Hey all. I am getting a server for my team(gfe) soon(next two weeks) and would like some advice on how to get it running and how to customize it. Will it be like running a lan in 1.5 or harder? I could get it going in 1.5 but now whenever my team and I want to run a lan, we cant figure out how to set one up.... maybe im still a nub. I hoep you all reply with much wisdom and knowledge becasue this server will nto take away from my play time on FightClub and tropolis but improve our team. hopefully you'll let me know soon.

most often one of my roomates is either playing CS with me or not on his comp. The other is just always online but not nessisarily doing anything that would disrupt ping(aka serfing net and such)

I will call Comcast Cable soon. We're knida sick of this ping and want it stopped.

thanks guys. I tryed all that and still get bad ping randomly. I guess it could be the cable because it is shared with two other roommateas and soon a server ! well i guess if thats all there is fomr you guys thanks for the help. no its not wireless, i got a linksys router, dumb radio shack modem(current comcast install) and a good card (runs through my graphics card... is that bad?). Thanks for the suggestions.

team | gfe is going to start tryouts for a team that is competitive and professional. We will be trying to join MCC soon after forming. We will have a server soon(next two weeks) and will be holding tryouts during games in Fightclub(as to admin standards there). When I first found tropolis, I was probably playing under "Mark_is_noob" becasue i was. Then it changed to Jaed(clan NBAB-neverbutteralwaysbacon) which had been ny gaming name on descent and Dark forces 2 and other such early games. I hadnt played a online game in about 4 years until I stumbled across CS. Now you all know me as jane | gfe(girls are freakin evil). Jane is a girls name, so is Mary(no its not a referance to that drug) and we liked the fake irony of playing with girls names under a clan name of gfe.

We are talking to admins of Fightclub to see if we can get a time to hold these tryouts(as we dont have our own server yet... Fatty maybe talk to you about getting a server?). team gfe is seeking professinal players who adhear to tropolis and FightClub rules(no swearing, fair play, no trash talk)and who can shoot and play as a team. We are a new team who has never played in Cal as a team though members have played in it before. We are looking to enter MCC asap. I was talking to PuppySuprise and Wanted in 17 States today in game. We were talking about how my ping is consistant around 70 until rendomly it spikes for days to about 1900(literally). I was wondering how to fix this and how to make it perminant? Wanted described something about a registry fix of some sort, but coulndt describe it completely. I was hoping I could get some help from you all... I NEED TO PLAY CS ALL DAY EVERYDAY! I AM ADDICTED(as all of you who read these forums must be as well)!
