Did you ever sell it? I am kind of curious what you got for her besides the fun experience of actually doing it your self (I know very little about cars but would like to restore an old mustang sometime in my life).

I don't see anything wrong with drinking now and then. But one must remember that what is ok for one person is not ok for another because 1) alcohol affects each person differently and 2) Alcoholism is a genetic disposition.

I had the rare drink when in high school (could probably count them all on one hand) because my dad is an alcoholic. He has been sober for 30 years now but I know when he did drink he was mean and belligerent (wait, now that I think about it...he still has those tendencies...hmmmm ) and I didn't want to become like that. Also, I am a lippy person and I didn't want to get drunk and bust on the wrong person.

Also, I never needed alcohol to have a good time. I preferred to remember my good times the next day instead of just praying to the porcelain god.

Hehe, the flood control on our old forum had got pushed to as much as 85 seconds I believe because of misuse.

Well, I didn't actually play in any "organized" sports in high school. I was a band geek and it took up all my time. I did play tennis regularly with a couple friends and went to the varsity tennis tryouts on day one but the schedule conflicted with band so I didn't go to anymore.

I also enjoyed (and still do) a good pickup B-Ball game.

Sadly, it was also shut down when the server got nixed.

I haven't been here that long so I apologize for speaking out of turn but taking the timeframe at which the two posts of Hurricane's were written, I think "bipolar" is a rather apt description rather than a "low blow".

Probably around 7-8, but most were from 8 years ago or more. The latest was coming back for a little LAN party at a friend's house. It was around 4AM and besides my computer, I had a little TV I had been storying at his house in my front seat. I pull to an intersection that had 3 lanes on my side but 4 lights. Left lane was "turn only", middle lane was "straight", right lane was "turn only". Lights in order from left to right were "Left arrow", "normal light", "normal light", and "right arrow".

I interpreted the left 2 lights as if it were a "double light" (left green arrow go...red, yield) because the signals were not really clear. It was really stupid on my part because I saw the two cops sitting at the gas station on the corner before I pulled out...but I honestly thought I was in the right.

Anyway, i see them start following me but since the road is a winding, no-shoulder road, they didn't pull me over until it was safe about 4 miles down the road. I had no clue how they would interpret what they saw. A shaved-head, ear-pierced guy in a mustang with a TV in the front seat...at 4am.

Anyway, when I explained to the cop my thinking, about the 3 lanes/4 signals, he said I was wrong, that the setup wasn't like that. I said, Hey, we can go back and check right now. He went ahead and wrote me a ticket for "failure to yield" ($55 + $45 court fees) and said that he would go back and check the signal setup (and I should feel free to check it again as well). He said that if he was incorrect, he would say so in court (making me think it would get thrown out in court).

Court date comes around and the judge decides that, based on my excellent driving history, he would throw the ticket out on the condition that 1) I enroll and take the states (Virginia) "Driver's Improvement Program (DIP)" and have not other infractions for 6 months.

So, to get out of a $100 ticket, I had to take an afternoon off work and pay $50 for the DIP class plus $45 court fees...wow $5 savings. At least I saved my driving record though so insurance doesn't get affected.

For the record, that case is made by Antec and repackaged/sold Enermax, Chieftec, Alienware, and a ton others (Googlegear even has a "house" case that is the Antec case.

Second, make sure when you buy your mobo/memory what the best configuration is. Some mobos highly recommend you running paired memory. Also, like has been said, for gaming, cas2 is the way to go. Last I checked, Googlegear.com had a great deal on some 512MB cas2 Corsair XMS memory. Also, if you plan to ever do some overclocking, you might want to go with the DDR3500, that way, if you OC your fsb, you will also get some (albeit minimal) increase in your RAM performance as well.

Like has been said, a power supply is key. Just getting a 450w one doesn't always do the trick cuz of the way the power is distributed across the rail. Often, the 5v and the 3.5v (is that the right numbers?) share the same rail. The next power supply I get will either by an Enermax (which still shares the 5v/3.5v rail) or the Antec TruPower (which has a dedicated rail per each).

Vid card...I myself am going to move away from the nVidia and get an ATI Radeon AIW 9700 Pro in the very near future. Since this is the last vid card I get for a couple of years, I wanted the best (or rather, on generation back to save a little $$) so it will last.

Sound...If it is a key issue to you, get the Audigy2...you can't go wrong. If not, just use onboard. I have been using onboard sound for the past 6 months and it hasn't bothered me. Of course, I am also going to be getting an Audigy2 Platinum to go with my Radeon. Aren't tax returns great?

Case...you can get more than adequate ones for very cheap. Some good quality ones and sharp looking to boot would be the Lian Li or Coolermaster cases. Being aluminum, they are more cooling-efficient. And if you want space, the Lian Li 700 series (the server series) has more space than you can ever want.

Hard drive...I would go with one of the Western Digital 8MB cache ones. I saw a great deal on a 200GB one a week ago on techbargains.com . Would have got it but didn't have the room on the CC. You might want to opt for one bigger than 80. If you are going to sound mixing/recording, for good quality, that will take up a lot of space.

Hmm, I think that is all I have to say.

All I have ever done for XP is have the latest nVidia drivers and disabled vsync like Rackish described.

Actually SwOOp, I ended with around 10040 posts. But most of those came from the fact that I had a very looooonnnnggggg period of downtime at work. I don't foresee that happening again...but I will do my best!

Fatty, yeah, this is well past the spawn time. Both times he attacked me (he only killed me the second time...first time I was able to kill him first) and the time he TK'ed another T, I was already in the house and had my awp zoomed down the tunnel.

When I hinted a the idea the he could get in trouble for it he said something along the lines of "Oh no, I might get banned?!?! There are just like 10000 other server to choose from" I and a couple others told thim to then in fact GO choose another.

I think he hung around for another round or two, did some more FF'ing and TK'ing, then either dropped or changed his name.
