Not sure why you need two 5770's, but... um... not sure why I do lots of the things I do either. Maybe price out something like what Unclean suggested and compare prices.

You can cut that price down if you want - get a less expensive case (Antec 300 or something), just one of those 5770s, a 500GB drive, and possibly keep the rest. Just as a starting point for comparing prices.

You could also see the difference between an intel Q8400 and AMDs match for it. Though, if you're saving monies on the things mentioned above, you could possibly look at getting an i5...

I saw it in 3D as well. I liked it, but like everyone else is saying, not because the storyline was amazing.

yea I know, but the guys I work with and some freinds have the 360, plus I found it refurbed for $130, so I picked it up.

 

So I got it to work last night, I played for about an hour after I was able to install to the HD and all of a sudden it froze. Now I get three red rings when it starts up. What a crappy console, I'm glad I didn't pay more for it. At least they said they will fix it for free and pay for shipping.

I was going to say, "It hasn't happened to me." But then I remember that time I dropped it in my car, and it gave me the 3 red rings, but then after a power cycle it worked again fine.

Cujo -- 5C? Man it's warm there! It's been -27C here the last week or so.

 

Another annoying this is that since my motherboard thinks my CPU is at >90c, the fan runs wide open now. Having to use SpeedFan to slow it down to 55%, but the program always defaults back to 100% when I reboot. Any ideas, or maybe another program. I plan on getting a quiet hs/fan but I can't right now.

 

idk about your cpu fan, but I use rivatuner for my gpu because it sets it way too low for the temps. It also starts whenever I start windows.

You can't set speedfan and have it stay even through reboots? Or are you using cold storage or something like that? (Best anit-virus software EVER)

I played some TAM last night. Wow I'm rusty! I also played some Ons with Danimal and Phx Ice. There was one other guy in there who was pretty good. Didn't take too long to get combos down again though. I hadn't touched the game since... April?

If you could find the socket LGA775 motherboard for under $100 (which I'm sure you can - try gigabyte or asus) then you can get an E5200 and overclock it quite nicely (plus $15-25 for a better heatsink). Save some monies there too if need be.

Do you ever overclock? What kinds of games do you play? What are you going to be using the pc for?

And it did work on Firefox. At least for me. But it was somewhat meh. Just a bunch of purple lens flares. Like J.J. Abrahms threw up on my screen.

Anonymo, I only use firefox, so ... um, yeah. No point there actually.

Nothing to write home about (the lens flares) but something to show your buddies and they'll think you're some sort of technological genius somehow. At least the ones who dont know anything about computers think that. :/

Lastly, a part of me thinks Steve finds Dave attractive and is having a hard time dealing with those feelings.

I have a 40" screen, but it's a TV. It actually looks really good, and I can dual-monitor then too for making my lessons faster.

I like my mac and it's old (G4). You'll love yours too.

so michelle and/or steve don't trust janet. it doesn't sound like the issue is with dave, but whether or not janet should even be there.

I wont have time to look back here, but I'll just say a couple of things:

It sounds like steve/michelle DID trust Janet, even if they no longer do. They HAVE been supportive -- they let her move in and she only pays for food and cleans up after her dog. Seems like they've shown a lot of support and mercy given the situation.

the problem has come up and gone on for a while now. They've been supporting her and are still doing so.

i'm playing an extreme devil's advocate, but play out the scenario of confronting janet about dave not being welcome (even if it's not welcome 2-3-4 days). how do you think that will impact the relationship and home environment between michelle, steve and janet, and what kind of strain could that put on michelle and steve?

I really like these questions actually, because people/relationships are extremely important, and this is the heart of the issue. M/S don't want to upset Janet -- I think they DO want to support her. I'm making the assumption that their rules for her are to help the relationship between M and S, and between M/S and Janet. What's happening is the opposite of all of that, because Janet, however much she is hurting, is looking for happiness in the wrong place or at least the wrong way: at the expense (relationship wise) of those who are helping her.

What can be done? I find it easy to let things go, but harder to confront out of love. I think that needs to happen, but in the right way... very very carefully! Janet may hate them for it, but if they had any relationship to begin with, she'll eventually see that M/S wanted what's best for her and them. And even if she doesn't ever come around, M/S can sleep at night knowing they did everything they could to help her with sincerity.

Here's a trick if you have fbook.

Press up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, enter, then right-click. Magic circles will now appear when you scroll up/down, etc. Press F5 to make them stop.
