What a useful comment there johnny.
You can nerf the hunter sure but it won't stop players from standing out in the open for no reason just waiting to get pounced which is what lead to this thread.
Blame the hunters not the players getting pounced 3-4 times if not more per chapter.
I for one am ok with the changes.
-
No they are not, the first chapter you can side step the hunters, for the second it's kinda hard not to get pounced since you got to climb up the ladder and as for the 3rd chapter, again, you can side step the hunters but that only works if you look up which sadly a lot of people don't do. Granted there will be times where you are pinned by failed hunter or a charger or a smoker and can't help getting pounced so just hope your team can get the other hunters before they get you.The first 3 chapters of Dead Air are almost unplayable because hunters usually succeed there easily.
The only reason I see to Nerf the hunter is that people won't feel that guilty getting pounced repeatedly.
-
So how does lowering the points earned per pounce help the losing team?
Scramble after x amount of points or give x mount of points to the losing team to help them out.
-
It's so easy for top players to buy tanks within a minute - maybe we should increase tank to 65pts and heal at 40pts?
How does that help the losing team?
-
It takes that long because people take very long to ask for points, either they are about to die or got one or two more people incap as a result of waiting.

Now this post, it helps Deadlock in no way whatsoever, I assure you. NO WAY WHATSOEVER. All the members of the GC community posting their opinions here won't affect how we review the evidence or the outcome.
That is not entirely true Johnny since it at least makes you think you made a mistake and have to re-review the evidence. Most certainly won't affect your decision but we can at least show our support.

Yes carlos, now you can watch Elias get taken away by jockeys.

does the suicide bind work?
Yes, don't use it as survivor, you might end up buying something by mistake.
-
I was part of that beatdown on Carlos. I was also the rocket smoker on dead air, that one was epic.
The jockey is the natural enemy for Elias, I got him twice on The sacrifice chapter 2 the other day both times from full health lol I took him back almost to the saferoom.

Server 1 crashed at 12:10 pm then server 2 crashed at 2:11 pm today.
In both cases the round was ending.
-
The AWP specifically is just something that tips the balance of the game too heavily towards the survivors.
That depends on the skill level of the player using it.
You can have a lot of people using awp simply because is OP but that don't mean they are very good with it, in the long term it will only hurt them.
AWP shouldn't deal 450dps to the tank, is just ridiculous.

Oh I thought I had a lot less hits, I don't like to throw rocks unless I have to play long.
-
Server 3 crashed on No Mercy chapter 4, I put out fireworks at the elevator before the crash, at 1:09pm est.
-
If nobody asked for points then it'll show "wait, what?"
-
If it shows "wait, what?" then it means someone already sent that person some points.
As for that bind, you are sending ALL your points to that person.
-
bind "7" "sm_sp; menuselect 1; menuselect 2"
thanks red, but shouldnt it end in menuselect 1 to comfirm the transaction
Pretty sure you don't need that last bit anzul since you already confirmed the amount you are sending.
-
Just type the command out. It's easy.
Problem is, some people don't do it.
I don't need to open the chat -> type !sp (someone's name) (pts) -> Enterwhats the comand line for that bind?
i already have sp binded, but not the direct sp when people use np.
bind "7" "sm_sp; menuselect 1; menuselect 2"

No, that cleared things up.
Admins can throw up a vote if the general consensus wants to skip a finale regardless of score. It's up to the admin to actually do it. They're not obligated to do it, but protocol on finale skipping should be followed even if an admin is the sole person not wanting to skip.
You said if people ask, but then you also say it's up to the admin to put up the vote or not. The latter makes it feels like people shouldn't ask for skip vote at all since it's up to the admin whether he wants to skip or not.
You say you have protocol to follow, but again its up to the admin.
-
Admins are not, or should not in any case, assume someone is doing one thing apart from another just by observing them for 5 seconds and taking action that fast. Usually just "admiring the view" vs deadstopping is pretty distinguishable. Once an admin is able to discern what a player is doing through observation, a proper recourse should be taken. Besides, if people are "admiring the view" in a game that's 7 years old, maybe they should be playing a game that doesn't look as bland as L4D2 does...maybe that's me though. I can't personally think of any view that's worth admiring unless it's Peanut getting pounced on.
By "admiring the view" I mean they stand still looking around doing nothing but get pounced, just not on purpose.
Also, I want to know if admins are obligated to put up a skip vote if people ask for it regardless of the score.
-
What about people simply standing in the open admiring the view but getting pounced, you could argue they wanted to try deadstopping and failed or were just standing there for no reason at all too.
Also, I want to know if admins are obligated to put up a skip vote if people ask for it regardless of the score.
-
At what point is considered griefing? the way this is going anyone standing still in open area will be considered griefing because he got pounced by the few that can jump around the map.
-
What if the game is already won or lost and still want to play the finale to use as practice, is it bad in such case?
-
Custom maps proved to be too hard for most people.

Cut the points in half, people will still get pounced regardless of how many points you lower it.
Basically you want to remove the hunter altogether because of your inability to look up for hunters, yeah its the hunters fault for survivors not sticking to the basic and most simple of things, look up and dodge. At least that's the feeling I get from this thread.
