    Can't connect to Retro

    in Counter Strike

    It just crashes my machine. Connects to immut fine, but retro crashes. I assume this has something to do with the sv_pure, but I've never installed any hacks -- and I'd expect it not to die with a illegal memory read error.

     

    Dunno if anyone else experienced this -- I'm installing a fresh copy of source. Yay.

    Fixed user names reported as "unconnected" when greater than 32k players had connected to the server

    32,000 players?

     

    It likely means that the server's user database contains more than 32k players -- not that 32k players were connected to the server at one time.

    So, I walk in to a convenience store that happened to be in the same building as my doctors appointment. This clerk is sitting by the register with a little easle and a paint pallet painting a picture of a trout. So I took his card so I could look him up. Turns out he is quite talented. The convenience store must help pay the bills I guess.

    I was spec'ing, but I didn't know how to capture a demo :unsure:

    I do now .... apparently all I had to do was type 'record blah.dem' in console and then 'stop' later on.

    Hindsight, I shoulda logged off and found out how to do one, and then came back. It took less than 5 seconds to find the answer when I went lookin......bleah ... I will be ready next time. :bang:

     

     

    One of the players .. John Kimble (I think I got his name right) had demos of atleast 2 of them. pH and scAr from dust2 and cbble ... he may have gotten demos on the next map as well, but then he got banned and didn't come back. So I dunno whats up with that. There was another guy named (heh) Undies that I think had demos also.
