I tend to die doing that Primus. Like Bushwacks point of driving tank into rain of enemy fire. Provided enemy is close enough. I do think cannonfodder idea is better fall back. Time to heal tank takes you that long out of game. Destroy it by firing into wall etc and have if and you respawn. Kills your stats but makes you more available to fight without wasting time fixing tank.

Thanks for the praise Tek. Some nights your hand eye coordination is working others it is not. I definitely had it working and it helps when others are distracting you. Whenever I am lucky or skilled enough to kill one of you guys, you hunt me down and kill me very methodically. Dark-I have button to change position of view "in vehicle" or "outside vehicle". I also have button to change fov from 97 to 90. I am a sniper at heart. FOV 90 I use when I am in a sniper dual with others. Gives me a slightly larger target to hit. I very rarely use it due to being a fairly decent sniper. I do like the simulated FOV change switching views in vehicles. In tank you may be lower to ground but targets size much larger. PS. What are your settings for overclocking, and did you increase your fan speed to compensate for heat with cpu cooler provided with cpu. I think my sound problems where due to Microsoft pre-update running in background. No sound very aggravating. I tried plugging mic in motherboard mic jack in front of case and did not work. Think soundcard overriding that port need to use "mic in" found on sound card port.

I like my mx518. Eight buttons is great. I have center button config between shocker and flak cannon using my ini file. Some problems when I have grenade launcher as mentioned in post above. If you ever see me using grenade launcher against a person, it is because I have called up flak and don't have one. These are my two favorites for short and long range needs. I have all main weapons available on mouse using Logitech mouse setpoint software. LG and spider on nostromo. I have two sensitivities on mouse when using weapons. I have 600 dpi for normal game and 450 for sniping. I did tend to fall off mousepad until I got a 12x18" mouspad. I got the nostromo because I could not call up weapons fast enough. Searching with mouse wheel took forever and I tended to die. Taking fingers off movement keys to use number for weapon selection resulted in headshots to me. I even have nostromo button to change view in vehicles from inside to outside. I like to fly raptor to see orientation from above of my angle of motion and attack. When attacking ground targets like Bushwack, he always runs under my raptor making me loose visual. You could scroll to be inside Raptor but too long. It is too long since Bushwack will be shocking the hell out of you while moving under your raptor. Button puts me in fast with larger view of target with no visual blocks. Also works with tanks when you want to snipe and get that extra close view. This changing position also simulates a change field of view in vehicles. Reminds me of going from 97 degrees to 85 degrees. Get larger target to shoot at but loose peripheral view. You can modify your ini file to do this to a more accesible button but you will have to ask Dark.

Thanks, but I already locked utcomp menu onto a key in my nostromo about two matches ago. I recorded a very long macro with nostromo recorder. Just types ` key and started keystrokes to call up utcomp then exit. Timed it to .01 seconds between keys. Your method cleaner and useful for non nostromo users for fast access to utcomp with F5 key.

I might regret this..... I have pipedswitched center mouse button between flak cannon and shocker with my MX518 mouse and mouse setpoint the rest of the mouse buttons (8 total) to keyboard keys. Pipedswitched weapons can be finicky. There is a priority as Dark mentioned. If I have grenade launcher, flak, and shocker, I need to scroll to move my grenade to flak. If is switch weapon from grenade to different keyed weapon (not center mouse button) when I go back I have grenade again next click brings up shocker. These are only two available with out the use of scroll to flak. If I leave on flack to different keyed weapon (not center mouse button) when I go back I have flak and shocker available and will need to scroll from flak to grenade to then use with center mouse button. I tried using pipedswitch with rockets/avril and link had problems. Fine if only two weapons rockets-link or avril-link, but once you get rockets-avril - link you can't use the key to switch to link. I keybind rockets and avril to one key with no extra weapons for that key. There is a website Madhookup that goes over pipeswitching and nostromo. Some of it orks and some does not.

Thanks for input. Macroed into my nostromo f1 key. Don't have keyboard out when playing. Inside keyboard draw so closer to monitor. Strafe while moving hmmmm........ Similar to dodging left while moving forward. More detail appreciated. I mentioned a speadsheet with fact on game settings. I was unclear. I did it for everyone posted side by side. If want I could email it to you. Your keyed weapons to letter keys. Was that done through ini file? I do not need it with nostromo but would help people with short fingers or carpal tunnel like me.

Thanks for the ego boost Tek. I know I am rather weaker than most of you but hey I just learned that you can move forward and dodge to left or right for improved distance. Found that out two weeks ago. YOU WILL PERSONALLY NOTICE AN IMPROVEMENT IN MY PLAYING As for settings, I do not know what half of what was mentioned does. Mouse smoothing. Give your mouse that silky smooth touch as you hold it? lol How do you find ping? How to during game to call up multi player server without leaving game? I do notice some major diffs in in-game mouse sensitivity, mouse smoothing, and double jump timings. All but I had higher texture settings with all on/off set to off. I originally had a Geoforce 6200 so should change these settings with my new system. Mouse resolution ranged from 800-2000 dpi. I use 600 dpi for game and 450 for far ranged sniper action. No one mentioned overclocking but know Dark does overclock. No mention of screen size unless you infer from screen resolution or screen refresh in nanoseconds. Hi Unclean From the response and games listed that you play, you must be as lethal as Dark (whatever he is calling himself now), bush, wentz, flitter, and the other extreme players on GC. I am a rather small GC fish so I will probably have to be even sneakier. Hope to see you but not have you see me (until too late hope)

You should never talk about Dark Archon during a game. Mention a DA character trait during game like "he is evil" will result in egoboost as seen above

NVidea was of no help. All they want to do in install driver which does nothing. Think it is a UT2004 problem and need a patch of some kind. I think it is UT problem or graphics card defect. Graphics card is fine during online matches and shakes only in single. While shaking the graphics are a whole lot more detailed than online. Fire the tank round and see a concussion explosion and phosphorus fall around hit area. On the plus side, it seems going from 38 ms to 2 ms a definite improvement. Never got so many hits with hellbender dual cannon ever. Also so seemed to be hitting manta with shocker more straight on. Before, hits to mantas were always glancing blows. Not centered enough to push manta back like Dark, Bush, and other GC fanatics do to me when I in manta. Screen is very nice. Need to see if it has a tilt feature to adjust viewing angle and further review of features.

Seems like my reason for name change from UT2007 to ut3 is coming true. They may not have it out until after New Years Eve. Oh Hell.

I have heard of ground shake but that applies to jumping off vehicle and getting hit with weapons that would simulate earthquake action to character. This involves firing weapons only. It is not shake from weapon fire but rather entire screen flicker left and right while firing. I am uninstalling ut204 and reinstall to see if this helps Thanks for input MaDPaT

I got a samsung synchmaster 226 bw 22". Downloaded drives and full install and same problem. Screen shakes while firing hand weapons. No notice shake while driving or using vehicle weapons. I loaded drivers and cant figure out the problem.

Had to return it. Shake was getting worse and usb not working. Tech guy at BestBuy thought is was problem with card in monitor. Looking into other monitors. Samsung has a 19 in lcd with a 3000;1 contrast and a response time of 2 ms. Hmmmmm.

I did the usb connector to monitor. Does have a square end. Tried mulitple usb connectors on my computer to monitor. Even tried new cable connector form my scanner and still did not work. Think I have to return it to be safe. Do not really care but will eat at me over time. Pain to box it again. I am still looking into resolution options. Says there is a gaming mode for monitor. I finally broke down and bought a new monitor. It is a widescreen Gateway FOD2485W. Picture is much better than my old 19 in 4:3 and gives me more room. Also much faster 38 ms to 6 ms. USB hub does not seem to work. Do not care. I notice a few problems when gaming. When I power nodes the whole landscape vibrates or shakes. It is not major but distracting. I wonder if this is due to stretching to fit widescreen? I would continue to play is 4:3 mode on widescreen if I knew setting in UT2004 to allow this. Still playing with settings. THIS THING IS HUGE

Well I partially lost my pc making virginity today. Real nerve wracking. Place cpu without moving it around. Locking in cpu required alot of effort. Place cpu cooler but do not crack motherboard. Place in ram. Place in 8800gts card and sound card. Place optical drive in and cage both hard drives...... Now I have to install all the comm and power cables. I had to stop after 5 hours. Very nerve wracking for a beginner. To any knowledgeable pc builder out there: I have a question regarding power supply cables. Some cables have more than one connector on them. Does that mean I can connect more than one component to one cable or do I use only one connector with each cable? Also, I had to take the cpu cooler off because I had it oriented such a way cpu fan power would not reach receptacle. I disconnected it and reconnected it so cpu cooler fan power receptacle would be reached. The thermal goop was squashed pretty good and spread out the first time. Will there be any problem with thermal goop since I moved cpu cooler it was attached to a bit? When I run the cmos setup. Should I just keep 'standard setting" and what kind of raid should a prefer for my hard drives? All help will be appreciated. MaDPaT

I have almost no added visuals with my ut2004. No shadows, no fine details, etc. If I go 2 steps lower everything will be composed of boxes. That is why I have the 60 fps. Contacted egghead and hope order has been cleared up. On vacation now and best time to put it together. Don't know what AA and AF but assume graphics intensive for more realistic gaming. I am getting this system to play ut3 and handle my computer needs for next 5 years. Big benefit is that as I grow this system will be able to develop with me in regards to better cpu (when price decreases), more video (second graphics card), and alot of harddrive space. Best thing is that the case fits alcove in my desk and has a ton of ventilation fans (antec 900). Was looking at dell 24 inch widescreen but no funds available. Would be nice to see Bushwack a little larger to target. A couple of days ago, only me and bushwack on nepenthe and my ego as a player was annihilated. This will most likely be a future purchase but time will tell. New system has to work first.

Just sent order to new egg and charge card declined it. OH hell. Seems I do not use my charge card that much so when I put it through Chase Mastercard did not bother to contact me. They thought someone was using my card but not contact me. Got to get in touch with newegg tomorrow during phone hours. Order took 15 minutes to do and verify. Nervous enough as is. I macroes my fps stats I inputted to Nostromo so I could see what I was getting whenever I wanted. Pain it overlays map. It is around 60 fps. How is that? That is with a 6200 oc Nvidea card at 600x800 res with no extras in graphics setup. What do you get?

Thanks for the stat fps in control pannel. You mentioned earlier that crucial ram that I was purchasing may not be overclockable. You were right. The standard Crucial ram in not for overclocking. The ballistic version which I am planning is. Thanks for the heads up. I like to double check everything. Even though Newegg kind of endorsed it and you did not, I decided to check deeper into ram capabilities. Can't be too sure. I am ordering my 2100 dollars of stuff today. Oh hell am I nervous.

how do you determine the fps?

I just found out my monitor is listed at 35 ms response time. Could this be the cause of my "slow motion" I sometime experience?

I am keeping my original planned ram. Good reviews from newegg. The hd gets good review but I will get two smaller drives. Reviews not as good as 500 gb model but 2 160 gb models more to what I need. Needed you last night. Bushwack and I only ones on nepenthe. Got killed over and over. Got to learn to dodge. or find help barrel over and over.
