  1. ZD -- why do you always have this know-it-all attitude while everybody that disagrees with you is a total ignorant dum-dum? you may not be able to see it yourself but others do. you insult others and then play the victim. you claim to not be supporting a particular political party and how you are always neutral, but you are the one who is always throwing around "left-wing" this and "left-wing" that without anything to back it up. somebody makes a point or crushes you in debate? oh that is just left-wing smooth talking blah blah blah; also, anybody debating with you (and usually winning), you just accuse them of personal insults, not debating the issue, so on and so forth. this thread is not the first time this has happened;

that is my opinion, and i am going to guess is the opinion of others; i am sure you will be eager to lay out your opinion of me on the politics forum and by all means go ahead; however, i seriously believe the way you post will have to change or else this will just become a shouting match

  2. can we up to this 6 per team? currently, retro is consistently empty and I tried logging in the other day to get it started but playing with only 2 players on each team (me + bot vs 2 bots) is not as fun as it would have been play 6v6 or 8v8

    thanks

  3. Heh, sorry about that. I went to a fencing tournament and it ran longer than I thought it would due to my winning it and all. This Sat I will be there with bells on, and with a huge number of customs to hate! YES!

This is pretty much what I hear when libs try to defend the BS that is being passed as "legislation" these past four months.

I am not defending any policy or any piece of legislation. I am merely raising the point that the claim against the Democrats is baseless, within the context of recent political history. Was my statement not correct?

  5. Liberals do tend to be the "You are with us or completely wrong and ignorant" types.

You haven't been following the bush administration over the last 8 years, have you? anybody who disagrees with his anti-terror policies are worst than "wrong and ignorant" but they are "aiding and abetting the enemy" aka calling those citizens traitors to this country and guilty of treason

  6. sure hope nothing bad happens to me or my family because youre likely to lay there and die because the ER is full of mexican kids with the sniffles....

that's a distortion. as far as I know (and I can be corrected by somebody more knowledgeable), ER gives priority to the severance of cases. People with "the sniffles" are going to be the last in line. People will more severe cases (car accidents, burn victims, etc.) will be able to cut in line in terms of priority.

  7. And as to whether they are angry for being captured while fighting our soldiers and being kept prisoners, getting fat from the good food they get; I do not give a Frak! They were caught FIGHTING US! It's not like they were rounded up in Australia while surfing some killer waves. Give me a frakin break!

    Lies and more lies.

Please stop spreading them and hoping nobody will verify your claims.

He was not surfing some killer waves, just on a business trip. All charges against him are alleged. He is now a free man in the UK (who has accepted him). Now he is filing suit against the US.

Calling me a liar? Is that your evidence that I am a liar?? You found one supposedly innocent man and your only source is Wikipedia? Is this supposed to prove something?

Interesting quote from your Wikipedia article: "he was arrested by the Gambian National Intelligence Agency" He was turned over to the Americans. There is evidence that he has supported Al Qaeda members. He admits to helping Abu Qatada, a well known terrorist. Sorry, but this man is as innocent as my crap smells good.

    http://projects.nytimes.com/guantanamo/det...-khalil-al-rawi

Well, you yourself just proved that you are a liar. Let me point it out: You said that people at gitmo right now were enemy combatants caught on the battlefield fighting US troops. After I brought this guy up, you posted links that detail that he was detained on a trip to Gambia. Unless he has super mutant powers and can clone himself, I fail to see how he can be detained both while in combat against the US and on a trip to Gambia.

There is evidence that he has supported Al Qaeda members. He admits to helping Abu Qatada, a well known terrorist. Sorry, but this man is as innocent as my crap smells good.

Your comment is deceptive and misleading. Yes, he admits to helping Abu Qatada. Since I don't know if other people actually read the link, let me lay it out in entirety for you (telling both sides of the story, unlike you).

He admits in helping Abu Qatada in locating an apartment in UK. US claims that he was helping Abu Qatada hide.

He admits in helping Abu Qatada in making repairs to his home. I did not find anything about the US' stance on this.

He admits in helping Abu Qatada send money to his father. US claims that he was helping funnel money out to Al-Qaeda for nefarious purposes.

Now, let's go over his "association" with Abu Qatada. He admits to being friends with him. The reason they became friends is because Bisher knows English, and Abu, like many others, would seek his help in translating stuff into English. Abu would also request Bisher help with some home repairs, to which Bisher would comply. Bisher listens to Abu preach.

So let's see: that looks like a classic case of guilt by association. The dude is just friends with a terrorist. I mean, if I accidently became friends with a terrorist, without me knowing, and I help him out with several issues that friends would help each other, am I suddenly a terrorist? Should I become a target of interest? Naturally. Should I be investigated? Sure, go ahead. Should I be kidnapped? No.

In the end, the US is unable to provide any evidence to convict him and he is let free. Now he is suing the US.

  9. I'm pretty sure the time frame discussed for stock sales was "not until after the banks have repaid the government loans", although the salary caps can't be applied retroactively to anyone who has already received a bailout of some sort which seems odd and a bit of a cop out if the intention is truly to ensure the bailout monies are used in the right way and not set a precedent for other areas of the economy.

i am quite certain that they cannot sell their stock until the entire loan has been repaid back to the government

Nope. Stocks can be sold/purchased at any time during trading hours. Stocks have nothing to do with loans.

    http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...oryId=100272809

Anything above that would have to be paid in stock that won't vest until the firm has paid back its government loans.

Firms that wish to pay their executives above the $500,000 threshold would be allowed to compensate them with stock that could not be sold until the rescue funds from the government are paid back, the White House official said.

  11. 1. You said the US is doing everything they can. I said we can do more. Has every city banned plastic bags to be used in grocery stores? No. That is just one thing. Please, understand your own statement and mine before making a comment.

    2. That shows World's top 10 most polluted places, not countries. If (theoretically) China has the top 10 places but US has the 11-20, that list will still not show anything. US is a major polluter and is a major problem. For you to say that the US is the "cleanest and least polluting industrialized nation in the world" is preposterous. As of 2005, the US accounts for 24.4% of all CO2 emissions and ranked 7th worldwide on CO2 pollutions per capita. And amongst the 4 major environmental treaties they listed, US has signed and ratified just one.

    3. I am not sure what you mean by the other thread. I am assuming this is the thread you are talking about since you posted all your global warming data here. But in this thread, looking at it, it looks like you were...debunked and accepted defeat.

    1. No Plastic bags? Should we kill more trees which turn CO2 into Oxygen to make more paper bags instead? Oh wait....

    2. Like I already said, we are the most prosperous nation in the world. Of course we are going to emit a lot of CO2. But to say that we are the dirtiest and most polluting country in the world is absolutely false. Take a drive through Maine some day. DO the same thing in Virginia or any other part of the U.S. and tell me is polluted and nasty. Then go visit Italy or some other European country and notice the endless trash littered on the sides of the roads. Yeah, there are pollutions issues here in the US whether it be something that ends up in a river but it gets CLEANED UP. Remember the oil spill outside of Alaska? It got cleaned up pretty damn quick. The only thing more we can do to be cleaner is to shut down all the factories and stop being a productive country and stop breathing if the so-called co2 thing is to be believed as a problem.

You are confusing CO2 emissions with pollution. I think the co2 emissions being considered pollution ridiculous but sure, whatever makes the America haters happy. (Since we are the big problem with the millions spent each year in research and clean-up projects here and worldwide)

    3. rofl. Are you sure you are not reading from bottom to the top? I showed time and again that the earth is cooling and I proved that. There isn't anything that I said that got debunked.

p.s. yeah, I confused this thread with another. We did go off topic after all.

    1. Ever heard of http://www.insideretailing.com.au/Portals/...e-foods-bag.jpg ? I have several in my car right now.

    2. "But to say that we are the dirtiest and most polluting country in the world is absolutely false." -- That's correct. The problem is, I never said this. Stop putting words into my mouth please. For you to even insinuate that US is not a problem pollutant wise is just ridiculous. For you to say that we are the "cleanest and least polluting industrialized nation in the world" is simply out of this world.

    3. I am reading from beginning to end. It clearly shows that your argument is getting hosed. You ignore valid posts and keep on repeating your flawed argument.

You are wrong. You bluffed, I called it. You keep making out-of-the-world statements that is nowhere NEAR true. Admit it and move on.

  12. 1. we already do. They are called HOV lanes.

    2. Know of a country with the laws that we have that regulate air pollution and the like? Up to 30% of the pollution here is from other countries: http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2005-0...ollution-_x.htm

Worlds top 10 most polluted places. I do not see the USA on there: http://www.livescience.com/environment/061...ted_places.html

Finding a story that says we are the cleanest doesn't seem to be easy. What I can tell you is that in my travels throughout my life from Europe, Canada, China and other industrialized countries, we are one of the cleanest if not the cleanest. You do not have to take my word for it though.

    3. That assuming that CO2 emissions are the problem that we are being told are the problem. As I showed in the other thread, we have been in a cooling trend for around 10 years. If the CO2 emissions are increasing and causing global warming, then the last 10 years debunk that. So in short, I do not believe it and do not see any proof that 100% says that Co2 emissions are the problem (versus the sun which seems to get ignored).

    1. You said the US is doing everything they can. I said we can do more. Has every city banned plastic bags to be used in grocery stores? No. That is just one thing. Please, understand your own statement and mine before making a comment.

  13. My point is that we do everything we can already. We are seriously the cleanest and least polluting industrialized nation in the world. We are not the problem right now. China is the problem.

I call BS on the first sentence, the second sentence, and the third sentence.

Sentence One: No we are not. We can always do more, such as offering incentives for carpooling or banning the use of plastic bags in grocery markets. That is just two examples amongst countless ones.

Sentence Two: Got proof of this?

Sentence Three: The US may not be the biggest problem, but it is still a major problem. The US is one of the leading causes of air pollution. As of 2004, the US is the leader in CO2 emissions, accounting for 22.2% of all CO2 emissions. Even though that data is five years old, I doubt the US has dropped in the charts to the point where it is not a problem.
