  1. The first time I played in a GC server, back in 2004 I guess...I was banned, wasn't sure why, so I came to the forums to straighten it out, and I was forced to create a forum account to post....and since I was clueless as to why I was banned, that's the name I used when I signed up :)

That's actually the same reason I came to the forums also. I was accidentally banned and signed up to straighten it out. It was also about a month after you were banned. Was that GCs recruitment policy back then?

  2. My name was actually recommended to me by Xbox Live when I was setting up my 360 for the first time. I don't remember how, but I liked it and kept it. It has nothing to do with Halloween, but because I love the Smashing Pumpkins (when they were still all the original band players anyway.)

My brother and nephew used their recommended Xbox Live user names too. SparkyCarton and FireWarhead. They actually aren't bad for two seemingly random words. :D

  3.

I try to ask for volunteers from our members when a team is under manned or under skilled, I try to never force someone to join a different team.

I use to just pick someone now I just ask there are a handful of people always willing to switch. Sometimes I will say if no one does ill just pick someone, expect gotyour6, I just tell him he's switching lol.

Well, that was rude of you.

  4. Battle Royal and Hunger Games give me a Lord of the Flies vibe for some reason. It's not exactly the same in the sense that it's not organize "Kill everyone and go home" kind of thing but the premise of taking children/young adults and watch them try to survive is there.

  5. Alright, I have a question I've been losing sleep over. Is the title supposed to be "Thought everyone should know", like, you think we should all know. Or is it "Though everyone should know", like, you think we should have already known?

  6. Battlefield also supports 64 players, and that seems to be what people enjoy. You can have smaller servers like the Close Quarters servers but I don't think they are as popular. If I had to guess Battlefield players see them and think, "oh my, that's like Call of Duty! GTFO!".

If we had like, 30 more people who played Battlefield maybe we could pull off a server.

  7. Three things that immediately come to my mind.

1.) 120-200 hours is an insane amount of hours to force someone to play to unlock one of the main features in a game they bought. I only have 42 hours in CS:GO and if I had to play another 80 hours to play on competitive servers I would never get there.

2.) Putting main features of a game behind a time wall may stop people from buying it if that's the part of the game they want to play. It wouldn't be smart of Valve to push people away from their product by putting main features behind a wall.

3.) A lot of people playing CS:GO played Source or 1.6. Just because they don't have 100+ hours in CS:GO doesn't make them complete newbies to Counter-Strike.

  8. I scare easy, and to be honest, Amnesia didn't scare me. I'm not sure if it's the way they went about trying to terrify people or my development experience that hindered the experience. I found the game to be quite fantastic, but models in the game looked terrifyingly awful. It was definitely one of the funnest games I've played in the survivor horror genre, and has spawned others to use the whole "can't fight, must run" idea. I wish the latest Amnesia game were created by the same devs, though, and was more survival horror than lackluster puzzle solving. Still, I wait impatiently for a game like Amnesia that will actually result in peeing myself. I do need to say that I got scared at one point, in the prison area, but that was only because a co-worker walked up behind me and slammed his hands down on my shoulders when I was completely immersed in the game.

Since Amnesia didn't scare the pants off of me, I can only conclude that the videos of peoples reactions to the water area and other parts of the game were bogus in an attempt to draw in attention or ratings.

I'm not scared of spiders, so no one can be scared of spiders. I assume anyone who freaks out when they see a spider is a drama queen begging for attention.

That's basically what you just said...
