  1. I'm just saying...you're all making dumb choices by arguing over the past.

Bush screwed up. Clinton screwed up. Obama will screw up.

    Welcome to reality.

I just had to get that off my chest...

  2. The people who complain about this should give the community their college grant money back and go get a job at McDonalds..

Or they could just pay for college on their own and not expect the government to give them a dime.

I'm sorry...but REQUIRING community service is a form of socialism.

I never needed (or asked) for the governments help.

If the idea is "help others, get help from the government" then this is a good idea (i.e. trade community service while in college for grant money)...but that's not the idea is it?

  3. wow. His books were some of my favorites when I was younger.

Jurassic Park was one of my favorite books I've ever read. My copy is literally falling to pieces it was read so many times.

  4. Every human I have ever met looks crazy in some way to someone else. I would prefer the politician who is straightforward and shows his "crazy" to the one who smiles and compliments me while watching a tiger creep up behind me.

  5. Voting Ron Paul is a novel idea, but you may as well just not vote.

Whenever I hear this I want to punch a puppy in the face.

I know that voting for Ron Paul will not do anything THIS ELECTION. However, imagine where our country could be if every person who listened to that argument had instead voted for that third party.

Changing a government in a non-violent fashion takes decades at minimum.

Using that logic your vote for John McCain or Barack Obama doesn't matter either.

Stop giving in to the system and start thinking for yourself...i.e. vote for who you want to no matter what the expected outcome.

  6. Its a biological certainty that kids will have sex, so why pretend they wont?

Of the people that I am close to that I went to high school with (private Christian high school), roughly 1 in 10 had sex before marriage. Of those that did not have sex before marriage, every single one of them have healthy and happy marriages. The ones that had sex before marriage to this day still have problems in every romantic relationship they have.

Obviously those are pretty simplistic arguments and a small representation of the real world...but I much prefer to look at life based off of my own experiences than the experiences of a bunch of random people polled on a street corner.

Therefore, my view of the world is that teaching kids responsibility and restraint when it comes to everything in life is the correct way to go.

Also, love your kids and be honest with them.

  7. I had a really long reply typed up, but I figured I'd revise it to say this:

If you think you wouldn't fall for a similar prank if you were in a similar position as Sarah Palin, you're an idiot.

These people are professional pranksters and have even pranked the President of France that they were impersonating when speaking with Palin.

    <sarcasm>

So clearly, her falling for the same prank makes her an idiot.

    </sarcasm>

    Vote for Ron Paul tomorrow!!!

  8. Someone told me about this short story last week and I really liked it.

It's scifi and it's not something that is going to explode your brain with the complicated character interactions, but it will give someone who has never read George R. R. Martin (or who likes him and hasn't read this story) a chance to be entertained.

You can actually read the whole thing at wattpad.com.

  9. Vista is crap. Even Microsoft thinks so.

No it's not. Take your bias elsewhere. Vista is a better OS then XP and support for XP will end before Vista support. I'll agree that Vista is a resource hog but just turn off all the eye candy and you have yourself a faster, more stable, longer supported OS than XP.

Vista is so stable that the company I work for (Watlow Electric which is multi-national) has officially abandoned Vista to go back to XP.

There are currently 2 laptops in the entire company that are using Vista. Mine and one of my managers. Mine is being switched to XP tomorrow.

I know how to use computers. I have all the eye candy and stupid alerts turned off. The programs that run the worst (for me) on Vista are Microsoft Office, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005.

4 of those are flagship applications for Microsoft and they run like complete junk on the flagship operating system.

In 2-3 years time, after 2 or 3 Service Packs have come out, I am sure that Vista will be an awesome OS. Just like XP was crap until Microsoft fixed it over the next few years and now it is at least stable.

  10. What sort of computers would you have?

    I've been wondering this actually.

If none of you ever used a pc for gaming, what sort of computers would you want to have in your life?

Personally, I'd want a mid-level laptop for every day use, and I'd want a Media PC of some sort to hook up to my television.

What I'm really asking about is what sort of spec's you'd want though.

  11. Judge quite a bit actually.

Like I said, I listened to them for years on the drive to work. Then one day I just got sick of hearing their childish fart jokes and turned em off and never looked back.

However, they DO have hilarious comedians on and as long as the comedian is the one talking their show is great!
