  1. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/unrealto..._flashtop_story Most sweet! Thank <insert any="" diety="" name="" here=""> they are releasing in 2006. -Fk</insert>
  2. The forum title for M3 will just flip to the new name. Soon. -Fk
  3. 69.12.89.191 ~14 ONS maps We'll flip out one each of standard and alt. maps every two or three weeks to keep things fresh. UT2Vote51 Chatfilter (with auto mute if they get out of hand and no admin is around) UAdminMod (with the ever-loved "teams" command) No superweapons of course Minimum players set to 6 Bots set to *skilled* Faq and map screenshots, and polls for new maps will go up soon. Enjoy -Fk
  4. Be cooler if worms lived in those holes... Just sayin... -Fk
  5. The physical box Mobocracy III lives on is down and there is little we can do in the short term to rectify the situation. It *will* be back up it is only that the "when" part of that "will" is a bit unknown right now. Think in terms of days, not weeks here. Most likely scenario (barring new info) is that M3 returns on Monday sometime. EDIT: Out of our hands - M3 likely down for the remainder of the week. Sorry folks -Fk
  6. Yes, that is indeed how it is done - the bigger question is why Cuffo is crashing at all... -Fk EDIT: FYI, for Recongamer, who host this server, it is *they* who control the startup batch file - meaning that sometime over the past few months, they mistakenly removed the no supers line from the start up. If I want that back in it will have to wait until next week, as they don't have anyone around on weekends to do *this* sort of stuff I'm poking on Cuffo most of tomorrow, perhaps I can find a workaround
  7. Why? To become a member of a large group of people dedicated to supporting high quality, public servers for online game play. To wear the /-=GC=-/ tag. To play with us on the TWL 6v6 ONS Ladder. What do I get? Besides the opportunity to support the servers you play on? You get: FTP access Email Coalition-only forums Reserves on the *ALL* GC servers (inc. all our CS:S ones) The tag of course /-=GC=-/ 24/7 access to our Private UT server Demesne That seems lame, people joining because they feel they owe you guys something for the public servers. Really? A fairly significant number of GC members joined for that reason alone. They play here all the time, enjoy the environment, and decide to contribute. Just the kind of folks we like to see join us. Don't worry. You can still play here on our public servers even with that attitude. It is a public server after all. I'm not like that other guy - I understand that there are no "free" servers and I'd like to join and help out. How much? All of the above $50/year Cool. Where do I send the money to? First, have you registered in the forums? Second, do we know you at all? Not that that is a big problem but you do understand that joining GC is also about upholding our standards of play, not only on our servers, but also when you wear the /-=GC=-/ tag out and about on the internet playing on other folk's servers? If word gets back to us that someone who is a GC member is exhibiting non-GC like conduct on other servers, we will BOOT you out of GC and KEEP your money. Seriously. But hey, no problems right? Just give a yell to some of the regulars (I assume on the UT side of GC) which would be Flitterkill or Penty, or Lex or Unclean, or Primus, or HWarrior, etc... to let us know your intentions of joining. We will say "Woot!" The money? That goes here: PayPal (dues@gamerscoalition.com) Once the head honcho has the money, all of the above is unlocked for you. You should also give this a gander too before doing all that: Join GC! So even though I wasn't "recruited" I can join? Yep!. GC is more of a club first and foremost. Many on the UT side who sport the /-=GC=-/ tag do play on the TWL ladder for competitive play but there are also more than a few UT regulars who have nothing to do with that. If you want to join and be a part of that, sure, come play with us. Even if you think you aren't that good you can still practice with us, get better, and even if you still are "teh suckage" you will likely see some playing time (though we do try to field our most competitive players if we can) Some regulars that we observe on the servers as being very good we try to actively recruit; esp. to play on our TWL 6v6 stuff. Some regulars who aren't that good but are a blast to play with (attitude, etc.) we almost always encourage to join as well. Just because we don't try to recruit *you* means NOTHING! Sometimes when we are on the servers we are just playing and we are not doing anything other than relaxing and winding down from our school/work/etc. stuff. Don't take it personally if we do not acknowledge your l33t 3k1lls. For our TWL ladder play, all of our members were "recruited" in the same way - we don't troll outside our servers for recruits. It is much easier to see folks who match our standards by watching people on our servers. We go from there. Anything else I get? Well, servers come and servers go. Even Nepenthe will go the way of all flesh eventually but by joining GC, you become part of a larger group - you have a large body of like-minded people who you can rely on to be a blast to play with in *other* online games besides on the servers GC supports (WoW, MatrixOnline, etc.). Of course, when UT2K7 drops GC will be there with at least one ONS server (and Conquest mode does sound awful nice) Need someone else to tool around with with a new online game demo? None of your friends into that? Post up here - you'd be surprised how many responses you are likely to get. GC can be a great resource in that regard. It ain't called "Gamers Coalition" for nothing! So, thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoy the servers, and if you like, come join us in something more than just a public server - join the GC! Flitterkill/-=GC=-/
  8. Nepenthe FAQ Welcome to the /-=GC=-/ 18-2 ONS server known as Nepenthe! BASIC STUFF: 72.51.60.245 18players 2 spectators Ver. 3369 No superweapons ONSPlus UAdminMod UTStatsDB (OLStats as serverside package) [http://www.expeditiary.com/nepenthe/index.php] *DOWN* Sustained pings of 200 and over auto-kicked Minimum players=8 Bots are *skilled* Netspeed=10000 Tickrate=30 CONTENTS 1) What UT2K4 game modes are on here? 2) alt.map? 3) So what are the numbers for Nepenthe? 4) Any other settings? 5) No superweapons? Why? That is teh suckage. 6) What are the specs on the box? 7) What version of the UT server are you running? 8) So why only 18 and 2? With those specs... 9) Minimum players? How many bots? What are they set to? 10) Are there reserve slots? 11) Who are the active server admins? 12) So is /-=GC=-/ a clan? I see that spam about you guys recruiting. 13) So can I recruit for my l33t ONS clan here? 14) Ok, I want to join because... 15) Now that I joined, can I put on the /-=GC=-/ tag 16) My old name won't fit with the /-=GC=-/ tag. Help! 17) What if I just want to play on the TWL league and ladder stuff with you? 18) Hey! I want to be an admin! What do I have to do? 19) If I do all that, can I be an admin? 20) I got banned from the UT servers? Why? 21) What are these standards you keep talking about? 22) Why any of that? You guys are way uptight... 23) I want the ban lifted. Please? 1) What UT2K4 game modes are on here? Strictly ONS, a mix of primarily standard maps and a few alt.maps. 2) alt.map? 3rd-party maps. You might see beta maps, Limited Edition maps, standard maps remixed, etc. on Nepenthe -/-=GC=-/ tend to prefer medium to large ONS maps with no single node choke point) 3) So what are the numbers for Nepenthe? 18 players plus 2 spectator slots. 4) Any other settings? Yep: No Superweapons UAdminMod ONSPlus UTStatsDB (w/OLStats) *DOWN* Sustained pings of 200 and over auto-kicked (for more on this - see the stucked post in the forum entitled "So you think you have lag...") 5) No superweapons? Why? That is teh suckage. Really? Actually, no, it's not. When someone with no skill can take a redeemer and blow up nodes it prolongs matches that should have been decided (and finished much sooner) based on skill. This is not a point for discussion on this server. 6) What are the specs on the box? Opteron 285 in Chicago, IL, USA connected to Looking Glass backbone We swing with vipers-servers.com (Hi Tom!) - Let me tell you, it is a pleasure dealing with one guy (and only one guy) - esp. when all he does is UT servers. 7) What version of the UT server are you running? ver. 3369 We *had* 3355 on for awhile but like many groups hosting UT ONS servers, we found that on our previous servers there was a approx. 15% bump in cpu usage which gave us a whole lot of lag even at 18 players. So we, like everyone else with a clue (who are running servers larger than 16 players), we reverted to 3339. This is mainly an ONS thing as ONS is so brutal on CPUs that any performance increase you can squeze out is done. The recent (last?) patch to 3369 fixed many small ONS gameplay matters, and as ONSPlus requires it, so to do we now require 3369 client-side. 8) So why only 18 and 2? With that hardware can't you make it bigger? 26-2 *WAS* our sweet spot. At this point in the UT2K4 life cycle, we are gonna save some dime, hunker down, maybe pickup a few new GC members (like you!) and come out of the gates hard with UT2007. As of August 2006 we are dropping from 26 to 18 players. Naturally, the hardware can easily handle 32 players - we just ain't paying for it 9) Minimum players? How many bots? What are they set to? Minimum players is 8. Bots are set to *skilled* (which is 4 on an 8 point hardness scale - 8 being godlike) 10) Are there reserve slots? Yep - /-=GC=-/ members bump out the last to join the server when the server is full. If you play here all the time and don't like getting bumped, joining GC is a way to get a reserve and solve that problem. 11) Who are the active server admins? I'm glad you used the word "active". There are many who hold admin status on the UT servers, however, CS:S, WoW, and other games have taken thier toll on the GC UT Ranks but there is conserable new blood in /-=GC=-/ now. I, Flitterkill/-=GC=-/, am the lead server admin in control of server settings, maps, etc. I of course also have admin powers in game. Many other /-=GC=-/ do as well, though not all /-=GC=-/. Remember, we are a coalition of sorts - admin here is also admin on our multiple CS:S servers as well and vice-versa. 12) So is /-=GC=-/ a clan? I see that spam about you guys recruiting. We are and yet we are not. The best way to describe GC is more like a club/loose organization. A club that is chiefly concerned with high quality play on public servers in an idiot-free environment. As such, we kick in dime for public servers and then set standards for those servers (as it is our dime) When you join GC, and there are no tryouts or anything, you are joining the overall community which is here to support servers that are conducive to good gaming. In other words, you join to support servers where the smack talk is minimal, in-game names are clean, voice chats are not filled with 14 year olds who learned new words at school, etc. Trust me when I say we are not prudes or all up in the Bible and such (though some are and what's wrong with that? - GC is a very *BIG* and *DIVERSE* community) - in fact, when I teach (Flitterkill is a university professor type person ) I would venture to say that my language does not meet GC standards, but see - that's the point: our standards are in place to ensure that strangers can come online and play the game in a civil and safe environment and enjoy themselves without having to deal with all the above nonsense - and once you stick around and are no longer strangers - do we hunker down and make a private server so we can blither and swear in a jovial manner? No - we keep it going in the publics getting more strangers to become regulars and then members. If we make exceptions for the people we know and GC members, the end result is the same server environment you get anywhere else on the net - people who know each other using pubbers for cannon fodder and insult target practice because its "thier" server - and that's fine - but not us. Servers come, servers go, but the community stays the course and we add (and drop) servers for various game types based upon community needs, wants, and finances. You also have a community of like-minded folks in which to hook up with in other games we don't provide servers for (see WoW, Everquest, etc...) That is what joining GC is about. Out of all of the people registered on the forums, only a fraction have decided to truly join GC. Of that number, only a fraction play UT on a regular basis (most play CounterStrike or other games we don't provide servers for [WoW for ex.]) Of *that* fraction, even though we all sport the /-=GC=-/ tag, only a few play on the TWL ladder and league. In fact, we used to be not bad - we peaked at 6th on the ONS ladder twice. Hey now - 5th as of August 2006 (it helps that many of the top flight ONS teams have all but gone...) Being a member of /-=GC=-/ does *not* mean you have to be a part of any of the TWL (or other) activites we participate in. It also does *NOT* preclude you from joining or having a clan of your own. 13) So can I recruit for my l33t ONS clan here? Yes, but kinda no, but really yes. We would prefer that you do not overtly recruit pubbers here - we'd rather they join us on our TWL travails! The key word is overtly. If you see someone you'd like to check out, invite them to your own public servers or private servers for a chat. It is considered poor ettiquette to recruit on other people's (read: clans) public servers. However, we really are only a club of sorts which puts us in a grey area. Which is to say that ultimately you can, but we might let you know it is bad ettiqute and even tell you to knock it off if we (/-=GC=-/) are in the server at the time and your recruiting is taking away from game play, etc. Unless... If you *joined* GC, you could recruit to your heart's content! We could even hook you up with your own forum space, etc. Of course, your clan would still need to adhere to general GC guidelines (our standards regarding names, attitude, etc.); but yes, you could recruit all you wanted to. On the CS:S side there are multiple clans that use GC servers as thier base of operations. FYI, regardless of our yes you can, no can't but really you can stance on recruiting here one thing is *not* permissable. Do *NOT* join a game and spam in the text channel that your clan is recruiting. An admin will ask you to stop that and if you persist, enjoy the kicking and or banning that ensues. Spam in-game sucks as much as it does in email, IM, etc. We deal with it accordingly. 14) Ok, I want to join because I: a.) want to play on the league/ladder b.) want a reserve on the servers c.) I play here all the time, I figure its the least I could do. Great! At the moment GC membership including email, FTP, unlocking the coalition member-only forums, reserves on ALL GC SERVERS (inc. our CS: S ones) and 24/7 access to our private practice/match server Temerity is $50 for one year! Just so you know, its for the best to join the forums, introduce yourself, or at least make yourself known as a regular to the folks swinging the /-=GC=-/ tag before throwing your money down. If you figure joining GC makes it easier to break the server rules regarding language, names, etc. you'd be wrong. As a member you are now a standard bearer for what GC stands for. Get out of line and we will kick/ban you (yes you, GC member) and keep your money! Then again, if you are joining, I doubt it would be to so you could break the rules. Also note that when you wear the /-=GC=-/ tag, you are representing the overall community with your standards of play (I'm not talking ability here). Pubbing in other non-/-=GC=-/ servers is fine, we all do it, but *lots* of folks know us and word will get back to us if someone wearing the tag is behaving in a very non-/-=GC=-/ like manner. 15) Now that I joined, can I put on the /-=GC=-/ tag - even if I want nothing to do with the TWL league/ladder stuff? Absolutely - please do! Pubbers see the /-=GC=-/ tag as an indication that decent/good/non-idiot players are in the server, and then they join the servers to play which means when you join a GC server that is empty people will soon be joining you, and then they start coming back, and then they are here all the time, and then they want to join GC, and then they do, and then they wear the tag, which attracts pubbers to the server... 16) My old name won't fit with the /-=GC=-/ tag. Help! That is a limitation of the in-game menu system. It appears to have a limit of 24 characters or something like that. Open up your user.ini file and enter the name manually - it will fit fine that way or just hit the tilde key in-game to bring up the console then type in: "setname whateveryouwant" (sans quotes) and you are set. 17) What if I just want to play on the TWL league and ladder stuff with you? You still need to join GC. If we approach you on the servers and ask you to hook up with us TWL-wise it is because you: a.) Demonstrated that you at least don't suck, and are actually pretty good at playing ONS (esp. team-wise) b.) Demonstrated through your regular appearance on our servers that you *get* what GC is about, even if you haven't joined yet. We don't have to approach you for you to join GC *and* play in the TWL with us. We try to field our best players in the matches but even if you are teh suckage come practice with us and get better - chances are you will see playing time regardless! 18) Hey! I want to be an admin! What do I have to do? a.) Be a regular known to /-=GC=-/ folks on our UT servers b.) Be consistant in upholding GC standards - c.) Join the forums and post up once in awhile d.) *Join* GC! e.) Be a member of GC for a vague period of time (couple of weeks at least) 19) If I do all that, can I be an admin? Maybe but right now we are kinda set admin-wise - not to mention there are some other folks who have been in the GC UT2K4 community for a long time I would likely approach first... 20) I got banned from the UT servers? Why? You violated one, some, or all our standards. Take your pick: Having an in-game name that is against our standards Swearing over voice channel Swearing, racist, etc. chat text Evading language filters on purpose Unsportsman-like play Generally griefing, complaining about non-existant hax, etc. Impersonating other /-=GC=-/ members etc. Of course, on top of all the above, you were likely warned repeatedly by the admin to change your ways and either you ignored him or her outright or pushed back thinking that you have the right to do whatever you feel like on a "public" server. Most times you will be warned before you are kicked/banned; occasionally not. 21) What are these standards you keep talking about? Go here for the overall view. Cliffnotes version: Screen names should not have swear words in them. Same thing for religious stuff (pro-God, anti-God, pro/anti-any religion) Same thing for sex stuff. Same goes for political stuff. For all the above, goes the same for voice and text chat in-game. Keep the smack talk to minimum. And yes, we are aware of the urban dictionary, nice try. 22) Why any of that? You guys are way uptight... Not really. Trust me. We just realize that when you let that stuff in, it becomes less about the game and more about people blithering about sex, politics, religion, etc. We don't need or want that here. If that's your thing, take it to the other public servers out there. Us? We'd rather be playing the game. If you feel the need to insist on doing any of the above, an admin will be around shortly to kick/ban you from our servers. Keep in mind, we are all adults on this side of the fence and we *CHOOSE* to have these standards - debating us about how UT is a mature-only rated game and that "we aren't all children ya know" will get you no where - look at the *six* (7?) CS:S servers we have going (and trust me, they are really rigid over there rules-wise) - that's a lot of money flowing in to pay for all these servers - we got to be doing something right... Go ahead and read THIS FORUM POST for our GC UT2K4 server standards including gameplay style, etc. 23) I want the ban lifted. Please? Read this. Instead of posting in the got banned forums (which are now embedded in the CS:S forums) - just go ahead and plead your case here in the UT pub forum An admin will be around to help you shortly. Have fun folks! -Fk FAQ last edited by Flitterkill/-=GC=-/ August 2006
  9. Your name is not "reserved" as far as utstats in concerned. All they care about is the number they assign you. In fact, it will also pull whatever your current "name" is out of the user.ini file and stick it in utstats. Did you recently reinstall the game? Something along those lines?. Notice that your utstats # is in the 600,000 range. Tells me that you reinstalled and that *will* reset stats (or rather, start up another entry). Happened to me when I reinstalled. One entry for me is a utstats number of about 20,000 and when I reinstalled the game (same copy, same serial number) I got a new entry of 80,000 or so. This is your stats, prior to your reinstall. http://ut2004stats.epicgames.com/playersta...p?player=128974 DecayedDivinity is GC now - woot! -Fk
  10. A little backfill Decayed... First, there was ONShaven. *That* was "teh drama" and "teh flamage" Guy who started it had already moved on for some time, and then there was some stuff that just tipped it over the edge for him and he announced, in a friendly way, that he was shutting it down at which point, some other folks came around and picked up the slack to start: onscentral Did "teh drama" follow? Unfortunately yes. Some good stuff if you just choose to ignore the raving arogant loonies - only a couple of those, but they do tend to get under some folks skin. It is nice to have a good chunk of the hardcore players all in one spot. DecayedDivinity/-=GC=-/ You know you want to... -Fk
  11. Hey Div - welcome to the forums. Now become official - you know you want to - love to have you.... </soft/hard sell> Otherwise, short answer is that the physical *case* is the problem - introduces voltage flux or somesuch. Meaning occasional farts when someone walks by or something. New case on the way. But otheriwse. Yes. 20 and 2 no lag. Woot. I need to post the M3 faq here.... -Fk PS: Membership for UT folks into GC is currently 25, not 50.... *cough* join *cough*
  12. I waited until it was cool - I was member #50 to sign up.... -Fk
  13. Once we get Mobocracy III (new 20/2 server that we own) locked down I am more than willing to give that a whirl on there. I'm a regular at ONShaven, but with all "teh drama" I tend to just read and laugh (which is to say I haven't posted there yet - prob won't either - lol) - but yeah, I'm aware of the doings of UTV and such - SofaKing hinted at this to us about three weeks ago. Thx for asking - will keep in touch -Fk
  14. Fixed as far as I know. Played multiple rounds with map changes last night at 2am; strangely enough with a clanned up DM guy who had never played ONS before in his life and me playing as McNukems with the notebook. Anhoo, closing ticket for now. FYI, server will go down sometime today for a bit, but will be back up shortly thereafter
  15. Strangely enough, I almost got pwned this past Tuesday evening driving back from Indianapolis to Bloomington. Speed limit 55 Traffic speed 70 My speed 75 ( ) Cop was behind me, silently (this is at night) for a *long* ways. Never knew he was there obviously. Get near Bloomington, he pulls along side me, hits the siren for a sec, which of course, scares the hell out of me (lol), flips the lights on in his squad, points at his speedometer, and then, after I slow down of course, continues on his way. lol Charmed life for me I guess (since that would have been 20 over, dare I even consider the financial ramifications?) -Fk
  16. FYI, nothing has changed - this is the same server as it was a week ago. Expect a random system halt whenever... Windows Server 2000 installed soon. Unless it of course decides to keep running happy like.... Stupid annoying Mobo III -FK
  17. Mobocracy III right now: Unfortuantely, as stable as the UT server is, and lag free with 20 players and 2 specs, there is something just hosed with the linux op-sys install on the hardware that hosts MIII (or someone keeps turning the power on and off in the room where M3 lives ) This problem never got a chance to manifest before when we were having the UT map crash problems as those happened so fast and often, the deeper server problem never had the time to do anything. So, even though I brought M3 back up last night, this morning it went down for another system halt because it felt like it. Nothing to do with the UT install - Shadow was the last to play on it at 630-ish AM this morning. Then the server sat with no peeps until the system halted. So yeah... Whats this ultimately mean for all you regulars out there who have become accustomed to a Mobocracy of some sort to play on? Cuffo: Cuffo with its ALT.ONS rotation will stay the same - we are starting to get a regular population on that server - glad to see it! - I'm loathe to change it over to standard ONS for just a few days and then flip it back - if we still don't have MIII up a week from now we can revist that decision. Mobocracy II Mobo II is in an interesting place right now. The bill was due on Sunday. We have not, and will not renew that server. It still lives at the moment (contrary to what I changed the server name to) - though once the server company gets around to it they will, I imagine, turn it off. So if M3 is not up (like now), M2 is still out there until ???? Mobocracy III this week and next: Anyways, sometime this week Windows Server 2000 will be put on the hardware that runs MIII right now (instead of linux). And then we will run with that. Hopefully we can still squeeze the 20 and 2 out of the hardware with the extra Windows overhead. Otherwise, we get a dup of M2 at 18 and 2 (hopefully) If we can't get ye olde Windows Server 2000 to work on our hardware with UT we are not going to be stuck with just Cuffo - we will get another server from another provider. The situation (which is really beneficial to GC but I will not go into the details of here) demands we try and take advantage of a very good thing but that means a bit of a rough patch as we iron out the problems (perfect world would have seen our hardware and UT and Linux playing nicely off the bat - in which case none of these M3 posts over the last 2 weeks would have ever have happened - them's the breaks I guess) Stick with us guys - GC and UT ONS ain't goin anywhere! -Fk
  18. Whats wrong with Cuffo? - First I've heard. EDIT: Actually, I was monitoring Cuffo for bit between 1030 and 130am last night (Thur/Fri) - actually had some good numbers in there with no GC in sight - no one complained about lag or anything, etc. -Fk
  19. SYLLABICATION: tem·er·ar·i·ous PRONUNCIATION: tm-râr-s ADJECTIVE: Presumptuously or recklessly daring: “I would never have been temerarious enough to make use of such a title on my ownâ€? (Brendan Gill). See synonyms at reckless. ETYMOLOGY: From Latin temerrius, from temere, rashly. OTHER FORMS: temer·ari·ous·ly â€â€ADVERB Not that anyone didn't know that already... -Fk
  20. In other words, it will check pings at a given interval (set by me - 5 seconds - 30 seconds - 90 seconds - whatever) - is your ping over the amount I set? - if so, that increments the pingkick counter by one - rinse and repeat - if you go over the counter threshold (set to whatever I feel like - 4 - 6 - whatever) then you get kicked. There is a warning text message that will flash once you pass a give increment (again user changeable) So, something like the counter goes past 3 you get warned about impending ping kick, and then maybe at 5 out you go. Nothing finalized on this end yet but it will not just blast folks away for the occasional high ping periods - this is to knock out the folks who come in with 200+ pings and don't leave. So anyways - I will prob *not* put this in tonight. Fatty gave me the contact at XGS and we are going to try and knock this out hopefully - the ping kicker is still a good idea and will likely go in to get the extreme pings out (200+). -Fk
  21. Sometime tonight or tomorrow a ping kicker will be put into place. The lag problem is either one of two things at this point. A box that can't handle 18-20 players (and at this point we are the *only* server running on this particular box at the moment) -or- Once we creep up past 16 players, any one who had a nasty ping b4 (150+) we go over 16 starts to actually have an affect on the rest of us. Today there was a player from Trinidad and one from the UK who popped in to an almost full server bringing horrible pings with them. Laggage for all ensued. Whether this is really the cause of our troubles I'm not sure but am keen to find out. /-=GC=-/ members will *not* be kicked for ping ever - benefits of membership. Prob kick for pings 170 and over. This is not a case where you hit that number and above just once and are kicked. You need to have sustained sucky pings for a bit - and then you are given a heads up thats the case, and then warned you will be kicked due to high ping, then kicked for duration of the map. This means that if you go into the server and and there are only 10 people there but you have a horrible ping, you will still be kicked. Just so you know. If complaints of laggage go down after this - then mission accomplished. If not, Mobo 3 is on the way... -Fk
  22. Ok - back up for the time being - still a few mods to drop in but it should be solid and stable and g2g. Expect a brief outage or two when I drop the other stuff back in but otherwise - enjoy! -Fk
  23. Wowza - that was fast - new version is installed - BUT - I need to dump in the other stuff - so at the moment Mobo II is DOWN Coming back up shortly (hour or two) Edit: or more.... </realistic> -Fk
  24. Work order is in for a complete reinstallation of the UT server on Mobo II - mainly due to a new server revision being released the other day, the other as a possible solution to laggage, etc. So, expect some downtime in the next day or so as the server is wiped, reinstalled, and we get all the mutators, admin stuff, etc. back up to snuff. Mobo II you say? Why bother you say? Mobo III is on the way you say? True enough, however, the box upon which Mobo III will reside is still waiting for a complete linux re-install - the time table on that is a bit fuzzy, so we work with what we have now (Mobo II) So, in summary - expect downtime, hopefully very little. -Fk
