    I'm 32 goin on 16.

     

    My dads 56 and he plays pc games as much if not more than I do. He's really wanting to get HL2 so he can get CS:S and play on the server.

    Difference between x800's?

    You might have to check into this to be sure, but if memory serves, only the X800 Pro VIVO boards can be unlocked with a bios flash. I dont remember how its done exactly, hopefully someone here can add to this, but i think its just flashed with the X800 XT bios to unlock the additional pipelines.

    I always have a great time here, i feel like i know alot of the regulars here now and that makes playin alot more fun. I'm sure anybody that was new tonight will be back because there isnt a better place out there to play.

     

    Everybody here is very cool and they never give me a hard time for stinkin so bad, they actually try to help instead of shout obsenities at you.

    Firewall settings?

    I have a mobo with the Nvidia Nforce 3 250gb chipset that has the onboard firewall, currently when i play on the server i set it to anti-hacking only, but i guess the other question i have is, are we at risk of viruses and such while playing on the server? Or is lack of browser use keep us fairly anonymous? I also use AVG anti virus, but shut it down when playing.

     

    Just curious as to what some of you set your stuff at, especially Nvidia firewall.

    Question about Mobo & RAID Setup

    You can also use RAID as simply extra IDE inputs. On my last mobo I had it and used it to keep my DVD and DVD R/W drives on separate channels, it's supposed to be more efficient for burning, can burn at faster speeds without problems.

     

    I didnt realize the AMD64 was holding its value more than past chips, thats real close to what I paid for mine 3 months ago. The ZipZoomFly price seems to be the way to go.

    Prize ideas for 2005

    I do custom paint work, primarily on Harley Davidson's, and i've been thinkin about tryin some airbrush ideas i have on something like a computer case, It also depends on how busy this season is because I do it in my off time, i'm a finish carpenter by trade, so I can only handle so much paint work. But if you guys think it's a cool idea, I could try and MAKE time for it, and give it away as a prize at Fragfest.

     

    Let me know what you think, if you like the idea, some case model ideas would be good, I use basic stuff so I dont know what "cool" cases the kiddies are into these days.

     

    I was thinking like, skulls with some flames or something like that.

    I've really enjoy playin with Newbee5 (even though him and Toka together add up to about 75% of my deaths), I think hes a pretty fair admin, as are most, everybody gets aggrevated, theyre out there playin, winnin and losin with the rest of us, and also having to babysit (for lack of a better term), i'm sure they all make some calls they regret. But this server is proof that the system works very well overall. I've played with you as well hangover, you seem pretty cool, and i hope to see you out there again.

    Wow, you guys have really given me alot to think about, first and foremost, I hope Brillows wife to be doesnt ever log on and read these forums, or he might have alot more time than he thought to devote to ff05. :P

    :lol: Thats funny, also not far from the truth.

     

    The reason I have to wait and not download it is because when i got the ATI deal, I had no idea what STEAM was, and the idea of downloading and playing MY game through Valve made me feel like I was under big brothers heavy thumb. Well, needless to say that was stupid, now that I understand it all, I wish I would have got it STEAM. But, since I ordered the CD and payed S&H, now i'm commited.

     

    Well, gotta cut this short and grab my huntin gear! :D

    I'm a little unsure about Fragfest, like I said before, i'm new to online multiplay, but it's the most fun i've EVER had gaming and I owe most of that to this community.

    I've never seen a lan party operate, coupled with the fact that i stink and people could actually laugh at me to my face, it's a bit intimidating.

    But since I live in Kent,less than a 1/2 hr away, I would be glad to offer service as staff if it's needed, just to help out and see how it all works, and meet some of the people that kill me on a regular basis.

    If you don't need staff help, of course my earlier agreement with Fatty to pass out flyers at KSU still stands.

    Is there an offline mode to CS:S? Under properties it says ready next to offline mode, but i can't see a way to access it.

    I heard someone mention something about a practice type thing and I wanted to check it out, those who have played with me will understand :D
