gas Stations get around 3cents to the gallon. It's the oil companies; So I'd assume Bushes Oil companies, Venesuala, and the Mid East have something to do with it.

     

    I sure as hell wish I lived closer to school. Although I only live 3 miles, but the bus doesn't come out here.
