  1. I'll bring all my hoochie mama friends.

I assume you are talking about Shaft....he is already coming.

In all seriousness though I do hope more people sign up soon because it appeared that support for it was really high. In addition all the xt guys are coming which I never thought would happen. If more people don't sign up we will only have four 6 man teams for CS not including gl and discom (they each get to be their own individual team at this point). I predict it will be Team gl vs. Team discom in the final this year ,one vs. one in person, how is that not worth the price of admission alone?

  2. Watching LeBron cry about hard fouls and then watch that turd intentionally throw an commit a flagrant foul by throwing an elbow into the screener. He would have been destroyed if he had played in the 80s and 90s by "hard fouls". Even though he is the most gifted athlete to play in the NBA, he sure cries a lot. By rights he should have been ejected for throwing and intentional elbow, that was a "non-basketball" play. The hard fouls he was complaining about were at legit non-flagrant fouls.

gracias but ummm how do u know how i look like???? ................ JACKIE!!!!!?!?!!!?!?!

I was going to say something like, "I just like to imagine all the women on the internet are beautiful" But that just ended up sounding creepy. lol :)

Yuri there is a simple answer for all of those who didn't know, Shaft is a psychic. Somehow though, he is unable to harnass these powers to help him be good at counterstrike.....

  4. Ok I suppose all of you who have played this know this already but for other GO newbs like myself, change your monitor setting to television from computer screen under the visual options under GO and it removes almost all of the shadows if you have your brightness all the way up. Makes a huge difference in any map with dark shadowing.

  5. Ok, I finally caved in and will start playing GO in prep for Fragfest. My question for those of you who have been playing it for a while now is what do you recommmend to change on the settings as far as rates, cmd, updaterate, interps etc? Can you turn dead bodies off like in Source? How do you get your sight to become just a single dot? I have tried some of these commands from source and they must have changed or no longer be an option in GO. As far as my computer/internet, it should be able to run high end performance when it comes to fps and I normally don't have too much internet lag issues.

  6. Thanks for the posts guys. I will see if I catch her on a good day, but I doubt she will come as she does not game at all. So it would be more like honey please go do whatever you want to do while I go to Ohio. Not sure how that will fly, but if I work up the courage I will try.

Ask her if you can celebrate it the weekend before if you aren't busy or perhaps during the week. Of course I am not married, so that makes that suggestion easy for me to say.

  7. As Shaftiel pointed out, I didn't mean any specific cases, but if we look in a future perspectives, this may be a problem for regular individuals.

About the kids and guns: not selling guns is a great idea and I think it is the only non violent option. However, there are many other countries are eager to sell all kind of weapons to/on African continent. They don't need peace in that region. It's all about dirty politic and money.

Agreed Cat on both issues. I think it is a policy which needs careful evaluation and checks/balances. I do approve of its only known use so far though I guess was my point.

  8.

I see your point, and I agree that if an American citizen poses a real threat to our country they should be treated as an enemy. However I don't feel it invalidates my concern, insomuch as the Executive branch can make the decision that an American citizen is a threat without having to prove it. That is my issue. As we saw in the MacArthur days and other points in history, perceived threats are sometimes created out of paranoia, or blown out of porportion to its actual threat level. Giving the green light to the killing of American citizens without due process is not a good idea. At the very least you can have a trial in absentia and convict them, or at a minimum if there is an imminent threat, get an emergency court approval. Shrug, just think more than one branch of the government should be involved when we decide to assassinate our own citizens.

As for the nuclear option... thats not even in the same realm as this issue. Yes, if the Russians, or any other nation launches a nuclear attack on us, we have to be able to respond with as little red tape as possible. But this issue, of targeting and killing American citizens, is on a much lower magnitude of danger.

It is a precedent which sets us on a slippery slope, I do agree with you there Shaft and as citizens I think we will need to be wary of that, as you seem to be. I think if the policy is difficult for an individual to accept or reject that is good sign. It shows someone has really thought about both the legal and real world implications of the action. I am concerned for those in the camps of it is unconditionably acceptable or unconditionably unacceptable. I do believe that there is a joint House/Senate intelligence committee in Congress which does review each drone targeted killing in order to try and keep accountability. I remember reading that a while back when I read some articles/opinions on this topic.

  9. As far as I am aware, the only known case of this is the one I mentioned. I believe the legal argument made is that if it is infeasible to bring due process to bear against an individual then the national security interests outweigh the rights of that individual. I agree with this in principle. This man could have turned himself in for trial and he chose not to. I will also point out we have given the executive branch the power and authority to release hundreds or thousands of nuclear ICBMs as well if they deem it necessary.

I agree on your point about arming such nations. We shouldn't do it but once again our governments haved decided to do this many times before. Look no further than Afghanistan and Iraq. Remember we are 'the Great Arsenal of Democracy'. I am sure this is not what FDR intended when he made that comment.

  10. About child soldiers: it was big across internet, YouTube especially, in 2011-2012 years. IMHO: no oil no help. In addition, if US sent marines, lets say to Congo, would they fight against these children? Young soldiers will.

Killing suspected Americans without court and jury is another step of the government to gain more control over US citizens.

I would say suspected is not a fitting word for a man who has posted declarations of jihad against America, joined al Qaeda and recruited individuals to al Qaeda's cause. Now if you are saying you don't believe this man did this and it is a conspiracy of our government, that is a different conversation and one that I have no interest in discussing. My point is this man's actions had gone far beyond suspicion.

  11. I am assuming you are referencing the kiling of Anwar al-Awlaki. I have no issue with the removal of an American citizen who has allied themselves with a violent terrorist group and enemy of our nation such as al-Qaeda or its affiliates. Nor would I have a problem if our government removed such a person if they had allied themselves with another country against the USA during a time of war (declared or undeclared). Such an individual is a traitor and a combatant, whether or not they ever pick up a rifle or bomb. I understand the hesitancy in accepting this and the future precedent this action sets, however I still feel this was the appropriate action to take in this case. Perhaps the next application of this policy I will not agree with, but until then I am glad an enemy was removed with a missile instead of having to put our soldiers at risk on a direct mission in a hostile environment.

The child soldiers situation is terrible I agree. Unfortunately things haven't changed much over thousands of years of human history in this respect.

  12. Just to let everyone know the Economy Inn said I booked the last two bed room for Friday night. Apparently there is a Toby Keith concert very close and the hotel is booked heavily. Now this may or may not be true, it is just what the hotel told me. I recommend booking your rooms early for FF if this is the case.

  13. since the forum won't let me start a new thread

    Oops. Let me fix that...

Also blame Indiana. Not a fan of selling state infrastructure to private companies. Tolls for that Indiana stretch are going to be so ridiculous in a few years.

Haven't been on 30 myself but the extra time is the dif. between highway and interstate speeds. Summer driving so no winter problems; always the potential for road construction though. You're in a tough spot. The toll route is easily the fastest and most direct/convenient.

Actually Ohio tolls are more than the Indiana ones when I calculated them. Around $9.50 vs. $12.25. Illinois has some small tolls just before the Indiana border but they aren't much. I suppose it comes down to is it worth $22-25 per hour to drive an extra hour each way. Right now I am leaning towards yes it is since that money could go towards the hotel. My only fear is that I have never travelled US 30 and I have travelled I-80 several times.

  14. Well since the forum won't let me start a new thread I will post this here since it has to do with travel. For those familiar with Ohio roads I need some advice. I am planning my route and I can take I-80E across all of Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio to FF which is pretty much a straight shot. I have taken this route before and it is easy and overall good roads. However I will end up paying about $50 in round trip tolls, thanks to Indiana and Ohio. I mapped a non-toll route that takes me mainly through US 30 through Indiana and Ohio. In Ohio I then jump on I-71 to I-76 and then on up to route 8. I am not familiar with this route and am hoping people can let me know road conditions and speed limits. The downside is this route says it will add about an hour drive each way but it only adds a total of 25 miles each way to the round trip - less than a gallon of gas total.

  15. Its much easier if you just kill the other team.

    Agree

And yes if you have the bomb down, please stay with it, and if there are two people don't hold hands, make sure you cover entry points.

Here is a standard situation: only one on each side left, CT kills last T - round is over, if the bomb was down T's might win if the last guy stayed alive long enough. And the other way round: CT's managed to intercept the bomb, but T's killed all CT, however it took too long for T's to get the bomb, they simply ran out of time, round is over - CT's win. Killing isn't everything.

Don't the T's lose if they run out of time as long as there is a CT alive and how can the T's kill all the CTs and still lose as long as there is time left in a bomb map? Is this different in GO than Source (I haven't played GO since the right before the release)? I am confused by the situation Cat outlined.
