I'm using 7 with no desire to change. I have 8 on my laptop, and it's cool, but I just prefer 7 on my gaming rig, everything that I ever need access to its right where I can find it, and it runs flawlessly.

 

I have read about win 8 being more cpu hungry, causing some gamers issues in newer games like bf4, but since I have no first hand experience with that, you'll have to let your fingers do the walking.

The first time I played in a GC server, back in 2004 I guess...I was banned, wasn't sure why, so I came to the forums to straighten it out, and I was forced to create a forum account to post....and since I was clueless as to why I was banned, that's the name I used when I signed up

I have old and fatitis myself, but apparently not the advanced stage that you are suffering from.

As in FREE? Honestly I've never bought a Radeon video card, so I'm not sure how to compare it to the geforce cards. Which geforce would this one probably be most similar to?

Yeah, i'm no longer using it. As for which card it compares to....not really sure.

I have an HD6870....I used it for less than a year. Read up on it, if it will do what you need it to...just PM me your info and you can have it.

I'm just not overly into those kinds of games anymore. I miss the silencer on the M4. I miss the lack of a real upgrade to the game. And I really want decent netcode that doesn't require a lot of cvar modifications and config file modifications in order to get decent registration.

The silenced M4 is back, although it holds less ammo...

Sorry...can't play in our server, unless they move it...my route is bad.

 

Here's an example of how bad...I was in the private server the other day trying to iron out my buy binds, shooting at bots, and it was taking 2 to 3 HEADSHOTS to kill stationary bots...so we can't even contribute that to my questionable aim,lol.

I kinda doubt it Biggs.....but feel free to try it out. We had a BF3 server, but it failed miserably due to having no one to dedicate a boat load of time to it, naming myself as one of the culprits.

 

Battlefield games don't seem to breed the sense of community that CS and L4D2 do...I think that the lack of in game voice chat is largely responsible for that. If you want voice, you are usually in a vent server with your little established group....not really mixing it up with the locals. The Valve games that we play here have a more connected feel to them due to all of the in game socializing.....sometimes that's a bad thing, but hey...it can't all be champagne and roses right?

Less.....I like cleanliness and simplicity in my forums. I find ours a bit busy for my liking...and the white text on black background plays hell on my eyes. I actually find myself checking the forums from my phone even when I am right next to the PC since the mobile version isn't so busy looking.

 

I hate to even say that knowing how much work you put into making them what they are....i'm just into simple, so as long as I can change it to something a bit more "classic", i'm cool.

Heh...doubt you'll have to worry about that, he's a class act. If anything, I have to apologize to him for my sailor mouth sometimes, lol.

Disturbed is fantastic live....they sound great! Hard to believe that his voice sounds just that good live. Saw them 3 times total, all at House of Blues venues...various cities.

Are they going to be deleted, locked or moved to archives?? I don't mind them closing, but I wouldn't mind being able to dig up and read some of the things that I have posted and others have posted in the past..

At this point,I would say that they would be saved in some capacity...as most all of the old stuff is. They will be closed, but I'm sure that we can have them here as a read only archive. Providing that people don't come in a year from now having had one of their premonitions come true and start doing victory dances up in the regular forums.

 

 

This should have happened a long time ago. There is no discussing politics with many people here without insults and mob warfare.

 

Closing this wouldn't be necessary if the same rules and standards that are applied everywhere else was applied here.

Problem is....you identify anyone a leftist that doesn't agree with your strict perspective of any given situation, based on "fact" posted on the side streets of the internet by people with the same ideals that you have....making the "facts" sometimes biased or inaccurate altogether....fine example was the fireman story that was pointed out, which had it not been, you may have argued that point to the grave not ever having fully researched the story that you read as fact.

 

This is a complex world ZD, not everything is black and white, and there isn't always just one right answer...or a right answer at all in some cases, but that doesn't make everyone a complete whacko that doesn't see the world according to you.

 

It is not possible to have a country full of people that all think the same way, and have the same answers to every question, so you can't very well expect that you will like and agree with every single decision made by those in charge...if you did, our society would likely fall under the category of communism, and you would just happen to find yourself luckily on the side that shares your ideals.....and everyone left would just be the "wrong" people, all just crying because they couldn't get their way.

This has been a topic of discussion many times, and lately the tone in here has been rarely anything but negative.

 

The one fact in here that no one can dispute is that politics are very polarizing,and all you have to do to see this is look at the past few topics. It's quite clear that everyone has their opinions and their own set of facts to base them from, and you can also see that these "discussions" add nothing positive to this community....and that's what we are supposed to be here, more specifically, a gaming community, which takes us even further from politics.

 

So in the interest of purging this community of the negative element that the political asylum has always nurtured, the board has voted to close the doors permanently.

 

They will remain open for a week as a platform for all of the political regulars to voice your opinion, say goodbyes, let bygones be bygones, or whatever the case may be. Just be aware that this is in no way an attempt to run anyone off, we hope everyone will stick around and enjoy the gaming community that you have all been a part of for so long.

 

Also be aware that we will have a zero tolerance policy for political discussion, or complaints about the forum closure outside of this forum after the week has passed.

Jeez....I feel like i'm in the middle of a group of hipsters playing "my band is cooler and more obscure than your band", but i'm probably just old, and that pain i'm feeling is probably just gas...Anyways, mine would have to be a toss up between Metallica, and KISS....yes, I know....KISS is cheesy, but the reason it was one of the most memorable for me was because KISS was my first taste of music when I was probably 8 or 10 years old. I had found some of my mom's albums and was drawn in by the comic book-like characters and artwork, then I figured out how to use the record player....so when they reunited and put the makeup back on in 1996...it was like my childhood had come to life. I'd never had the opportunity to see them as a kid, so it was a cool blast from my past.
