  1. Looks good. I'm glad you are satisfied. I read your posts in the benchmark thread and I don't think you have much to worry about as far as your placement on any particular graph.

Couple of things. I would read some threads on overclocking your i7. So far the 920 is giving reliable 1 ghz OCs to a lot of people. I am guessing that a lot of the folks with a similar rig to yours have overclocked that 920 to at least 3.0 ghz. In fact, I think Cujo has his running smooth at 3.8??? IF you do OC that rig, just take it slow.

That will dramatically increase 3Dmark scores.

OH, and your cable management is pretty sweet. It is crucial to airflow, specially in a case like that.

I crack my case once every couple of months and dust it out and change air filters. Also, clean and reapply thermal paste on CPU once every year.

  2. Maximum PC mag reviewed these at a 7 I believe...and said they worked well with a few of the recent games, but there were some effects, etc...that just gave them headaches. Also, Max PC said that as of press time, there were only 2 monitors that were 120 hz and worth the $$.

Meh...call me when version 2 gets here.

  3. Tek hit me up sometime. If your on the GC group in steam friends, you can find my username in there.

I call a "counter-intuitive" on the groups feature in steam. I've tried to "view" everyone in the group (to which I belong, btw) but cannot. Call me noob...or call me underslept and over worked...

Anyway, I shall not give up until I find friends!

  4. Jackie, Mags and I and some other dude. I will give the other guys credit, they stayed the whole time even though we were up like 5k points. Epic midair smoker pulls. A log rolling from a tank hitting it and it rolling over all 4 survivors in one hit. Tons of 20+ damage pounces. Fun stuff.

    Wish more of you played.

Jackie has some sort of demo and he may post it.

Send me friend invite...user name is Tekmet.

I hardly have any GC friends and I would love to play with some experienced versus ppl...I'm not very good at versus yet.

  5. a single 260 would be a bottle neck in that system but it should still be fast enough for just about any game. i assume that monitor runs at 1920x1080 since it's a 22.5" screen based on the model number. too lazy to look it up. anyway, a single 260 should be fine for that res.

to answer your power supply question, no i would not use the 750 when you go sli. for now it's fine. since i've gone crossfire (2x 4870s) i can hear my 1000w psu spin up pretty high. i'd never heard it before. i would at minimum go to an 850w. if you plan on doing any overclocking then i wouldn't get one less than 1000w.

What he said...mostly. I don't think his 22.5" LCD is 19 x 12...Even if it is, the 260 core 216 (which can be had for $160-180 if you look hard enough) should run just about anything at playable rates with almost all the eye candy turned on. I'm running an MSI 260 core 216 at 19 x 12 and it does just about everything really well (except for Crysis of course).

Still, for the prices, I would prolly do what preacher suggested and spend approx $250 on the ATI 4890 instead of an SLI setup unless you are going to up the rez with a different monitor. That 4890 benches out to be a really sweet card, esp. with the AA and AF turned up at higher rez.

Corsair makes outstanding single rail PSUs now. I also think that 850 is a good bet for the money.

*aside...Cujo, what's up with that enermax?

  6. how much for the camera and oboe?

The oboe is kinda a jest, but I think it's worth about $4800 last time I had it appraised.

Camera?...hmmm No clue, you wanna pm me an offer and I'll do some research on the intertubes...

  7. Games:

    *Return to Castle Wolfenstein

    *Far Cry

*Call of Duty (Includes United Offensive)

    *Quake 4

    *Kotor 2

    *F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate

    Other Stuffs (computer related):

*ATI 9800 pro (128 MB AGP)

    *ATI rage (32 MB AGP)

    *Original Nostromo

*Case Front control panel and remote for Creative Audigy 2 (ZS and Platinum...actually, I think it even works with the X-FI) white

    *HP Deskjet 5550c

*Olympus 740 3.2mp digital camera (10x optical zoom!)

More Other Stuffs: (not computer related)

*Peavey Mark VIII Bass Amp. Pristine condition. Has multiple outputs, EQ, pedal, etc...Black and bold and beautiful. I think it is 350 W continuous with 600 W peak.

*Trace Elliot 4 x 10 Bass Cabinet with attenuated horn. This is the green monster of bass gear...best sound ever. Pristine condition. 300 W continuous, 800 W peak.

*(* edit)F. Loree Oboe pre-WWII...hasn't been played in a while, but in good shape.

    That's all for now.

  8. Wow, nice job Tek!

You just got $92 a piece for those single-slotters USED, I paid $100 bucks for my dual-slot NEW.

Sold both to same guy...checked his other sales and it looks like he builds high-performance Macs....so meh...

  9. Can some1 post a link to the ONS 2.0 mod?

Hit me up if you wanna game tonight...I am scott free of responsibilities.

I just reinstalled this and am playing the DX10 version on Win 7. Still a great looking game. I really think that Patch 4 helped to fix a lof of my issues with this. I have everything cranked at 1920 x 1200 and for some reason my FPS is locked at 62 (v-sync is off in control panel, btw)...not that it matters, because even my last cards in sli could run this full tilt.

pwned some guys earlier today on torlan. good times.

  10. I've restarted playing Oblivion again and noticed sites like tesnexus has as much traffic lately as it did 3 years ago. Blame it on Fallout.

Anywho here's a few grafix mods I'm running to bring the bling up to date while not changing gameplay.

First get the Unofficial Oblivion Patch. Fixes a couple thousand bugs.

Qarl's Texture Pack 3 1.68gb of high res textures

CaptNKILLs NonTiling Texture Mod Fixes the original crappy terrain texture tiling.

Koldorns LOD Noise Replacer You may want to try medium.

Gonna need Oblivion Mod Manager for these. OMM makes installing mods easier and also lets you deactivate them at will, so if you can find the other mods I listed above in OMOD file, then by all means grab that instead.

4096X4096 Normal Map-2048X2048 Border Regions-LOD_OMOD High res terrain LOD compilation

Natural Faces Makes the faces of NPCs not so damn ugly.

There's a crazy amount of high quality mods out there, check out the top 100 on Nexux.

Sooooo...all of this and the game ceases to become level grinding and walking for hours killing stray dogs?

    Ohhhh!

    Snap!

    Love you man!
