  1. <joking>If a president knows how to use a computer they will just surf porn all day. Case in point...Clinton knew how to use a computer</joking>

Though I don't think it is a requirement that a candidate know how to use a computer though I find it strange. It does add the perception that the individual is out of touch with the modern times though.

  2. I believe the economy is tanking in part because of the easy loans people were getting for years. My first house loan was like pulling teeth. Had to have everything...had to get Discover to remove a blotch on my credit report because I had paid a $25 bill late or I would not have gotten the loan. Skip ahead 10 years from that & I could have gotten a loan for a house by filling out an app on the back of a comic book (not really but just about). I get 3 credit card apps a day for 10 or 15 grand. Constantly getting checks & all I gotta do is cash them and I've got a loan.

I said at the time this was crazy...people are so in debt it's going to burn us...we lived high on the hog during those years with money being spent everywhere, corporate profits were soaring...now it's time to pay the reaper. Loans for houses that never should have been given are defaulting. Credit cards are not being paid back. We brought a good amount of this economic problem on ourselves without the governments help...maybe in spite of the government in some cases.

  3. From my research they are all about the same. Even the same complaints & praises on each:) I researched the Garmin, TomTom and Magellan. I ended up with the Magellan cause I got the 4250 for 300 bucks at costco (the 4000 was 400 at Best Buy). I liked the TomTom cause I could get Mr T's voice to tell me "You missed the turn fool!!!" but I couldn't pass up the deal.

So far it's good for what it does. I have only used it on one real trip thus far...going to NY in July to use it again.

What I noticed (and I think this is going to be consistent in all of them). When I selected to take the "shortest route" to my sisters near Nashville, it took me literally...next thing I know I'm on this windy 2 lane road with no lines stopping for deer while the sun is setting. Ok, there is no "shortest route using intelligent roads" option. The good of that is I just rerouted on fastest time and it took me right to the highway.

On the way back I learned to use the trip planner and set more points so it would take me point to point as I wanted to go instead of all or nothing on it's calculations.

I do like the speed of the Magellan for recalculating if you deviate from the current route. Usually within 15 or 30 seconds it's redone the work.

Basically my moral to the above is you can't just get in the car to go somewhere you don't know how to get to and expect it to be perfect...there is some planning...however, to get you out of an odd spot...works awesome.

If I could ask for 1 thing (and this may be available on some models) it would be to be able to create a trip on the PC and then download it to the GPS. Mouse would be much faster than the touch screen.

Oh, and my GPS has hung up on me 2 times...once when I was messing with the volume while it was trying to recalculate...I don't play with settings while the car is moving anymore (no, I wasn't driving at the time). I forget the other lockup but it was along the same lines...too many things happening for it to handle.

  4. And the truth comes out.

    http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...s/s_567550.html

As to Steelers chairman Dan Rooney and coach Mike Tomlin saying Tuesday they want to put Spygate behind them, Specter replied, "I have a little different perspective than they do. I'm elected by 12 million people and a lot of them are Steelers fans. And I'm also a United States Senator and beyond the 12 million Pennsylvanians who are Steelers fans, there are a lot of Americans who are Steelers fans ... I'm incensed about what happened with the Steelers."

I'm a Steelers fan...I'm incessed about it too...but they won't replay the games & they won't take away rings & give them to every team beat by the Pats...now I'll let it go too:)

And I agree boilersax...I was grinning and I really dislike the Giants quite a bit.

  5. I have to say it or I'm gonna bust.

Senator Spector...the country is on the verge of a depression, natural disasters are killing thousands of people across the world. We are at war with terrorists...and your worried that the Patriots may have had an unfair advantage in a football game.

Give me a break...there is one who should never be placed in a position of power again. How much has his little quest cost the country?

    pfffftttt

  6. You are on your computer and you get a connect popup to his box? If so then you are most likely trying to use a resource on his box...either a drive or a printer. Remove this mapping and you should not be prompted anymore.

  7. people trying to steal my school's email address...even more pathetic attempt then the steam id stealers

why do none of you respond to me?

  8. So, an asteroid big enough to cause near planet killing event could have it's trajectory significantly altered by an orbiting satellite? Suspect.

What if it hits all 40,000 of them at the same time? It could cover the earth:)

  9. My sister has bad Psoriasis. She gets perscription stuff from her dermitologist and also has a sun bed thing that she uses.

Back when it first started for her my dad built her a sun box out of plywood and sun lamps...worked for a while but now she has a nice one she bought. So, I guess sun does help.

She has never mentioned the gluten thing and her husband has celiac disease so he always eats gluten free. I may mention this to her though & see if she has heard about it. Sure would be easy for her to try that since she knows what to do:)

  10. Interesting convo there...I don't let my daughter (who is 9) even watch violent games. I do have a slightly different opinion than you ConGregation...I feel it's less of an issue for a kid to be running around shooting demons & monsters because it's easier to seperate that in real life...but every child is different. My nephews have been playing games like this all their lives. Only shooter my daughter plays is Lego Star Wars:)

  11. Great game...I was rooting for the Giants though expecting, and half hoping, the pats would win. Yea, I didn't want them to win because I don't like them but it would have been cool to see a team go 19-0.

Well, gratz to the Giants & their fans!!!

Now, on to the real reason for the game...were those great commercials or what? I think the Bud Light ones were best..."wheel sucks" LOL

  12. I've had DirectTV for at least 10 years now. I've been very happy with it. I probably notice an outage due to weather about 3 times a year but it's brief...maybe a minute or two at most. I think my internet goes out more than that.

I just have Total Choice (I believe) and no HD at this time. I do use the DVR/TIVO units and love them.

I guess my only complaint is the 5 bucks a room they charge after the first room. Very 1980's cable to me. So, I only have 2 rooms.

Course my reasoning for staying with DTV for 10 years is 100% NFL Sunday Ticket. I'd still probably be with DTV but I might have actually considered changing to something else.

  13. Are you certain she didn't hit the car to the right...thus reducing her speed at an unsafe rate causing you to hit her in the rear?

hehe...I do know when a 3 car rear end happens they always ask the front driver if they felt 1 hit or 2...did the cop ask the car to the right this question?

I'm glad your ok and it sucks to have to "work the system" but if you don't you will be screwed. Wouldn't it be nice if you could say "Yup...my fault, I'll pay damages" without being sued for a million bucks? But then that only happens in my perfect world and the doctors said I can't live there anymore ^_^

  14. on a side note don't parents have the option to save the blood from their childs umbillical chord which i think/will have to check, is full of stem cells that they can use later in life or give away.. i wouldnt know for sure being years from having kids, i just remember hearing that in a biology class and i dont know if its true

You can have the cord saved by a service...it is quite costly, forget exacts but it was > $1,000 I believe.

  15. Yea, last night's hooked me a bit more. I think Peter's energy blast was from...forget the name...the guy who was radioactive. I also don't recall Peter ever being next to Mica's father to get that phasing ability...perhaps he doesn't absorb them, rather he has all those powers...time will tell. Strength from Jessica?

I'll be watching again next week...though I have to TIVO since it's on during MNF:)

  16. I believe the dog now needs to be tested for rabies...I would bet that is a good place to start. I'd guess that would be at least a PITA for the owners:)

Sorry bout the hand man. Looks like it hurt. I'd be tinkled...and in pain.

  17. Nice mookie...I was gonna say they post the latest episode on the website.

I watched it last night...still not sure if I love it or think it's dumb...LOL...one of those things where I'll watch it a few more weeks before I decide. Oh, it's dumb if I've already figured out all the plot lines but based on last year that would not be the case:)

  18. If you have an HH Gregg around you I'd suggest checking them out. I've bought 2 big TV's, a fridge and a washer dryer from them and have been very happy. I think they are just in the Cincinnati area though.

Far as the same as cash...great deal if you are good about making the payments. Generally I try to have enough cash in the bank to cover any same as cash purchases I make just to be sure. You do know that if you fail to pay on time you are charged the full year of interest on the initial loan amount right?

Also, I've been told that you can use the same as cash as a barganing chip to get things cheaper if you pay for it outright. I'm not good at negociating so I've never done that.
