I was gonna say you could try using a different client port. Just guess at some ports until you could get out. I know a guy who was able to get by his school's firewall using port 7000 instead of 27005.

I wish we could embed shockwave files here....I have a lot I could post up.

hehe....Did I do that?

Last LAN I went to the host got "Smoking" rooms (previous LANs were non-smoking rooms) and the fire alarm actually got set off...good thing there weren't sprinklers.

Well, svchost.exe actually does a lot of things. As the name implies, it is a "host" of sorts for different services. As we speak, I currently have 5 svchosts.exe running in my Task Manager.

Hmm, I thought that message was sent by the Messenger service...must not be. I don't get those messages and I have it disabled. I do get a little systray icon telling me disk-space is low though.

Maybe he wanted the AK member status icon?

Moss, when I said ALL messages, I meant all "Net Send" type messages. The system uses the Messenger Service (not to be cofused with Windows/Microsoft Messenger) for informational popups such as Print Notifications, Low Virtual Memory warnings, Low Disk-space warnings, etc. All of these types of messages will stop when you disable the Messenger service.

RedMagic...trust me, go with the manual transmission. Ton's better than any automatic. Your sister can learn quick enough if she really needs the car.

Hehe, nah, I have rescinded (sp?) my "witch" hunt Rooster.

Ok, isn't this the second time you have tried to trick people into joining your "Outwar army"? I find this extremely lame.

Rooster, just a heads up but this Hoogz "kid" is probably around my age...at least yours.

I am in the beta. Can't say anything cuz of the NDA but I just got in and haven't had a chance to play yet.

I didn't know if the actual link would be appropriate for this MB.

Another way to block the Net Send messages (the gray "system-type" pop up messages) would be to block ports 135, 137-139 on your firewall/router. Disabling the Messenger service prevents ALL messages, even the systems ones (such as "Disk almost full" messages and such) while blocking the ports on the router prevent any such messages from outside your network. One catch though, blocking these ports also effectively blocks "Windows" sharing and Network Neighborhood outside your network too.

I was going to suggest the nForce2. It is supposed to be a really good board. It does have onboard video but it also comes with an AGP slot to upgrade. As for video card. I am a diehard nVidia fan and I am getting ready to buy an ATI 9700 Pro (maybe the AIW) because nVidia just shot themselves in the foot (not to mention other body parts) with the 5800.
