These acronyms are marginally less offensive than the whole phrases spelled out, but to simplify things for everyone--players and admins alike--we've made a clear ruling that they're not allowed. There should be less confusion this way.

Failing to comply with this simple request may result in a warn/kick and repeat offenders should realise that their actions will have consequences.

It is not the Admins or Servers fault for applying rules, they are here for a purpose and that is to help you behave with dignity and have respect to ALL concerned; finally and above all else, this is what makes the GC Community stand above the rest of the servers out there and I think that I speak on behalf of everyone who contribute to this server by saying, we wish this to remain the case.

In general, if an admin warns someone--just don't do it again. I'm not sure why this has to be any more complicated than that.

There are always going to be people who like to try and make complications, mountains and molehills spring to mind.

I totally agree with what you just said Jackie. My only point is the rules saying "no swearing" and I totally agree w/ that policy and think it is a good one, but letters that do not form words are in fact not words.

Bit of a paradox here. You totally agree, but fail to understand the representation of those letters. These acronyms etc have been in use in the English language for some years and therefore have become a terminology of phrase, resulting in the pedantic pedagogy in their own right, hence, they are in fact internationally accepted as words and have found their place in the annuls of modern day lexicons.

In fact, I see stuff like this all the time in Disney movies.

I could continue to analyse the pedantics etc., going on in this thread, but rather than being seen as insulting to people, I will conclude with this: the dumbing down of language is in part due to a political regimen whose control of the mass media is to keep the underclasses ill-educated. The sad fact is that society has been so manipulated by mass media under the auspices and approval by governments that this so-called 'Freedom of Speech' is actually not worth the 'expletive' paper it's written on.

One further quick point I may add, you all contractually agree to abide by a code of conduct whether purchasing membership or not.

If you do not possess the maturity to express yourself without the use of an expletive, abbreviated, acronym, misspelling or some other derivation of form, then either DO NOT say anything or you are free to go somewhere else.

I am but a poor lowly admin doing my duty looking after your welfare. I don't really want to kick or ban anyone from having a good time, but what some of you fail to comprehend is that with so many new people coming here they learn by experience and this has a bigger effect upon the GC Server and Community than you care to realise.

We all know that a single player can bring down an entire team, especially annoying and frustrating when it happens at the beginning of any round.

There have been many other occasions prior to this that he has been kicked or warned.

Hi BullsEye, thanks for coming here.

I remember it well : Hard Rain : It was discussed at beginning, the team plan was to stay off roof unless there was an early Tank. You failed to follow the concensus of the team plan. You ignored warnings given by your teammates and myself, jeapordising the entire team, which turned out to be the case. Subsequently, I had no option but to enforce a ban of One (1) day.

As you are new to L4D2, I seriously advise you to listen to your teammates and especially Admin.

Get some practice and hope to see you back in game tomorrow.

The simple answer is YES - members do have the ability to !votekick unruly players and if they start behaving even worse then ask an Admin to pop in, if one is unavailable record a demo and/or take screenshots.

After the crash earlier, I can't get steam to run L4D - have looked at steam site for suggestions, but they are damn useless. Doing a 2nd Integrity check this moment.

Let me close this by saying, welcome to the forums and thanks for your input which is quite succinctly put - according to your own P.O.V., that is.

However, it's not unusual in this scenario for infected to save points to buy tanks when survivors leave the building - this is almost guaranteed - but you abandoned your teammates as soon as a tank appeared inside, leaving them to deal with the onslaught - this is my POV.

Please also remember, it's virtually impossible for an admin to keep an eye and ear open on 20 people, if we don't see what's happening to you and misinterpret what we see due to lack of communication, then, I'm sorry.

Besides, there are auto-warnings that appear in game e.g. "abandoning your teammates may result in a kick or ban without warning".

Remember, this is a team game and NOT a 'Me' game.
