  1. I have always been amazed by how people can create a problem where there is none. Embrionic Stem Cells can be harvested from the thousands of frozen furtilized eggs that would otherwise be thrown out in the trash. There is no need or plan to harvest babys and ingage in the wholesale slaughter of children that some radical groups would have us believe. The argument that Stem Cell Research is somehow morally wrong is the same knee jerk reaction that has happened through out history when a new scientific advancement occures.

Given free reign science can, and has, created monsters. However, the even from these monstrouse creations wonderful things have evolved. It seems that a rather large group of normally well meaning and gentle poeple, can become completly illogical and rabid animals when concidering this subject. People get so wrapped up in 'what ifs' and 'could bes' that are so far out of the realm of possibility, that they loose their objectivity. Regardles of whether you are a Democrat, Republican; A Muslim or Christian; Rich or Poor, we are still all human. Through out the history of man, despite the harsh realities of nature, we as a species have continued to strive to do right. We are a social group, as early as ten - twelve thousand years ago we were coming to gether in large groups and forming villages, towns, cities. From thoses early times we have established basic rules of conduct that have survived up to now. Every major religion can be boiled down to two words, "Be Nice".

So relax. This science of Stem Cells will continue to be explored. Every industrialized country in the world is experimenting with these cells. Regardless of whether you feel it will inevitably spiral into human cloning or the selling of body parts, the research will continue. Great and wonderful things will come of this research, might be in ways we do not expect, the Stem Cell could be a dead end. But through this research other fields and ideas will come about. And so we as a species can only profit from this exploration of our world and body.

P.S. I'm afraid I have rambled quite abit. Had alot to say and little time to do so. Please forgive the grammer and structure flaws.

  2. Well, I have never been interested in a console game enough to decide to throw $300+ at a system, just for the opportunity to spend another $60 on a game. Then, after i get bored with the game, to have that $300+ games console just sit there until I find another game I'm interesed enough in to throw another $60 at. I know that PC's are usually more expensive, but they are also much more useful and flexible.

A PC is expensive sure. The games available usually cost as much as console games. But after you have grown tired of the games you have, you can still use your PC. It just won't sit there like a very expensive paper weight. Yeah, the new consoles can play DVD's, but nearly all the newer PC's can as well.

I just don't see what the big deal is regarding these consoles. Shrug.

  3. If they are going to allow for a capitalist pricing scheme, perhaps they should lift the 16,000 limit on our buying power. That would provide a much more realistic commercial environment.

  4. Hmm.. I'm a littled peeved all the weapons I like are appearantly made of solid platinum... but I think the idea is interesting, and has merit. I am willing to try it out. Should be interesting running around on the first round with a mac 10 and night vision. Sounds like a party to me!

  5. What would be a good choice for a CPU and power supply? If my system freezes could that be on account of the power supply? If I go to a dual core cpu I would need to upgrade the mobo.

  7. Remember Robotech? I liked it much more than G.I. Joe at the time because in Robotech you could hear people dying and screaming in pain as they were shot down. Come to thing of it.. that might have been why my mother was none to impressed with it heh:).

Megatron was a favorite as well. Ah yes.. the glory days of the early 80's....

  8. I'd like to try it out. I'm not the most consistant player, but It would be fun to try playing on a more cohesive team model than we usually find on our servers. I do have a mic... just never have much to say heh:)

  9. ER.. I became a member of GC because I so enjoyed playing agianst and with all of you that I was forever frustrated when I was getting redirected because the server was full, except for the reserved GC slots. So I became a GC member with the idea that I would no longer be redirected when there are open slots on the server. However, I am still getting redirected when the server reached 18-19 players on it. Was I mistaken? Please clarify this isure for me, and hopefully, let me play! heh :)
