  1. I would suggest picking a date between those who are posting and make it concrete and then start finding people. Hard to find people when they don't know when it is. I believe Fatty was running into this problem when we first started talking about the first night. He finally came up with a date and told people and it happened. I would suggest pick a day about a month out from now to give people a chance to find out about it and make plans or arraing work or such. Let us know the date before you annoucne it so we can make sure the store is available. If you can't come up with the minimum of 10 people the day or two before hand just let us know and cancel it. We still keep the store open the day of and the day after, just close a couple hours early for your event, so we will not penalize you for cancelling 2 days before. Just keep us informed and we will work with your organization.
  2. Right now we just finished the counter strike 1.6 tournament last night which went better then expected. 7 five man teams showed up. The next event we have is a Smash Bros. Melee tournament on Jan 27, so that weekend is out for you guys. we have no other events scheduled for Jan 19-21 nor do we have anything scheduled for any weekend in Feb yet. If you guys pick a date please notify us at least 1-2 weeks in advance so we can make the arraingments since we normally do not stay open all night, we just do it for special events. Also, my suggestion is to try and pick a date and give people at least 3-4 weeks notice so they can rearraing work schedules or such to attend. We have found this best. If you call the store, feel free to speak with Richard, he is aware you guys are looking at doing another all night event sometime soon.
  3. I hope to see you guys back again soon, but as for Jan 6th, that weekend is out due to the CS:1.6 tournament. Not knowing how late it is going to run being our first tournament we wouold rather not schedule another event that weekend. And just remember if you want 20 people there, we only have 16 computers. We do have console games or show movies on the tv, while others play and take turns, etc...
  4. We at Escape would be happy to host another "lock-in" for your group. We had no problems with the last one and hope everyone enjoyed it. We understand a slight problem with having to update some of the computers at the beginning though. That was from no one at the store playing the game and only access to a limited steam account to update. We have sense taken care of that problem and have access to a couple steam accounts to get the computers updated the morning of the next lock in if you guys decide to do another one. Todd
  5. Yes to answer a few questions. We have 16 computers and all loaded with CS:1.6. We will be using 10 of those computers for the tournament. $20 per person on the team includes entry into the tournament and chance at prize money for the top 3 teams. Due to time factor we are limiting the number of teams to 8, since we can only have one 5v5 match going on at a time. If this tournament takes off we will add 4 more machines so we can have 2 5v5 matches going on at a time. Also if this tournament works out we will be branching off into other games to do tournaments in like CS:S. I already mentioned this to Fatty, if we get to that point we may be asking for some help on setting a source tournament up. The $20 fee we understand is low but we are keeping it low since this is our first crack at tournaments. We want it low enough to attract enough people and people not get disappointed or upset if something should go wrong. Future tournament registration fees will likely be slightly higher. I will try and keep watch on this post to answer anymore questions or feel free to check out our web site www.escapeplay.net. Todd
  6. Hi guys, this is the guys from Escape. Computer place that rented computer at FragFest 2006. I talked to fatty and he told me I could post this but didn't know where to post so here goes. LOL We are starting to do tournaments at our store in 2007. We have some guys helping us set up the first tournament and it sill be Counter Strike 1.6. I know most of you are source guys but these guys play 1.6 so that is why we are doing that one first. If all goes well we would like to find people to help us put on other tournaments at our store. The CS:1.6 tournament will be Saturday January 6, starting at 11am. It is a 5 vs 5 team match, double elimination. $20 per person entry and top 3 places are paid out in cash prizes. CAL rules apply. If you would like any other information check out our web site at www.escapeplay.net or call the store. f you are in the Bedford area and bored that saturday feel free to stop by and see how it is going.
