  1. I don't know alot about building computers, but I gave it a try about 5 months ago, and I couldn't have made a better choice.

I was able to create a system that normaly would have cost around 2400 to buy, for only 1580. I searched the web and found sales, used instant rebates and bought components from Mwave, Newegg, PCclub (ick, but had the best price on a sale), Best Buy (same reason as PCclub), anywhere that I could reasonably trust that had the best price. I also tried to buy most items from somewhere I could go pick it up. Shipping is a hidden cost that can build up to a substantial amount. Took me about 3 weeks to get all the buying done. Saved around 900 over buying it pre-packaged. Time well spent.

I was really worried when it came down to building the system. One thing that I messed up on was posting the motherboard. Didn't know I need to do that. Luckaly I followed the directions and didn't over tighten the screws, so no damage was done (Thank Goodness). The directions are soo easy I was done in about 40 minutes. Up and running without a hitch.

I would suggest trying to build it yourself. You will save lots of money, you will know your machine inside and out, and have the pride of a job well done.

not true...you left out some vowels and some punctuation. Also you didn't really speak English.

    Now thats funny.

Rachel Ray's $40 a day show is really great if your single and have no friends. However, since I have a family of five, not that useful to me. Now her meals in 30 minutes show is actually full of stuff I (read my wife) can really use.

  3. My video card (Nvidia 7950) came with the same thing.... never really bothered to ask about it, just stuck it in the drawer with all the other hundreds of cables and adapters I've collected over the years heh. It would be nice to know the answer though.... of course I probably wouldn't be able to find the cable now :).

As an aside, i will be upgrading to an 8800 in the next few months, anyone interested in my 7950 1gig?

  4. I don't think these lessons are of any real value... but I have to give this guy some kudos. He has a skill (debatable, but we will assume for the sake of argument), and is trying to make some money off it. The American way. I wish him luck, but thats all I'll be giving him heh :).

  5. Hung and decapitated? Alittle over kill don'tcha think? Seems they should be happy with killing him once. Killing him twice is just silly.

  6. I cut a 3" hole into my knee right on the cap down to the bone with a machete...

Yeah, it can get dangerous out there in the jungles of Borneo. Which is where I would assume you received this wound. Otherwise you would have been playing with knives, and as we have all heard, thats bad. Thanks mom!

  7. I just stepped on a 4 inch nail... I bleed all over the kitchen, living room, and in my shoe.

Calling the hospital now to see if my tetanus shots are in order. I think I got really close to impaling my foot.

    Hold me

Painful stuff. And no, I will not hold you... big baby

Finance Coordinator for DoreUSA. We work with kids and Adults with learning dificulties stemming from ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia and so on. Hard to make a case for Cedar Point. We do have a center near Chicago... but I'd need to at least visit the center once so as not to actually lie about going there heh :). I'll figure something out... but shes a smart cookie, probably see right through me :halo:

  9. hmm.. sounds like alot of fun. However, I'm not sure I can convince the wife that she needs to have the 3 kids for a day longer just so that I can have alot of fun. Might not go over well. But I'll try. Put me down as a maybe, and I'll start working on a strategy for explaining why its important for me to go.
