  1. Great topic Allanon!!!!!

This is rather difficult to narrow it down to just 5 albums over ones' entire life. Music had more of an impact on me in my early teens into highschool then it does now, but I can't just focus on just one time period. Here is goes. In no particular order.

Automatic for the People by R.E.M. In my opinion R.E.M.'s best album. This album covered a wide range of emotions for me and fit just about any mood I was in and influenced me for some time.

Original Movie Soundtrack - The Matrix. This has to mark my entry into "electronica." Even though I had singles and remixes prior to this album this one really pushed me into the genre. A genre that has since splintered into many sub-categories which I probably have a sample of everything currently playing on my iPod.

Deep Breakfast - Ray Lynch. Ok, if anyone knows who this is or what kind of music he plays I give you major kudos. This and other artists is what I was listening to at a very young age. My grandmother would play this for me when I needed help getting to sleep. This probably paved the way for me for many of my musical tastes as it does parrallel several other genres of music.

Drink the Sea - The Glitch Mob. This is my current favorite and only on this list because this album is just completely awesome from first track to last. I haven't been this excited about an album or a group since I was, well, a teenager.

Crash by Dave Matthews Band. Ok, honestly I'm not into DMB anymore. Nothing to do with their politics or anything, but this was the goto for me in a very troubling time in my life and I now associate this music with that time in every regard possible. I've completely moved on from that time any everything associated with it. Still, even though I don't count myself as a DMB fan I can't ignore the impact that this album had.

Well, there you have it. Are these my all time best albums? No, but each played a very significant role in my life. So much so that you could actually chroeograph my life simply by what music I was listening to at that time.

"What a long strange trip it has been."

  2. I'm more interested in woods ball and I'm hearing from both sides the pros and cons with each. I forgot which gun I was looking into but it wasn't electric. I've put this on the back-burner so-to-speak due to other things that have come up but I'm still interested. I'm hopeing I can get some other friends interested as well.

  3. I'm currently pricing a new AMD build and I'm not going to wait for the 8000 series either. My budget is $1100 and I'm using the AMD 8320, Asus Tuf 990FX Gen3 Rev 2 mobo and a 7950 for the vid card. Hopfully I'll be getting everything ordered in the next month. I'm going with this Asus mobo because it actually has the Thunderbolt header on the board with the Asus card currently waiting for approval. If you haven't used Thunderbolt do yourself a favor and make sure whether you go Intel or AMD that it has TB. It is a dream for folks like me who move large files constanly. I actually want to put together a TB display but I'm only planning on running two monitors. I'm more interested in it in storage. Anyways, I'm getting carried away.

Yes, $1000 for a vid card, no matter how unbelievably awesome is just nuts.

After taxes I pay about $54 for this service. I could be getting a lot better connection but I currently live in an apartment complex and there are a lot of people on this hub. Remember, these tests are in Mb which is MegaBITS, not Bytes. So do some math and my actuall MB is about 2.24 MB per sec. Still not to shabby.

  5. It's going to be on PC and the PS Vita. You can actually download it now and play it on the Japanese servers. There is an english patch out that corrects most of the text in the game. Sega is keeping it F2P but you can buy tickets for things for your avatar. All the items are cosmetic so nobody can just buy the best weapon/armor/etc and out class everyone. I'm hearing that the US and Europe will be on the same servers. Although you can only group with with three other players in a group you can see other players outside and your group and actually "Team" up with other groups to do encounters/quests/boss battles. At least, thats what I'm seeing on these vids. That could change for the US version. The videos from PAX are the most recent and although it doesn't give you hardware specs for requirements it doesn't look to be all that graphically intense. I'm also hearing that it will launch in February but nobody has anything up for preorder right now so that may be false. Regardless, I'm looking forward to it.

  6. Awww. BL2 is a great game. Ohwell. Great to see that others are interested in PSO2. Still says the release is early 2013. I'm going to go look up some vids on it.

  7. Yo,

So, I'm deciding to get into paintball. I've played a few times and really enjoyed it. I'd figure it would help me get a little workout too so thats a plus.

So, before I head out to my local store I wanted to pick everyone's brains here. If any of you play...

I hear all over the place that the Tippman 98 is the best all around gun for starters and beyond. I've looked at it and others but I'm leaning towards the Army Project Salvo. I like the more realistic guns and I also want to relocate the air tank so it doesn't hang down below the gun. Actually, I don't know if that can be done.

I'm leaning towards woodsball and scenerios. I'm thinking CS but in real life. Plus, thats what I've played in the past and I like the longer tactical games rather than the "run and gun" style that are over in minutes.

So, anyone got any tips? Websites? Videos that you would recommend? I've come across a lot online but the more information I can get to not only make a more informed purchase but to make this a better experience the better.

    Thanks!

  8. Yeah, I've tried 64 on the GC server and my input/output starts to drop into the red. I don't notice any improvement in gameplay. I could try even lower settings and see what happens, but if I'm only up/downing so little when everyone is getting and receiving so much more information it may be for not.

I know my rig is really starting to show it's age and I'm planning out my next build now. I should be starting to get parts for that build after the holidays. So this may all be for nothing in the next couple of months.

  9. Ok, I've tried everything that has been posted to improve my CS:GO performance on the server. I've adjusted and re-adjusted rates, updaterate, cmd, interp, interp ratio and I can not find a setting that gives me decent performace. I'm constanly being shot when I'm clearly behind a corner or wall. Reg is non-exsistant and I'm just fed up. All of that goes away when I enter a 64 tick server. Gameplay is spot on. Reg is perfect and everything plays as its suppose to be. I get a solid 60 fps on average on any map. Sometimes it would dip into the high 40's if its full. I've talked to others who've had this problem as well. I know that 128 tick is preferred so I'm just seggesting it. Could it be tried to see if it works for everyone without to much trouble?

  10. One of the robots looks like one of the villans from Big O, while the other one looks like the bot from Supreme Commander. Don't like the remote piloting either. Either get in the robot to pilot it or go home. Rocket Punch is awesome and I hope they give a shout-out or two to Godzilla.

P.S. Robot Jox is a CLASSIC!

  11. So, SWTOR is now free to play. The F2P option gives you just the story line and limted flashpoint/warzone access but I decided to revisit the world of SWTOR and see whats going on.

    Wow, I'm lost.

So, during the time I've been away they reduced the number of servers to like 8. The guild I was in is no more and I have no idea where to pick up from when I left. There's some new content and whatnot but really don't know what to do.

Let me cut to the chase and get other peoples opinion on this. I loved this game when it came out. Played all the time. Got into my friends guild so I could at least attempt to raid but ended up being more of a solo player. I have a desire... don't know how large of a desire... but I want to pick up and start playing again, but I don't know if I want to return to a paid subscription and pay money for being lost. Does anyone else still play this game or have a desire to return to it if they've been away like I have? Should I just forget how awesome it is being a Sith and cutting people down with dual lightsabers and move onto something else? I'm conflicted and I need help!

  12. Im in the same boat. My current comp was built in 2008. Processors are, well, processsors but AMD is due to launch the 8000 series GPUs early 2013 so that may be worth waiting for. Or, getting a good price on 7970's and doing a Crossfire build. I may stay on the budget side of things but Far Cry 3 may force me to shell out a few extra dollars to run that at a comfortable 60fps with everything maxed.

  13. Yep. Been playing with Biggs, Jackie and C.I.D. joined in yesterday. Just as in BL1 everything is run and gun and get the loot. The scope of BL2 seems a lot larger early on in the game. BL started you out small and worked up, but in BL2 the 'world' is just huge to begin with. The writing and voices are hillarious and I think maybe even a little darker and morbid than BL1. Co-op is great. I actually enjoy it better in a group versus single player. Only problem I've encountered is sending invites. Somestimes they don't go out or people haven't been able to join. Menu is indeed different and there are more things to keep track of like your Badass points and tokens. Also, they have a sepperate currancy for upgrading ammo count, bank slots and backpack slots and right now it's hard to come by. I'm sure that later in the game it will be more frequent and we can upgrade accordingly. All in all great game and if you are a fan of BL than this is a must have. I'm sure the DLC for BL2 will be great and well worth it.

  14. I still play off and on. Got my second toon to 60 (Barbarian) Still drudging along in act 2 Inferno with my Monk. Trying to sell gear to get some gold to gear up my Barbarian for Inferno. It's slow going.

  15. Yeah, everyone is riding the hype trying to sell stuff for the max $250 right now. Prices are already starting to drop cause the ppl out there who would actually spend that much on in game items is very, very small.

Thus, the prices in the regular gold AH are starting to fall drastically. I just hit 60 and I purchased two one-handed swords, pants, belt, chest and gloves and only spent 100K. Few days ago that same gear would have run me 3 mil easily. I've had a two-handed legendary sword in the AH for the past 3 days first putting it up for what I saw it was going for in the AH and no buyers. Lowered the buyout and I'll probably have to lower it again. It's a decent two-hander and I'll be lucky to get 50K from it. Just a few days ago they were going for 1 mil all day long. The top end gear will still command the higher prices, but the days of 1-5 BILLION gold for stuff is now behind us.
