  1. I am done playing this game until they make it so bases cannot be invaded by stacking furnaces on top of each other. The base I spent hours building on Aftermath got destroyed and completely looted because of that bullpoop. Not wasting any more of my time until this basic nonsense is fixed. Sorry guys

  2. on aftermath?

on aftermath there are guys patrolling the RV camps north and north west of our set up on wastes and are KOS so be becareful there.

Yes pretty much making it official for myself.   On Waste we have over a thousand rounds and no competition.  I mean there are people but so few and far in between   on wastes just sucks to go riding around the map and see no one.  I'm pretty sure we've pushed many off that server.

Well, I've recommended the move a couple of times to Aftermath due to there actually being other people playing on that server while Wastes is pretty much empty except for the occasional random person that you may run into on occasion.

While it may be a bit more of a challenge to get a base built and it not be raided, it is much more fun to have interaction with other players whether they be hostile or friendly. Mustard and I had a great interaction the other day on Aftermath and it convinced me to play there BUT I will go wherever everyone else decides.

I will gladly help build though and I think due to the population of Aftermath, we build in the trees like our current base on Wastes which makes it nearly invisible.

Also, do you think we can get a dedicated sub forum for this game?

  3. Swapping to server: Aftermath    heavily populated.

Is this official? I have two guys near where our base is now and last time I played with Mustard, he has one there as well. We were both well armed and can start building in that area.  I have another at the encampment nearby as well.

  4. Someone may have found the base. I am not sure. I was in the room storing ammo and looking for a bladed weapon (the inner door was closed) and I heart running and jumping. I asked in game who it was and I think they ran off. It may also have been zombies, there were about a dozen outside the door. I could be wrong though. Just an FYI.

Also, there is a new duping exploit and there is a list of other issues here: http://www.reddit.com/r/h1z1/comments/2tehgt/next_to_loot_being_broken_this_game_has_some/

There is a lot of whining going on when the game is Alpha. Not finding gear can be frustrating but overall, the game is pretty solid in comparison to what DayZ was when it first started.

  5. I have characters on both MurderHobo and Malice. Both are Medium to high populations meaning there are not any queue times. I am open to creating on other servers too if there is a consensus on where we all want to play. I will even rejoin GC if this becomes a thing.

  6. Well. I almost died just now. Out near Pleasant Valley and noticed a shack nearby meaning someone built it. Next thing you know, I hear a car (a pickup truck).  They tried to run me over while the other guy tried to bow me. I unfortunately for them had a wooden bow which does much more damage and has better range. I shot the truck a few times causing it to smoke and he kept trying to ram me as I ran behind trees. I ultimately got away through some nearby houses and heard them driving around. I was considering ambushing them and killing them with the longer ranged bow but I have to run out. I have to say though, my nerves were quite on end.

Another tip:  using in-game voice attracts zombies. I think they spawn and come to the area even if you do not see any there in the first place. As they tried to kill me, more and more zombies came as i gave them some choice words. I think their buddy was getting attacked by the zombies and they had to take off.

  7. I've been playing on Murder Hobo. This server has no login queue and is usually at Medium population. Here's a tip that I figured out after playing for the day.

When you spawn, the first thing you do is shred your T-shirt into cloth.  Then run around for the forest for a few minutes and as you run through bushes, be pressing that E-button.  What you want is Sticks and Black berries.  The sticks and cloth will let you craft a bow. The sticks alone will let you craft arrows.  Now you have a weapon. The black berries hydrate you AND fill you so it is two birds with one stone. Once you have these basics, you want  to stay NEAR the roads and find buildings that will hopefully have stash for you.

Also, do not use any of your airdrops unless you have someone playing with you. They almost always have a horde of zombies in them and while your buddy draws them away, you can grab the stash.  Also, it takes forever for it to land and others will be trying to steal your stuff and kill you in the process. Airdrops are not worth it at all really.

  8. Cheating in the different CS versions has been a problem for more than a decade. Hell, it's been a problem since the original betas first arrived in 99/2000. I'd seen what some of them could do and it was depressing. Things really haven't changed that much except that the cheaters are now smarter about not making it overly obvious. I could name a few people over the years that played on MMMM / GC / DOH servers that I thought and still think to this day cheated but it wouldn't accomplish anything to do so. It's one of the reasons I stopped playing cs years ago.

  9. Shift-Delete, as stated above, or there is even a setting that allows you to skip the recycle bin and always do a permanent delete.

Nothing is permanently deleted unless you encrypt the drive and then do a secure shredding of your files. Even then, there are ways.

  10. Antivirus are pretty much useless these days. They are a crutch for the clueless computer user to think they can do whatever they want on the computer with impunity while getting infected with everything under the sun.  You should have something but it should be light weight  (Webroot gamer version is my recommendation) and a lot of common sense. Don't use IE. Don't trust anyone or anything.

    Or run Linux.

  11. This topic is either complicating or simple and it also depends on your politics. Some see the same types of bias that runs rampant in your normal news and sports media flowing over into video game journalism. Where gamers just want honest news about video games, the radical feminist movement has infiltrated it and turned it into a mouth piece to bash video games that do not fit their political views. There is also the whole Zoe chic screwing around for positive reviews about her game. AND like all such controversies that reside on the internet, you get a bunch of anonymous trolls that do not represent either side of the debate making death and rape threats. Instead of treating the trolls like they should be treated (discredit and ignore them), the anti-gamersgate feminist crowd are attributing the anonymous trolls to the pro gamersgate crowd in an attempt to discredit their arguments and shut them up.

So in other words, politics like usual but injected into some place is doesn't belong.

  12.

Question for who is managing the Mumble server. I am trying to set one up myself for personal use and am curious if this is self-hosted (VPS) or through a Mumble provider. I’ve been having issues getting Mumble-Django to install properly so I am curious about what is being used and maybe what OS so I can switch if necessary. I got it all to run on Debian 6 but the version of Mumble Server (Murmur) and Mumble Django is a few version behind and lacks some features.

    Ours is hosted by Typefrag.

That is probably the easiest way to do it but a low-end VPS for $7 a year cannot be beat if only I could get this to work. I got Mumble to run on my RaspberryPi.

  14. Someday soon, like real soon, we'll be moving this website to new digs.  DONE! Please post any bugs/missings/upload fails/etc. in this thread. Thx.

We've been with FutureHosting for a few years now but needs and times change and for what we need they no longer have anything that fits our budget (or at least we can get moar elsewhere)

The newness is better of course. Dedicated cores vs shared cores. Same memory. More than double the HD space. Nginx, Zend Opcache, etc. We've upgraded the game servers, time to up our web game as well.

That means at some vague unannounced time the web will be down, and then it will be back up. There *might* be some missing things here and there but nothing that can't be replaced. There also might be some of the usual chop as we figure out what to cache and what to use to cache it and all that jazz.  SSL certs (blah) need redoing. Ton of junk.

But M0M is on a staycation right now so the timing for all this couldn't be better.

    In other words: Fun Stuff!

  15. I am selling my RaspberryPi Model B first generation (256MB RAM versus 512MB for the 2nd generation).

I can provide photos tonight when I get home if anyone is interested in it. For those that do not know what it is, you can find lost of information at the official site here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/

Basically it is a mini embedded computer that is meant to run Linux and other Linux types of OSs. It is very tiny and very low energy. I currently use it for an SSH connection to tunnel my Google Chrome through using a Proxy in order to access my internal network. I no longer need it.

Because it is coming with a case and the charger, I am asking $35 for it but am open to offers as well.

Here is my recent logon for reference:

Here is the TOP I just ran on my putty session. Notice the "up" of 120 days. It is super stable.

  16. I am selling my barely used iPod Touch 5th Generation 32GB model (black).

I am at work so no pictures at the moment. I got it for Christmas 2012 and have used it maybe 5 times. It may even be 64GB but I will have to look when I get home.

It is in perfect condition. I am looking for $175 (or $200 if 64GB) and will confirm this when I get home (had to put it on charger this morning because had it stored away in shirt drawer for last 6 months (turned off)).

Please let me know if interested.
